Now we can talk crafts here at the Tree! I look forward to discussing crocheting, sewing, beadwork, needlepoint, and whatever else we have here.

Oh wow! This is SO much better than trying to do a social group! I like this...so a big THANK YOU!!! giving us all a place to sew and do our crafts out in the open! I can see this being a very busy place, especially in the winter when we are all done with our canning and kitchen work. This is just so sweet!

Another BIG THANK YOU for making this room for us crafty folks. I love sewing, crocheting, painting and hopefully will someday be able to teach myself this knitting thing. Right now I've got a ton of unfinished projects that I've got to complete before starting anything new.

I always say that and end up starting something new anyway, and just figure I'll get to them someday.

LOL...might as well add me to that list too. I have drawers full and stacks of UFO's all over the place. I thought that was a requirement for being crafty?

Marsgate - UFO are Unfinished Objects and I, like most prolific knitters have tons. I'm getting better about taking them apart and using the yarn for something else, but they still tend to clutter my life.
I'm also so happy to have this room, the social group just was not working for this. We need to have space to post knitting patterns, weaving drafts, instructions for quilts etc. and there just was not room there.
I think this will be a lively spot this Winter!

I have always been of the understanding that UFO's were mandatory for all serious crafters! This is terrific, a crafters area!

UFO's! I feel better now. I thought I was the only one with lots of projects and none finished. I'm so happy to see this room. Yes, I think it will be very busy this winter. I sew(my clothes + grandbaby on the way), beginner quilter, crochet, and use knifty knitter looms.

Invar and Housewolf deserve thanks as well. I asked Invar and that got the ball rolling. Don't forget that awhile back Disaster Cat brought up a craft section as well. Thanks goes to many.

I have several projects going at once with my crocheting.
Disaster Cat- I too take things apart to start new projects, I just can't help myself.

Woohoo!!! This is great! Maybe now if I can get some time I can finish my crocheting projects, these doilies are begging to be finished, lol!
I also loom knit, but just haven't had time to do it, sigh.

I don't how I did it. But my comment was posted in the wrong thread. Sorry it was late and I didn't explain it. But, it looked funny stuck there with UFO's and all didn't it? I have a few boxes of UFO's myself....

I am going to enjoy this section too. I do beading and polyclay things as gifts and volunteer to make beautiful hearts4heroes which is a very worth cause if your interested look at their website. Linda runs the volunteers and she is wonderful. We all volunteer everything. Nothing is given to us to keep this fantastic love going to our troops. AL

Greetings~
I knit baby hats and donate them all over the US and world. Have made over 500 so far.
I make cards, Birthday and Get Well. I mail them out to the folks on my churches prayer list.
These are some of the crafts I have done in the past: dreamcatchers,
bracelets/necklaces, drums, leather pouches, feather art, dryed flower displays, Raised Pillow Art and doll making.
Glad to see all you crafters.:-D
Blessings.

I am going to love reading about you all doing crafts/sewing things.
Since the best I can do is use iron on double sided tape to 'sew,' I will just be a watcher.....but I will love watching! :-D

I am going to try my hand at making lip balm out of beeswax - I am also going to try and make hand cream. In fact, I was going to give it a try this weekend but other things came up, maybe next weekend.

Hats off to all you folks that can knit and crotchet, I have tried many times and just can't "get it" and teachers get frustrated trying to teach a lefty. I do sew but don't make clothing anymore just stuff for the house. So glad we not have this area.

Yay! Having a dedicated craft section is the reason that I joined here. Other boards don't seem to have that, or are dedicated to one craft only. Imo, life is too short for only one craft.
Thanks to all who started this area for all crafters...

Well...aren't we smart! This is a great section, and much needed. And I too thought I was a defective crafter for having so many unfinished projects!! Nice to know I'm normal. :-D
I mainly crochet wool hats and scarves, but occasionally do other stuff. And the beeswax lip balm sounds like a great idea. I bought some from someone online about 6-7 years ago, and I'm just now hitting the bottom of the little tin! A little goes a long way. The lip balm I have is "medicated" with something that makes my chapped lips burn, but helps heal. (Something menthol, I think.)

LOL grower, you wouldn't be a normal crafter if you didn't have a couple of unfinished projects laying around. I don't even want to count mine up.

LOL, the knitters call them UFOs, for Unfinished Objects. Right now I have part of the back of a vest and two different pairs of socks going! I wanted to make some Christmas ornaments, but where to find the time!
I have a problem with Stashoholism- I have stashes of things for multiple crafts. I used to do a lot of counted cross stitch. Now realize I have patterns and thread to last for another 30-40 years (and I'm 56!)
