    Effete: affected, overrefined, and ineffectual; see "Chris Hayes." OK, I appended the name of the MSNBC host to the dictionary definition. But if ever you wanted to see the human embodiment of the adjective in action, have a look at the video from his MSNBC show this morning of the too-refined-by-half Hayes explaining why he is "uncomfortable" in calling America's fallen military members "heroes."

    I bet Hayes would be just as uncomfortable calling fallen LEO, Firefighters or Paramedics 'Heroes' as well.

    they have the worst ratings of any if you want to call them news. liberal or conservative i dont care! they are total crap to me!

    I'd venture a guess that anyone who intentionally evaded serving the country in the military... "risking life and limb just because" feels "uncomfortable" calling even living, breathing veterans "heroes"! All the real men in my family (and that includes just about all of them) served proudly in WWII. Everyone in my high school class (all mens school) and anyone deserving respect at that time served during the Vietnam "conflict".

    Respect is earned but unless you're a "progressive", it's certainly not earned by being a weanie!
