I love that stuff! What kind of thread did you use do you remember?

Thank you!
As for the thread, I want to say fishing line or something similar. Those are a few years old now.

I used to do this kind of thing... before I became a mom (sorry, no pics) Now I don't seem to have much time for it, but it won't be long & my DD will be ready to learn. Gave her 1st lesson with the big ugly plastic beads just the other night, as a matter of fact :-D
I still wear some pieces I made back in the day... and I have a huge bead box, waiting on the top shelf of the closet like buried treasure, waiting to be rediscovered. Whatever new pieces I do will have to be made from my current stash... beads (at least the ones I like to use) are not exactly cheap!
Thanks for this thread, good motivation/inspiration. Definitely something to do when I'm snowed in this winter, or we are on quarantine!

I've been crocheting an afghan for Project Linus. I suppose this new thread is going to force me to drag it out and finish it, which I should have done long ago.
It is in a Mile-A-Minute pattern and I have made each stripe in a very bright different color edged all around in white. Actually, if I do say so myself, it is really pretty and some little kid would like to have it. Now I feel guilty.
The Project Linus Mission
Project Linus is comprised of hundreds of local chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States. Each volunteer and local chapter all work together to help us achieve our mission statement, which states:
First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”
Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
Together we have distributed over three million blankets to children in need since our inception in 1995.

Oops. I guess I should have started a new thread on crocheting or afghans or ? Shoot. Well, maybe someone will come along and move it? I meant well, anyhow.

Hi Mstini, I just sent a link on Linus to my DD. She is ill and doing a lot of crocheting right now because she can't do her usual very physical work with large and small animals at the hospital. I thought this might give her a lift in her spirits to know she can create beautiful with a cause that share love with the craft. AL

Nice beads, Midnight blue! I'd like to know what you used for thread and needle, too. Never did that, looks like so much fun.

Oh that is good. I hope she likes the idea. I am getting inspired all over again. All little kids need their "blankies" and Project Linus chooses especially needy children. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e14/Starrphyre/applause-boy.gif

I don't use a needle, just fishing line or something similar most of the time.
