Dash lights are out and running back lights. Break lights work, but when the car is just running at night, no back lights.

Messed with the fuse box, trying to figure out what fuse to replace. GM uses some teminology I do not understand.

I know the fuse numbers 15...but wich fuse spot to replace, is becoming a mystery.

something that would meen dash and Back lights?

Sometimes the fuse position numbers are next to the fuses , but most of time now they are on the back of the panel that you had to take off to get to the fuse box.

Park lights out in front too??? #15 should be diagrammed on the fuse panel cover or in the owners manual. Turn on park lights and test light is what I like to do. One side hot, the other not and you have found the bad fuse. GM liked to run the wires to the rear in a loom on LH side of trunk at wheel housing. Its possible something has been stowed there shorting the loom or water is not draining causing rust and a short. Also if it has the rocker switches on the LH side of dash with the 2 separate rockers, the park light circuit is prone to problems. Have changed many of them. Hope this helps.

What year model and type of vehicle please?GM runs most all or the light functions thru the multi function switch and or the headlight control module and or body control module dependant on model or year.Starting with the fuse is always the first move then check for power at the bulbs. If a no go there then it really can get complex fast.

95 monte carlo z34. The fuse panel is on the side of the dash, but Im trying to find out wich one controls both the dash and the night lights(both are out, but break lights and headlights come on).

Thanks for the response.

Got your owner's manual? It will be listed there.
