Yes, Doc1, I know it isn't diesel! But I'd rather have something to use *now* that isn't exactly what I want until I can find exactly what I want and sell this one to a relative.

Why we need a gennie: the house we are moving into is at the tail-end of electrical service. There are 5 houses and one "duplex" that covers three families with small children (as in 3yo or under) and one 80-something mammaw w/ health issues. I want something for my house for those times we lose power for multiple days in order to run the freezer and fans. I am also use it as another source for charging a battery bank, as I am discovering there is a LOT of tree-cover around the house - which helps reduce the need for the AC in summer. Means solar is gonna be a bit more difficult. So with all that in mind, would this gennie be worth my investment?

We got a 3500/4000 watt and it handles what we need. i think we could get 2-14 hr runtime on a 5 gal tank. it is enough to run the well and freezer. can also charge batts. You just have to realize that it can only Handel so much at a time and prioritize your loads for max performance.

it comes to Harbor freight you get what you pay for...............I know of nobody who has gotten a good deal when it comes to service from harbor freight. When comes to power, guns, night vision, solar and medical you should go first cabin, it the long run you will see the wisdom in this......eto

This is much better product.

A chinese knock off that has gotten great reviews from RV'ers, and was a mjor buy with a bunch of guys on AR-15 a few months ago.

I think in the store right now they are going for $299 with rebate being offered.

You can link two of the together if you wanted for more power...

Thankee, Navajo! Is this item routinely stocked at Advance stores? I know where *plenty* of those are.
