Hi Ladies!

Don't forget you can put up sterile normal saline or sterile water for first aid emergencies.

2 rounded tsp NON-IODIZED (pickling) salt to each quart of boiling water in sterilized jars. Process 15 minutes in a boiling bath canner. This can also be done with "spares": jars used to fill in the canner if you do not have a full load, either boiling bath or pressure canner.

ok where do I find pickling salt...i tried looking for it at the no frills here and they did not have it...is picking salt different then table salt(cause man oh man I got lots of table salt)...

Pickling salt is different than table salt in that table salt contains iodine. In addition, pickling salt is very fine grained. If you have kosher salt, you can use that at a rate of 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt to 1 tsp pickling salt.

Most major grocery stores *should* carry pickling salt. Look around, and if you don't find it, you can substitute kosher salt at the ratio described above.

I have all three stocked, and getting more.
thanks for the reminder , to prep water. great for wounds, etc.
