These might be legitimate questions but it rubbed me wrong.

I think this store has great potential. The first time I took my daughter to Lane Bryant she felt so good coming out with decent clothes. I don't condone being obese but it doesn't help anyone to have nothing but sweats and t-shirts to wear if you are. I agreed with the model at the end that if you feel good in your clothes you are more likely to get out, experience life and do things rather than go into hiding.
It's amazing how she can judge. One day her figure may not be perfect and she will see what her words did to others. Wonder where her selfestem will be.

Talking Just bought some items that I love from here ...

The "Woman Within". I love their items. Well made and ... I bought their Large and guess what? It honestly still fit AFTER it was washed.

I recently bought a new pair of pjs at Wal-Mart. I bought a size 1x cause I can NOT stand tight things to sleep in. I just sew up the sides of the bottoms if they are too big.
Well ... six washes later and they are now smaller than my old L
sizes which are many years old and so many washes later I couldn't count.

They also give lots of good discounts.

They carry everything for bigger women. Including bathing suits and bras and some sports stuff.

I imagine that her self esteem stares back at her from the bottom of the toilet as she forces herself to barf up recently consumed goodies.

That's what I like about ethnic clothing - saries (spell?), Amish and Mennonite dresses, some of the wrapped skirts you see African women in, indigenous Mexican dress, and the Hawaiian dresses. Hawaiian women tend to be very large, but some of the prettiest women I've ever seen were wearing those typical long floral ruffled dresses.

Lovely and dignified at the same time.

fwiw I wasn't gloating. I unfortunately know a LOT of women who do this and it all goes back to their fathers patting them on the rear end and telling them that they'd be more lovable if they were thinner. I've worked with a lot of them in an eating disorders counciling group at church, if they're not puking their starving themselves.

Why do so many men do this? Do they see it as some form of paternal "though love"? My OWN father enjoyed making embarrassing comments - esp. when I was in puberty, and he was otherwise an ordinary decent man.

BF told his obese nine year old niece that she would be thinner if she lived with us (her mother literally stuffs the girl with junk food). Maybe he thought it was a "teaching" sort of comment???? I told him that obnoxious comment was absolutely NOT ok!

Instead of calling it "Plus Sizes" --I think it should be called "Fatty Fashion" or possibly....

    Fried Foods Fashion.
    1 Liter Pepsi Plus Sizes.
    Funnel Cake Fashion.
    Planetoid Pants.

    You get the idea.

If you read the OP this thread is NOT about fat bashing or how you feel superior to those of us that struggle with losing weight.
