Smile I am in need for some help - with chocolate chip cookies

I bake up a really good batch of cookies...

Never had any complaints until my daughter took some to sell to try and raise some funds. The kids said that they were too dry. I did not think so but...then again that is my opinion.

Anyways......I am wondering if there is a secret ingredient that helps cookies to be moist and stay moist after cooking?

I have heard that a bit of Mayo in cake batter helps to keep THAT moist....is it the same for cookies?

Any help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you use real butter and eggs?

    Yes I do.

    2 eggs

2 sticks of butter (plus a lil' slice more for that extra bit of flavor)

I follow the recipe pretty much to the 'T'. Most of the time they come out soft enough but these kids are wanting a bit softer I guess. Maybe if I used a ton of preservatives, huh?

Ovens vary. Maybe lower the temp, or take cookies out earlier? Also, some people like those insulated Teflon coated baking sheets.

Some recipes call for Crisco. Could that be it? I'm not much of a baker - I don't know the chemistry.

    You can't please everyone.

Use oil instead of butter. Makes them soft and chewy.

I stay pretty busy as the cookie quality control expert for this outfit but might be able to take on a few more. Should I send you my address in a PM?

Butter tends to make cookies crispy. Adding a bit of Crisco (yeah, I know... I don't like it either!) helps make them soft and chewy.

Summerthyme (today's kids have NO idea what cookies made with real butter taste like)

Just a difference of a few minutes will do that.
This is true. If you want them chewy, pull them out when they're brown on the bottom, but still pale and "poofy" on top. As they cool, they collapse, and the result is a chewier cookie.
