This stuff, is spreading just to fast, and it isn't going to states next to states where they have it, like it normally would, it is popping up in states hundreds of miles apart. this is just strange.

TY for heads up!
I live in southern MN, this is spreading like wildfire!
All those mass graves are about to be put good use.
Having a vaccine already waiting in the wings, means they expect heavy, mass casualties. Hang on to your hats folks!
TY to everyone here at TOL, for coming together during trying times!

What kind of makes me nervous, Aeromexico provides non-stop service between Seattle and Mexico City. If this spreads, it will spread at "500 miles per hour".

HOUSTON, April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Aeromexico, Mexico's largest airline, today announced it will inaugurate daily non-stop flights July 4 from Seattle to Mexico City and continuing service to Guadalajara, providing the only non- stop service between Seattle and Mexico.

"Aeromexico is excited to further expand our service between the U.S. and Mexico, opening a link from the great Pacific Northwest to the heart of Mexico," said Carlos De Uriarte, Aeromexico vice president of sales and marketing, USA and Canada. "The flight schedule is ideal to provide great connections through our major hub in Mexico City to the more than 40 business, colonial and beach destinations Aeromexico serves throughout Mexico.

"Our new service will also be very attractive to the substantial Hispanic market in the far Northwest U.S., providing great access for travelers to visit family and friends throughout Mexico," De Uriarte said.

Aeromexico will utilize the new generation Boeing 737-700 for the flights, which will depart Seattle's SeaTac International Airport daily at 8:30 a.m., arriving in Mexico City at 3:40 p.m. and then continuing to Guadalajara every day except Saturday, where it will arrive at 6:10 p.m. The return flight will depart Guadalajara at 3:00 p.m. each day except Thursday and stop in Mexico City, leaving the Mexican capital city daily at 6:00 p.m. and arriving back in Seattle at 9:35 p.m. The first flight will arrive from Mexico July 3 and the first departure from Seattle will be July 4.

Aeromexico is committed to consistently exceeding passengers' expectations and takes pride in its high level of service. All passengers, including coach class, enjoy traditional Mexican hospitality with meals, complimentary cocktails, exceptional in-flight service, and superior on-time performance.

For the most discriminating traveler, Aeromexico's Clase Premier first class cabin offers an exemplary travel experience featuring spacious seating, a personal entertainment system, gourmet dining and one of the best-rated selections of wines in the sky.

The airline's dedication and hard work recently earned it the "Best Airline Based in Central/South America and Caribbean" 2007 award from OAG at its Airline of the Year Awards. And, Aeromexico received the prestigious "Best Business Class to Mexico and Latin America" Readers' Choice 2006 Award from Business Traveler Magazine.

Odd you should mention the mass graves! That was the first thing that popped in my head when I first heard of this virus.

Ok....not to downplay all the flu worries, but please remember.....This is the USA....not Mexico....we have better living conditions and healthcare than them. I know it is not "the best healthcare" by far, but it really is better than Mexico.

I would not panic unless I started seeing deaths in the USA. I work in the ER and we are still seeing LOTS of Influenza A and B, still! Most have fever, chills, headache, body aches, poor appetite. Most are uncomfortable, but tolerating the symptoms with rest and fluids and fever management.

Please do not get yourself in a panic....be cautious, but remember....NO deaths in the USA.....until then, just be calm and cautious....

If you do visit the ER with flu symptoms, do not expect a cure. All we provide is fever management (you can take tylenol at home), maybe tamiflu (only within 24 hrs of symptoms), and occasionally IV fluids if we think you are dehydrated (most are not). So don't run to the ER and expect a cure.....we don't offer much, except perhaps a secondary infection from all the other sick people visiting the ER.

Best advice....try to rest, take fever medicine, light diet, and lots of fluids.....If you have shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, then come to the ER for help, otherwise you may be disappointed with the care you get in the ER. We have little to offer for the FLU......best to all....

This is very true now. It may not be true in two weeks. There are a limited number of hospital beds in the United States. There is an even smaller limited number of ventilators/respirators. If this thing spreads quickly and infects, oh say, maybe 10% of the population...welcome to Mexico - in the midst an epidemic.

Still NO deaths in the USA....I would be cautious, but not panic. A lot of good advice was on the board today.....I would have self care medications/herbals/preps etc. and just WATCH it all play out..

Being preppers here at the tree I know most of us stock
bleach, if not can't hurt to get some bleach and a plastic
spray bottle incase you want to sterilize if someone is sick,
throws up or has bad diarrhea. Rubbing alcohol
(isopropyl alcohol) in a spray bottle also kills airborne virus's
like the norovirus if someone is throwing up and also has diarrhea.

I have to be wary of the reports that we are getting from the media.

Remember, there will be no reports of deaths in the media until it cannot be contained. The purpose is prevent fear. I believe that it is nieve (not you in particular Sunflower, just generally) to think that we have the same strain as that in Mexico City and that there has been no deaths.

Watch closely..the next few days are decisive in how bad this thing really is. If we begin to see people dying--reports that is--in the US I expect it to turn into a cascade. Domestically if/when deaths are reported you will see the beginnings of quarantines in major cities, controlled movement, forced vaccinations/therapeutics.

I do, however, completely agree with your recipe for treatment and that you will get an equivalent care at home sans the respiratory distress.

I have personal experience with FLU this week. My youngest child has been sick with it. He had 4 days with high fevers and headaches. He is not a toddler, but middle school age. His fevers were 103-104F with headaches, chills, poor appetite, cough with phlegm in the back of his throat. I treated his symptoms with rest, fluids and motrin. The one thing that broke the fever was apple cider vinegar. After one dose (1tsp) the fever broke and so far has not returned (aprox. 24 hours now). He is still fatigued and his cough is lingering, but he is improving. His appetite has returned. :-D

I don't think the MSM is telling the truth, but I do think they like us to panic. We are easy to control if we panic and look to TPTB for help. jmho :-D

unfiltered apple cider vinegar should be in everyone's preps,
a chug a day too put into a glass of water the old timers swore by it to stay healthy. It also works as an anti-diarrheal mix
2-3 tablespoons in a glass of water. Good to know it breaks
fever too. The vinegar is just fine too if it develops a "Mother" in the bottle.
