Raspberries gratefully accepted, Summerthyme, especially if they're freeze-dried!

BigFootsCousin, it's true about the cheap S&H from Honeyville. But there's a lot more available in the retail store than on the website. I also get free samples and, if I pay in FRNs, I don't leave a data trail.

    Sorry. Still gloating.

    Just PM me.
It won't be until spring, if we do I'll send you message, and thank you for the offer!

(I know this recipe probably belongs in "The Kitchen," but I posted it for you here since we were on the subject and you needed some way to make a good onion ring.)

For onion ring batter, try Drakes http://www.drakesbattermix.com/
Here's a recipe I use for fish, and it works great for onion rings too:

    English Fish Batter
(from my friends, David & Barbara Freeman - Solihull, England)

    2 Cups flour
    1 Tbsp Baking Powder
    ½ tsp Salt
    Pepper to taste
    1 egg
12 oz Soda Water (can use beer for a beer batter if you wish)

Beat egg in a separate bowl, set aside.
Mix all dry ingredients together EXCEPT for Baking Powder
Add the soda water and egg to dry ingredients and fold until smooth. (Fold gently, so as not to beat carbonation out of soda water)
Now add baking powder and incorporate gently but thoroughly.

Dip cod, Pollock, or Haddock fillets, coating entire fillet and fry in oil (360 to 375 degrees) until done golden brown.

Serve with malt vinegar, English chips (steak fries), and tartar sauce.
thank you and yes this does fall under the category of prepping cause I don't have any soda water on hand, will have to stock up on more beer I see!

Bought a few more lightbulbs. Also, think I'm crazy (because I have teen daughters), but I bought a few baby items on clearance. No... I'm not wishing my girls were married yet or pregnant, but I don't think it hurts to prep ahead if you find a good deal. Also bought more socks and shirts to store away for hubby.

More rice and beans. And lots of socks and underware--we're ready
