Any guesses on the time table full spread on the Swine Flu?? When I was watching Outbreak it was a 48 hr just for the continental U.S.???

if it really does have a 5-day incubation period, and it really is of pandemic potential, it's probably pretty well spread already. another 5 days and I'd expect some real 'saturation' of symptoms.

There use to be a map floating around...you could click on it and it would show you how fast a pandemic could spread...i will go look for the URL, but I need breakie first

At this point, NO ONE knows.
The 1918 epidemic came in waves... the first, MILDEST wave was in spring/summer. It died out... and they thought it was over.
And then it came back... harder, more virulent and much, much more deadly.
Guys... even if this seems to "vanish"... this is a Marathon, not a sprint. IF we are blessed with a hiatus where our areas are uninfected, please, as much as you can, use that time wisely, to get/increase preps.

Given our extremely good transportation system, the POTENTIAL certainly exists to have covered the WORLD with "local index cases" 10 days of the first case being identified....
THIS is why the WHO has said that containment isn't a viable expectation.
