Hi Folks,

On Saturday, Jan. 3rd, I'll be on "Voices From the Heartland", a National Shortwave radio broadcast. The show is hosted by our friend and neighbor up here in the upper peninsula of Michigan, Greg Evenson. Greg is an ex-Green Beret Officer and law enforcement official who takes on many different issues on his show. This weekend we'll be discussing homesteading, self sufficient living, and the Oberhasli dairy goat.

To tune in the show, go to: http://www.republicbroadcasting.org/ (mhtml:{470DEE0A-458B-4282-8707-55703A681D94}mid://00000004/!x-usc:http://www.republicbroadcasting.org/) Then, click on "Listen Live", and turn on your speakers. It's a free streaming broadcast through the internet. The show starts at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time.

Thanks, I'll try to remember to be listening in... Saturday is usually grain store day so I should be able to remember this!

really cool, hope it goes well for you!

Would you consider a request to put a post on the main board that morning to remind us? The chance of me remebering anything that far in the future is pretty dismal. I'd love to listen to it. Thanks for considering my request!

Wishing you and Greg good luck on the radio show...
Is this the same Greg as Michgreg here on TOL?

Please give us a reminder. I have been seriously considering a dairy cow, but I am interesting in learning more about milking goats. We have 13 horses and I figured the cow would get along better with them than goats. Our neighbor has "fainting" goats-I'm not sure what their purpose is for other than amusement. When I saw the thread title about "talkin goats" I thought maybe it was something that belonged in the root cellar (ie: goats that talk-). Good luck with your show!

Thanks all, we're really looking forward to getting some good info out there esp. in folks having their own food supply.
Greg Evensen has a weekly 2 hour show on RBN...always good pertinent info. He is not a TOL member tho. Not yet at least!
We'll post on Friday to remind those interested.
