"ACT OF WAR" ~ Brad Thor
After a CIA agent mysteriously dies overseas, his top asset surfaces with a startling and terrifying claim. There's just one problem— no one knows if she can be trusted.
But when six exchange students go missing, two airplane passengers trade places, and one political-asylum seeker is arrested, a deadly chain of events is set in motion.
With the United States facing an imminent and devastating attack, America's new president must turn to covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath to help carry out two of the most dangerous operations in the country's history.
Code-named "Gold Dust" and "Blackbird," they are shrouded in absolute secrecy as either of them, if discovered, will constitute an act of war.
Don't miss a minute of the action! Make sure you're signed up for the fast, easy-to-read Brad Thor monthly newsletter which includes great contests, awesome prizes, insider interviews, plus announcements before anyone else gets to see them. Sign up here: http://www.bradthor.com/enewsletter
I've just finished The Circle by Dave Eggers, author of other well-recieved books.
The Circle is a young company that seems loosely modeled on a creepy mash-up of Google, You-Tube and Facebook. As you might imagine, there are privacy issues.

Currently reading "The Scratch of a Pen" by Colin G. Calloway. Covers the transformation of America surrounding the events of the French and Indian Wars, the signing of the Peace of paris and the year 1763.
"Liberty and Freedom" by David Hackett Fisher. A visual history of America's founding ideas.
"His Excellency: George Washington" by Joseph J. Ellis. An excellent take on the one and only.
Essays on Liberty, 1952, by the Foundation for Economic Education.
Some pretty good stuff here, even after all this time. Includes a couple of Communist works, evidently in the spirit of know-thy-enemy.
