Pig flu virus may have killed 68 people
900 others thought to have been infected
BA crew member on Mexico flight rushed to hospital
Source of the outbreak is not yet known
Travellers with symptoms warned to contact GP

Tamiflu and Relenza both effective against the illness
Fears the deadly pig flu virus – which may have killed 68 people – could spread to Britain intensified tonight, after a member of cabin crew was taken to hospital with 'flu-like symptoms' after falling ill on a British Airways flight from Mexico City to Heathrow.
The man, who has not been named, has been taken to Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow, a hospital spokesman said.

He added: "He has flu-like symptoms and is responding well to treatment. The patient was admitted directly to a side room and the hospital is scrupulously following infection control procedures to ensure there is no risk to any other individual in the hospital."

The man was taken from flight BA242 which landed at 2pm today, a BA spokesman said.

A Health Protection Agency (HPA) spokesman said: "We are aware of a patient admitted to a London hospital with reported travel history to Mexico.

"As a precautionary measure the patient is being tested for a range of respiratory and other illnesses in line with UK health guidance. At present there have been no confirmed cases of human swine flu in the UK or anywhere in Europe."

A spokesman for Hillingdon Council, which is responsible for the health of people passing through Heathrow airport, said: "As the port authority for Heathrow Airport we already have Health Protection Agency doctors in each of the airport's terminals at all times.

To my way of thinking, they should have quarantined the entire human load of the aircraft...buy hey, what do i know?

Won't do any good. The horse is already out of the barn. With our highly mobile society what took 2 years to go around the world in 1918 could do the same in a matter of weeks to months.

Agreed... except try DAYS to HOURS.

In 1918, many people lived and died without ever travelling more than a few miles from where they were born.

Intercontinental travel was limited to the uber-rich, or the wretched poor on their one- and usually only- breakout attempt moving to a new frontier.

Even the 1918 epidemic may not have happened at the time if it wasn't for the war, and the "travel" and mass movements of people that entailed.

This is not sudden. The NWO have only now allowed news media to report it.
Time to cull the herd .. yep

Virus being experiment with from govt labs - as well as lab mice - have
'escaped' from labs during Hurricane Katrina - and several times since.
Most recently in NE USA.

I think we will know by Monday or Tuesday if this new flu is worth the panic shown on this board. I will wait until then to get concerned.

Los Alamos did a pretty through simulation, it appears that it peaks around 85 days.

Watch this video of the simulation. (http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2nh12rq&s=5)

I just got back from buying a crap load of food and produce. What worries me is school kids. The flu swept through our school system late last year. There were so many kids missing per class that they shut school down on a Friday and didn't open back till Tuesday.
