Memorized prayer is very important for any person in recovery of alcohol, drugs, cancer or any disease.
Saying the Rosary has saved millions of lives for this reason. Memorized prayer only serves as one aspect of Faith friend. Do not judge me or any another God fearing Christian or Catholic... or any person for that matter friend.
We have enough atheists in this world to concentrate our efforts on other than infighting.

The TRUTH:

The Lord's Prayer was an outline of how to pray, not a verbatim rote to memorize.
The Hail Mary, Glory Be to the Father....all vain repetitons. Thank God He delivered me from that and gave me a personal relationship with Him
As for the "ideology" accusation....we have just learned that it means "philosophy".
