Default FREE E-BOOKS: the official thread

we are going to start posting the free e-books here in the library now so there is a central place for everyone can come and check for the newest free e-books. anyone can post the free books! and, you do not need a kindle to read the kindle books from amazon. there are links on the right side of the amazon page for any book that offer free apps to download and read the books for free!

remember to check here often as new books are always added

    ADVISORY:

the free e-books are great, BUT....make sure you get then while you can. a few of them are free all the time, or for a very long time, but most are not. DO NOT WAIT. if you see something you think you will want, get it right away.

if you should miss a free book, many times, the price is still VERY low. often for only $.99! still a great deal for the right book!

we also have set up a lending library at the top of the library for lending e-books.

Another great place for free ebooks is Gutenberg.org
They will all be classics, though.
    Usually prior to 1923.
Plato once said, “Wise men speak because they have something to say. Fools, because they have to say something.”

"Fere libenter homines id quod volunt credunt." "Men willingly believe what they wish to believe."

they can be printed out. However, there is a catch. Below is what
Amazon says about printing from a Kindle device:

    start quote

    Printing

You can print one page at a time by clicking the Print button on the
Amazon Online Reader toolbar. It's not possible to specify a range of
pages when printing. The total number of pages that can be printed is
subject to publisher-approved limits and varies from book to book. A
bibliographic attribution will automatically be printed at the bottom of
    each page.

    end quote

For a bunch of the books, the limitations above, may not be too bad. I
did download an e-book the other day that was around 418 pages. Not
    something I would mess with.

This is why I have always said that having the actual paper book in your
library is usually better than any other format. Like me, I download
e-books, pdf's, text files and so on all the time. I also have over
5,000 books and about a 1,000 magazines in my personal Library. Sure, it
is a fire hazard and most of them can't be bugged out with. I do though,
live at my retreat 24/7. So except for two possible reasons, I won't be
bugging out from here. Hence, the books and magazines stay here, where
they can be read, if there is an EMP event.

just to let everyone know, you CAN copy and print recipes from any of the cookbooks that are kindle cookbooks!

(or any book for that matter)

i suppose many already knew that, but i didn't and if i didn't, then probably someone else did not either.

anyways.... highlight the portion you want to copy, then click on the button that will show up that says copy. then open your notebook in your computer under accessories, and paste it in the notebook and save and print! that way, you won't have to either write down a page of instructions, or else keep running back and forth from the kitchen to the computer like i am LOL

and, if there are certain ones you want to keep special, then you can print and make up your own favorite recipes book
