Darn good one MUD! Sure makes me think of community rather than isolation by family.

My take, and has been for years, that within the first 90 days of a total societal breakdown that the USA could lose as much as 2/3s of the population.
With that I see disease running rampant through population centers that could take even more people.

Disease is a likely probability - especially among diverse populations with widely varying personal hygiene. Spoiled food is another likely source. You're starving and you've found some food .... Is it safe to eat? Who cares!
