That is very cute but I'd worry about the lice getting under the sweater and causing more harm than normal. I had five bald chickens this summer. Their rooster was a master of dominance. After he would have his way with them, he'd do a little dance and then for good measure bob them on the head and pull out head feathers. Grrrr.
Anyway, they have their new feathers now and seem fine. My theory is that the pullets first feathers are soft like puppy fuzz. When they get the second growth, those feathers might be more coarse to endure the unending attention!

I thought about little sweaters for ours...but thankfully, their feathers seem to be filling in right now. Our Rhode Island Reds developed the BAD habit of pecking each others backs before we got them, and looked naked this summer. I would CATCH them doing it....one would peck and the peckee would squauck and return the favor. VERY rude.

Too cool! I could make some flourescent green or pink ones to go on my black hens LOL. That would make the roosters go blind and leave them the heck alone!
