Default Isis, Mobile Wallet: The end of credit cards is coming

The end of credit cards is coming

    January 24, 2011: 11:00 AM ET

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Credit cards may soon be as outdated as vinyl records. (Remember those?) And this is the year that the slow, steady march to oblivion begins.

You can already use your iPhone, Droid or BlackBerry to buy a hotdog at the ballgame, buy your Starbucks latté, or give a friend a few bucks by Bumping phones. But by the end of the year you may not even think twice about reaching for your phone to pay at the register instead of fumbling for your credit card.

One step closer to the electronic cashless society. No one will be able to buy or sell without the number... I do not have any such phone or mobile device. And I never intend to have one. If it comes down to this as being the only option for credit then I will pass on the credit. But at some point then all transactions will be cashless. So tell me what happens if you don't pay your bill on that mobile device(Or you have a dispute). Do you you lose the ability to go with visa at the checkout?

I will worry when you have to have your phone number tattoed to your hand or forehead.

Bah, CNN Money is late to the ballgame.

I wrote this back in November of last year.

Why is owning pets better than owning kids? Because if they get pregnant, you can sell their children.
