On the other hand, I'm reminded of Orson Welles' "War of the Worlds" when I consider the future probabilities. The Martian invaders Achilles' heel was an inherent part of their very nature, a vulnerability to Earth's bacteria. By it's very nature the progressive dream is doomed.
