Ordered one of these. No, I don't have any interest in the company, but for 10 cents a battery, it was worth it.

Wife called, said they arrived today.

I'll post when I get a chance to test a few out.

It was the best bang for the buck. Mighty handy things for LED flashlights and headlamps.

Hey,

Another Hoosier. I live in the NW part. The batteries are packaged well in blister packs of 50 (40AA+10AAA) that are actually easy to open without a crowbar and hacksaw.

All I've tested (40) are working well. No duds. I am pleased to have restocked so cheaply. Yes, they are Chinese made, but half of the ones in the stores are also.

The AAA's work great in the led headlamps. Mighty handy to have, if you haven't added a couple of those to must have items.

Wow, that's a great deal. Now I'm going to have to figure out how to sneak an order in....the wife would kill me if I ordered more batteries. :D

It seems like a lot, but 3 or 4 years from now when the power is sporadically off and on you'll wish you had more.

Great idea! Any ideas on how long they will last if they are stored in a cool, dry place? Or, frozen?

When will the grid go down? Any guesses?

Thanks,

DrT

I am wondering how long they will last. It would be good to know.

Most batteries should last 2-4 years if keeped in a cool place. I guess it all depends as to the quality of materials in them...

I'm using AAs bought in 1999. They work just fine.

When it comes up time for rotation I will definitely have to consider that company. You can't have too many batteries. I know I want them for FRS/GMRS as well as Ham. Hopefully I can get enough juice from a couple solar panels to provide light with a couple Spiral Florescent in our house once the blackout curtains or Aluminum foil is in place. I just worry about the Spiral lights if there is an EMP event.

I currently have had great luck storing my batteries in the deep-freeze. They seem to work great, like new once removed from the cold. Plus they add a little "cold-inertia" to the freezer. One thing you might want to do if they are in a deep freeze you might want to wipe off any condensation before you deploy them. Until they reach room temperature they will tend to attract moisture from the air.

Also I too just used some Alkaline batteries that must be over 5 years old. They weren't in the deep-freeze, just the basement. They seemed to work fine.

For those of us who can't order online or don't
want to spend a lot of money at one time...stop at
the Dollar Tree, usually located close to a Walmart.
I picked up 8packs of AA and AAA batteries for a
dollar a pack, (12 cents each). This is a store where everything is a dollar. A little here, a little there and before you know it, you have have quite the inventory.
