    Default Good lunch

I had lunch at the local diner with a gentle man. Soft spoken, humble and almost angelic. We got to talking about the state of affairs. He told me he had been a ball turret gunner in a B 17 stationed in North Africa and flew 15 missions. Got shot down twice. Once he ditched in the Adriatic Sea the day before Christmas. Some of his crew perished. He spoke with tears in his eyes for the decline of the country he loved. He'd been a democrat most of his life but Buba and Zerobama had changed that. He remembered the shoe pounding at the UN when Nikita Kruschev said he would destroy us from within. He said we were close to it. But he was motivated to stop it. The moral of the story is that patriotism is being awakened by the deeds of this pack of thieves that have usurped power. Good people still outnumber the OWS crowd. It took a moron like Carter to bring about the Reagan revolution. Obama will bring about change, just not the change Obama wanted.

Throw in hundreds, if not thousands, of dead Mexicans on that side of the border

I actually see that as good in one way: at least we will KNOW the waiting is over. They want to free us of weapons, and I see that as time for "weapons free"...

A combination of northern Ireland and the Balcans all rolled up in one big coast to coast bloodbath.

Default On a larger scale (and related to my personal good news)...

There are millions of liberals, gender feminists, lesbians, gay men, radical environmentalists, animal rights nuts, socialists, etc., that did not have children, and are getting older every day.

Good short/medium-length essay on this, by a liberal who is not entirely happy about it:

Meanwhile, my wife and I have a pair of healthy twin babies (one girl, one we're not yet sure boy or girl) well on the way, due this summer. They'll be homeschooled by a stay-at-home mother and a working father, both Christian, with conservative (Founding Father type) principles kept in mind all along. Oh, and they'll be taught to read with phonics, of course, and will never lack for books.

Never forget the key word. Obama hasn't gone after the Second Amendment in a big way YET. The day is coming, and Romney is just as anti-gun as Obama.

That piece of good news brought a smile to my face.

True. And not all of those people at the very busy gun shows are moral upright citizens with good intentions.

But this is a thread for positives, shame on you!

Thankful I still have a job and even though the construction part is pretty slow, we are starting a new venture by growing hydroponic vegetables and it looks to be a promising venture!

I am going to vote today for the most conservative candidates for my area, along with my presidential hopeful candidate.

It is a beautiful day and Spring has sprung here in Lower Alabama - the azaleas have bloomed, along with many other flowers, the grass has already had to be mowed, and it looks like the rest of the week is going to be around the low 80s!
