We are not the proud owners of a 50 lb bag of the stuff. How do you feed it? I was thinking you needed a little wall feeder, like you do when you feed goats free choice minerals. Hubby says you just scatter the stuff in the hen house litter. What do you folks say?

as with all things , everyone will have their own opinion on it. I just scatter and let them pick at it,, gives them something to do in there free time.. Just dont over do it ..:)

I scatter it too. But I don't see any reason you couldn't put it in a feeder.
Sometimes when the chickens are out, I just scatter it, or some scratch, or the grit where I would like them to hang out for a while, it seems to buy some time. Eventually they always want to wander off..

Scatter it is, then. Thanks, folks! You're a big help.

We keep a feeder in the chicken run even when they are ranging in the summer, we put the grit in the feed and it is always seems to disappear faster than the feed, 1/4 cup per coffee can of feed is what we use

Carpenter, so you just mix it up with the laying mash? Hmm, that might make me feel better about it .....
