I didn't see this posted here, but it might be buried in another thread. If so, I'm sorry.
It really struck me as strange, though. Makes me give more credibility to the manufactured pandemic theory.
Most Mexico fatal flu victims aged between 25-45
MEXICO CITY, April 24 (Reuters) - The majority of the people killed in Mexico's fatal flu outbreak were adults between 25 and 45 years old, a Mexican health official said on Friday.
"The majority were young adults between 25 and 45 years old," the official said under the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak with the press.
Mexican officials said 20 people had been killed by the outbreak in Mexico and 1,004 people had been infected. (Reporting by Mica Rosenberg and Miguel Angel Gutierrez)

I think that those age groups are the most healthy, so I believe I will say...
BINGO!

My wife has a Phd in immunology and she said that in younger folks that the immune system is much more aggressive in attacking the virus, but on the downside that leaves younger people open to other virus, such as pnemonia.
Hence, the higher death rate.

But, traditionally speaking, aren't the highest death rates among the very young and the very old?

Micah... the deal here is simple:
SOME viruses use the body's own defenses against it. It's called a cytokine storm, and it's deadly.
A cytokine storm uses the body's immune system against the body's cells. The stronger the immune system, the worse the effects.
In general, people have their strongest immune systems from their mid 20's to their early-to-mid 40's.
It happened in the 1918 pandemic (which, interestingly enough was also a H1N1 strain!!!!) and it may be the same now.
May God have mercy on us all!

It was this same age group who raised the death toll during the 1918 pandemic so that age group is not exclusive to today.

My mother was killed in the 1972 Hong Kong flu, she was a healthy 35 yo. It stopped her heart cold.

you are right. Interesting, plain English facts and stories at this link:

I don't remember learning that about the 1918 pandemic, but I am sure I must have heard it at some point in school.
It's almost more frightening to think of it that way, with all the children who would be orphaned, than it is to think of the very young and old dying.
Off to play with my little ones..

The 1918 Pandemic was most severe to people who were in the 25-40 year old group. The reason for this is that they had the strongest immune systems. The immune system is what attacked your body with this type of Flu. It has been noted that Alcoholics had low death rates during the 1918 Pandemic.

If someone manufactured something like this, why not just go straight for N. Korea and Iran??? Then Pakistan and Afghanistan? (after we bring our troops home)

Maybe! If I didn't have such an "addictive" personality. I'm already addicted to scrapbooking and TOL, will those help? 8)
