Yes it was. Do you have one?

For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.” [May 1765 Speech to the House of Burgesses] Patrick Henry

I'm making tinctures and dividing herbs and planting at friends' houses.

Shepherd's Purse is high in vitamin K and is good for internal and external hemorrhaging.

    Bless up.

Did a complete inventory of all herbs, supplements, tinctures. Reorganized, relabeled, replenished, discarded a little bit. This was a good review. Got everything in a more consolidated manner like all Vit C bottles together, etc.

Made a list of items to get replaced ASAP.

Today I will continue in the same manner with the food preps. I found of late several cans of tuna that even though they still had another year good date and NO pull tops..........the cans clicked.....tossed them out.

I had a lot of stuff scattered about due to several moves and getting lazy in keeping up with the prep situation..........now more orderly. It gives one a good feeling and boosts confidence in reviewing the preps with a recent inventory.

Now I know exactly where I stand with that.

That's one of the main items on my fall "to do" list. With all the noise about Codex, and them banning the sale of "unapproved" herbs in Europe, I figure it's only a matter of time before they manage to do that here. I really never believed it would be possible (given the multi-million/billion dollar industry "supplements" are in the US) but after seeing a whole bunch of bills passed I'd never have believed possible... well, I no longer think it's completely out of the question.

We have a few things I can't grow that we use regularly, and I want to be sure I have as much stocked as possible. But right now, I don't know WHAT I have. And with limited funds, it's silly to buy more of something I have plenty of (but can't find!) and end up running out of something we really need.

My food preps are in good order, but the rest needs attention.

I harvested a bunch of Comfrey, which I allow to dry a bit overnight, to reduce moisture before I use it for my Comfrey Oil. In order to keep up with demand for my Oil & Salve, I now am staggering my batches and do plan to reserve plenty for us. I've already dried a lot of it, and have much more to harvest. As the Dill seeds dry on the plants, I harvest them, just today a lot more. The birds have been after my sunflowers, so harvested more of them today, picked a big bowl of green beans, weeded my "salad bowl" area (last salad mix greens before the first frost), finally harvested my Rhubarb, and endeavoring to harvest herbs daily.

On the same page with some of you, as so many bills have passed, wondering when the sale of herbs being restricted or banished is next! I have been doing research to determine just how many herbs I need to grow, which will in our zone, in order to prepare my natural remedies. Turns out we have a great weed selection to use, already.

    CANNING!

7 pints of screaming hot salsa done.

7 qts of bean soup in the canner now. That much more for the second batch.

Then a giant batch of beef stew that should yield another 14 qts.

12 hours in the kitchen. Ahhh, a day well spent!

I experienced a lot of aggravation and disappointment....without killing anybody. I think that's good prep!
