I was at Hancock Fabrics on Friday and they have the pattern for chemo caps for $.25. The quarter is a donation to St. Jude's. I've never made anything with fleece before, but it looks pretty simple. It has directions for an adult and child size. I picked up some remnant fleece to make a couple.

With the early snow and cold, we might need a few of these.

I'm going to make some for the grandkids and the patients undergoing chemo at our area hospital. It was such a blessing to have the caps available for free at the cancer center when I took my sister-in-law for treatments.

That's a great idea! I have been thinking of trying to make some fleece hats, I will look for those patterns next time I have the chance. Also, fleece is fun to work with, I have made blankets, scarves and Christmas stockings with it so far.

the best part about fleece is you don't have to finish the edges which makes the work go that much faster! :-D

This sounds like fun....and with all the kool patterns fleece has, you would make a kid smile, for sure.

Our Hancock's closed a while back, so I can't go get that pattern. Could someone describe the chemo caps for me?

Thanks,

Carol

I would be interested in such a pattern, as well. I might be able to find a Hancock's, but if I can't, I'd gladly pay for one of those patterns (plus shipping, of course).

WOOOHOO!!! Found it on the net, no trip to Hancock's neccessary! Several patters; find the Chemo cap (and look at the revisions they reccommend) then click on the HERE, and there is the pattern. Looks easy enough, for sure.

If you knit, there's several knitted cap patterns that run around too!

Limner, thanks for finding the patterns!

I am glad to get the dimensions for the chemo caps! But I am planning to sew the pieces together like a neck roll bolster, with a tiny opening to turn it right-side out. Then it can be pushed double and it will be reversible.

If the nap on fleece fabric makes it slide out of shape, I can just tack the two circles together in a few places.

Wish I'd gotten a few half-yard pieces of fleece at WM before I went into self-quarantine!

Again, thanks!
