got word my dad had a stroke from a cartaroid artery blood clot
hes been in the hosp for since 3 am tuesday morn.
he is awake and coherant , but im naturally pretty worried about this.
please pray for his healing.
thanx in advance
( p.s. , my sis , had cataract surgery last week, and something must
have went wrong cuz now she has double/sometimes triple vision and
the docs cant seem to put enough brain cells together to figure out
what the problem is, so she needs prayer also. _)
My Dad had the same thing 15 years ago. Started as a TIA.
When the did an ultrasound they saw both his carotids were badly plugged- he should have died.
They did surgery within 24 hours on the right side and removed the plug. it was unbelievable. Then 2 weeks later they did the left one- same thing.
He was then place on a low fat/sodium/cholesterol diet, and instructed to ride a stationary bicycle for 30 minutes every day until he had lost 40 lbs (from 200lb). He religiously followed the Doc, knowing how close he came to the dirt. He really did look better, and seem much more healthy too. Then 2 years ago they told him he needed quad bypass. Once again he pulled through, and did all he could to recover his health. He's still with us, 77 years, but once you have these issues you need to be on the lookout for life. We're lucky and thankful he had good surgeons, and was able to keep going. Hopefully he'll be around for another 15 to watch the grandkids grow up!
Good luck to you too, and tell your dad this story. He can likely recover with good care and personal diligence.

thanks again for all your prayers
my dad was released from the hospital today.
no damage from the clot/stroke they say. they think the problem
may have been caused by a low heart beat rate.
they gave him a heart monitor and are going to look at the
record on monday.
so, hes out of the woods so to speak
thank you all for your prayers.
