No pics, but our vehicles are all diesel and all have standard transmissions.
IMHO this combination is far and away the most economical, most reliable and the best choice for a survival vehicle.

i've always spent a lot of time checking out the manual transmission before buying a vehicle. Once you burn out an auto transmission thats it...finito. At least with a manual you always have a chance of getting it to move in some gear. Plus its possible to push start a manual, not so with an auto.

O4 ford F-250 diesel, and a restored "73" Ford F-100, both get terrible mileage!
