Banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. - Thomas Jefferson

"Items found in Jose Guerena's house included: a Colt .38-caliber handgun, paperwork, tax returns, insurance papers, bank statements and a bank card, reports showed."

So .... this was a good shoot. Saves the county $$$ not having to rent a court room or buy a judge to deal with the likes of this scoundrel.

The investigation into this young mans involvement must have taken minutes if not an hour or two, good work fellas.

I think that about covers it.
Imagine a man in his OWN HOME,my home is my castle, holding a gun, responding to someone breaking down his front door. When you train your police( remember the saying "to protect and serve") to be like your military you get a lot of collateral damage. Nobody really cares about it because it's just part of protecting you.

Actually the thugs got better than they deserved - this poor fellow held fire for a critical second.

Moral: Don't draw if you are not ready to shoot. Don't shoot if you are not ready to kill.

They call it "Dynamic Entry". It's actually Home Invasion. And Home Invaders get shot. It's called justifiable homicide, or self defence.

    Frm first linked article:

"The reports state Jose Guerena; his brother, Alejandro; and Jose Celaya were named as suspects in briefings given to officers before the search warrants were served. Many of the officers' reports refer to the sheriff's long-term drug investigation as the reason for the search warrants."

Oh look it's the War On Drugs again. And they are after the Killer Weed, marijuana!

    Weasel-worded horse**** warning!

"Reports show about $100,000 in cash, marijuana and firearms were seized that morning from the four homes that were searched.

Items found in Jose Guerena's house included: a Colt .38-caliber handgun, paperwork, tax returns, insurance papers, bank statements and a bank card, reports showed.
    "

Note the "clever" grouping of the total take with that found in the Victim's house!

Oh and check it out, it's our old buddy Sheriff Clarence Dupnik running the show. Mister Clarence "Arizona I think has become sort of the capital. We have become the mecca for prejudice and bigotry" Dupnik. Gee, who'd think letting a MORON like that supervise men with guns would be a problem?

Home invasion theft/Home invasion warrants....(they are essentially identical) leave
very very little in the way of options for the homeowner. He can lay down and
maybe die at the hands of a criminal posing as LEO or he can resist and die by the hands
of a criminal hiding behind a badge. Either way he runs the very very real and significant chance of dying.

The only thing to do besides fight and hope to get lucky is to make the house so
impregnable that the time needed for the entry team to actually gain entrance is
so ridiculously long that the homeowner has the time to dial 911 tell dispatch his
house is being broken into and he is about to open fire.....maybe, just maybe dispatch
will call the entry team and tell them they no longer have the element of surprise (sic).

It's reaching the point where a homeowner will need to deploy claymores and tripwired
flame throwers to keep from getting murdered in the middle of the night by LEO.

In reading back over this thread, I think all the hemming and hawwing about what Jose SHOULD have done is nothing but cover.

It's cover for us not doing what ought to be done.
