2Tim. 3:1 ¶ But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

Every year I drive to california, unlike the NE the WEST is a vast place.
How long does it take you to drive to the next state? It takes me 8 hours. It takes 21 hours of driving to reach southern Cal.
I drove to kali last January, it took 3 days and cost over $1000.
But your right, that lady should have taken the train
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
“As a general rule, the earlier you recognize someone is trying to kill you, the better off you’ll be.”
"You think a wall as solid as the earth separates civilisation from barbarism. I tell you the division is a sheet of glass."

Off topic?
so.. we can discuss the problem, but not a solution?
where does that get us?
The more people submit to TSAs outrages the more outrageous they will become. That's just the way tyranny grows, little by little.

I've flown recently because I needed the work. The contract is on the opposite coast, and there's no way to drive there and back ( repeatedly ) in any reasonable fashion.
I've made three trips now, and always refuse the porno scanner. They go through several required spiels every time:
* The scanner emits 1/10,000th the energy of a cell phone
* The scanner does not record anything
Then, when going through the inevitable pat-down, they tell you everything in advance, and the whole "back of the hand" thing that's supposed to somehow make it better.
They always ask if there's a sensitive or painful part of my body beforehand. I always say, "My entire body." They don't appreciate that, and react in one of three ways:
* Threaten to stop altogether ( implying I won't get through security )
* Exasperation
* Explain that the scanner doesn't touch me
I then always let them know that I object, but am submitting - under duress.
Yesterday, the barely-English-speaking agent asked if I was going home. I asked him if I was required to answer the question.
He constantly said "OK" - like "I use back of hand now, OK?" I answered "NO, it is NOT OK, but I am submitting."
Etc.
Another idiotic thing they do is at the very beginning the procedure is you go to a little table and hand them your ticket and ID. They make a big production of placing the ID in the air next to your face and looking at you. Then they flash a blue light on the ID to verify it hasn't been hand-assembled ( cuts and such will show up ). Then they scribble on your ticket - frequently obscuring flight or gate details ( I'm not making that up ).
Then, they ask you "What is your name?" - Like you'd forget your alias if you were a crook or something. It's stupid.
Yesterday, in San Francisco, the guy in front of me kept pointing at his ticket / ID. Like 4 times. It was clear that he was telling the guy that his name is right in front on the ticket and ID, why ask such an inane question.
Finally, the agent gave up and waved him through. Interestingly, he opted out in front of me, and we stood in no-mans-land between the metal detector and porno-scanner while awaiting "male assistance."
I tried to strike up a conversation, but the TSA would not allow it. ( ! )
My strategy is to give them just as hard a time as possible while not actually jeopardizing my flight. I constantly let them know that it's a violation of my person without probable-cause and a violation of my 4th amendment rights. Most nod in an exasperated way.
I did engage my pat-down agent in Oregon in conversation. He seemed fixated on the idea that the porno-scanners were "safe."
I told him that he was working under a false assumption - namely that the only objection people could have to the porno scanner ( which I repeatedly called it during the conversation ) was its safety.
I told him that there were two other major objections - namely - stripping naked in front of strangers, and the whole violation of one's personal privacy by strangers.
I doubt I made any progress, but I did give due notice.
After this contract, I will again refuse to fly. The last time I flew before last month was 2005. The airlines have lost many thousands of dollars of business from my family alone.
It IS hurting them. Seven years ago, the planes were bigger. 737's were the smallest cross-country planes that I recall. Now, a 737 is a BIG plane. I flew an Airbus 321 from San Francisco to Philly - a pretty big plane. But westbound, only a 737.
Two trips ago, the cross-country plane was a Embraer 170 - a regional jet built in Brazil. Holds about 80 passengers. Almost all the other planes are Canadair and Embraer regional jets ( with one turbo-prop thrown in ). The planes are full, because they are 1/2 the size of 7 years ago.
For what it's worth.

Same thing with Alaska. Maybe connected but often impassable.
Funny thing is I have flown several times with a TENS machine. Without it sitting in a seat for 12 hours locks up my back. It would make a great detonator and yet even when I pulled it out so TSA could look at it...wires, sticky pads, electrical stimulator...they just ignore it and let me go on.
No common sense but a FEDGOV for life job.
