Russia Prepares for Nuclear War With U.S., Instructing Citizens to Buy Water and Gas Masks

    April 11, 2018

Russian state-owned television is urging the country’s residents to stock their bunkers with water and basic foodstuffs because Moscow could go to war with Washington.

Warning that the potential conflict between the two superpowers would be “catastrophic,” an anchor for Russia’s Vesti 24 showed off shelves of food, recommending that people buy salt, oatmeal and other products that can last a long time on the shelves. Powdered milk lasts five years while sugar and rice can last up to eight years, the newscaster explained before showing videos of pasta cooking in a bomb shelter.

The channel's newscasters also displayed charts explaining how much water people need to store for drinking, washing their face and hands, and preparing food every day—and how that amount changes depending on the temperature of a person’s bomb shelter. The program also recommended that people stock up on gas masks and read guides on how to survive nuclear war.

The program aired just one day after sources told Newsweek that “there is a major war scare” in Moscow, as President Donald Trump prepares to strike Syria in retaliation for the use of chemical weapons against civilians over the weekend. The Trump administration has said it believes Syria’s Russian-backed President Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the attacks, and it plans to ensure that Assad pays the price. Russian military forces have responded by saying that Moscow would meet fire with fire and said that it will shoot down any U.S. missiles.

"If there is a strike by the Americans, then the missiles will be downed and even the sources from which the missiles were fired,” warned Alexander Zasypkin, Russia’s ambassador to Lebanon, during an interview on Tuesday with a television station linked to Hezbollah.

The increasingly bellicose rhetoric has sparked fears that a conflict could break out between two nuclear-armed superpowers. On Wednesday morning, Trump took to Twitter to issue a stark warning to Russia, which he accused of partnering with “a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!”

But he later walked back the statement, calling for an end to the arms race with Russia.

China says advanced DF-26 missile deployed but
    By The Associated Press
    BEIJING — April 26, 2018, 7:52 AM ET

China's advanced DF-26 intermediate-range ballistic missile has been incorporated into its rocket force, boosting its ability to counter opponents on land and at sea, a defense ministry spokesman said Thursday.

The missile is capable of lofting both conventional and nuclear warheads, the latter to carry out a rapid retaliatory strike, ministry spokesman Wu Qian told reporters at a monthly news briefing.

The missile is believed to have a range of up to 4,000 kilometers (2,500 miles), leaving vulnerable the crucial U.S. military installations on the island of Guam, along with other bases in the region.

Despite that, Wu said China remained firm in its defensive military posture, including a policy of never launching a nuclear first strike against an opponent.

China's missile force is largely designed to degrade Taiwan's defenses in a move to conquer the self-governing island, while holding off U.S. military support.

Included in the arsenal is the DF-21D, which is built to take out an aircraft carrier, and a new air-to-air missile with a range of some 400 kilometers (249 miles) that could attack assets such as early warning aircraft and refueling tankers crucial to U.S. Air Force operations.

China flexes muscles with 'Guam killer' missile; new drills near Taiwan
    Philip Wen, Ben Blanchard
    April 26, 2018 / 4:02 AM / Updated 22 minutes ago
    Reuters

BEIJING (Reuters) - China confirmed on Thursday that it had put into a service a new missile that Chinese media has dubbed the “Guam killer” for its ability to hit the U.S. Pacific Ocean base with a conventional or nuclear weapon.

China is in the midst of an ambitious modernisation programme for its armed forces, developing stealth fighters, aircraft carriers and advanced missiles as it strives to become a world class military by the middle of the century.

That, along with an increasingly assertive stance in the disputed South China Sea and around Taiwan, claimed by China as its sacred territory, has rattled nerves around the region and in Washington.

Speaking at a regular monthly news conference, Defence Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said that the military had begun putting into service the DF-26 intermediate range ballistic missile - called the “Guam killer” by media and defence experts.

Wu gave few details, aside from that it can carry conventional as well as nuclear warheads and attack targets on land or at sea with precision.

China has made little secret of the DF-26 programme. The missile appeared in a major military parade in Beijing in 2015.

In a separate announcement, China’s air force said that its aircraft had again flown around Taiwan, the latest in a series of exercises Taiwan has described as military intimidation.

Taiwan is one of China’s most sensitive issues and a potential military flashpoint.

Over the past year or so, China has ramped up military drills around democratic Taiwan, including flying bombers and other military aircraft around the island.

The Chinese air force said in a statement it scrambled fighter jets, early warning aircraft, reconnaissance planes and H-6K bombers from multiple airports for “combat military drills” on Thursday.

The air force said its H-6K bombers had conducted numerous drills circling Taiwan since April 18 “to improve its ability to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity”.

Taiwan’s Defence Ministry said it sent planes and ships to monitor the activity and ensure its maritime and airspace security, and there were no “abnormal situations”.

China’s hostility towards the island has grown since the 2016 election of President Tsai Ing-wen from the pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party.

China has been issuing increasingly strident calls for Taiwan to toe the line, even as Tsai has pledged to maintain the status quo and keep the peace.

On Wednesday, China’s Taiwan Affairs Office, said drills near Taiwan were designed to send a clear message to the island, and China would take further steps if Taiwan independence forces persisted in doing as they pleased.

Defence Ministry spokesman Wu repeated that statement, and added his own warning.

“Engaging in Taiwan independence is a dead end,” he said.

China says further steps ready to target Taiwan independence
    By The Associated Press
    BEIJING — April 25, 2018, 9:03 AM ET

China is prepared to take further steps to counter perceived moves by self-ruling Taiwan toward formal independence following recent war games aimed at intimidating the island's leaders, the government said Wednesday.

Signals sent by the military exercises "are extremely distinct and clear," the spokesman for the Cabinet's Taiwan Affairs Office, Ma Xiaoguang, told reporters at a bi-weekly news briefing.

"We have the firm will, complete confidence and sufficient capability to frustrate any types of Taiwan independence schemes or actions and protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity," Ma said.

"If the Taiwan independence forces continue to act however they wish, we will take further actions," he said.

Responding to Ma's comments, Taiwan's equivalent Cabinet agency, the Mainland Affairs Council, said Chinese "military pressure and threats are a provocation and sabotage of the status quo of peace in the Taiwan Strait and region."

"Only through abandoning military threats, facing up to the reality of political division between the sides and undertaking pragmatic communication and dialogue can we help heal the differences between the sides," it said in a statement.

Taiwan denounced the exercises last week in the Taiwan Strait dividing the sides as a threat to regional peace and stability and said it would make no concessions.

China claims Taiwan as its own territory and says the two sides, separated during a civil war in 1949, must eventually be united, by force if necessary. Any potential conflict could quickly draw in the United States, since Washington is legally bound to respond to threats to the island's security and is its chief supplier of foreign military hardware.

China's authoritarian Communist government severed ties with Taipei almost two years ago after independence-leaning President Tsai Ing-wen refused its demand to recognize the democratic island as a part of Chinese territory.

Long-simmering tensions between the sides have spiked again in recent weeks. Beijing was especially angered by comments by Taiwan's premier, William Lai, in parliament that he's a "Taiwanese independence worker."

Chinese officials have also denounced the recent passage of a U.S. law encouraging more high-level government contacts with Taiwan, saying that violates U.S. commitments not to restore formal exchanges severed when Washington switched diplomatic recognition from Taipei to Beijing in 1979.

Ties have also been roiled by U.S. plans to provide Taiwan with submarine manufacturing technology, a proposed arms sale and the appointment of hawkish U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton.

Along with the recent war games involving aviation units of the People's Liberation Army ground force, China has stepped up air force training flights around Taiwan and increased naval activity in the South and East China seas.

Diplomatically, it has blocked Taiwan from taking part in international forums it used to attend and has sought to squeeze the island's tourism industry by cutting back on the numbers of Chinese visitors traveling there.

"I will give you the land with all the people, but you must free Taiwan
of the Americans. Do not fear, we will attack them from behind."

A voice said to me, "Watch where the Russians penetrate America."
I saw these words being written - Alaska, Minnesota, Florida.

"When America goes to war with China, the Russians will strike without warning."

The other two presidents spoke, "We, too, will fight for you."
Each had a place already planned as a point of attack.
All of them shook hands and hugged. Then they all signed a contract.
One of them said, "We're sure that Korea and Cuba will be on our side, too.
Without a doubt, together, we can destroy America."

China would not rule out first strike, since they mention no first strike with nukes.

Ie first wave will be conventional and then maybe nukes in the second wave...

Taiwan air force scrambles as Chinese bombers fly round island

TAIPEI--Taiwan's air force scrambled aircraft on Friday as Chinese bombers flew around the self-ruled island, just a few hours after Taiwan vowed not to be cowed having lost another diplomatic ally amid growing Chinese pressure.

Taiwan is China's most sensitive territorial issue and a potential dangerous military flashpoint. China claims the island as its sacred territory and has vowed not to allow any attempts at what it views as Taiwan separatism.

Tension between democratic Taiwan and its big neighbor has increased in recent months, with China suspicious the administration of President Tsai Ing-wen wants to push for the island's formal independence.

Tsai, who took offer in 2016, says she wants to maintain the status quo, but will protect Taiwan's security and not be bullied by Beijing.

In the latest flight by Chinese aircraft around Taiwan, two H-6 bombers passed through the Bashi Channel, which separates Taiwan from the Philippines, in the early hours of Friday and then rounded Taiwan via Japan's Miyako Strait, to Taiwan's northeast, the island's defense ministry said.

Taiwan aircraft accompanied and monitored the Chinese bombers throughout, the ministry said, describing the Chinese aircraft as being on a long-range training mission.

The people of Taiwan should not be alarmed as the air force was well able to monitor the Chinese aircraft as they approach and during their missions and can ensure Taiwan's security, the ministry added.

There was no immediate word from China. It has said these missions, which have become increasingly frequent, are to send a warning to Taiwan not to engage in separatist activity.

On Thursday, Taiwan lost its second diplomatic ally in less than a month when Burkina Faso said it had cut ties with the island, following intense Chinese pressure on African countries to break with what it regards as a wayward province.

Tsai said Taiwan would not engage in "dollar diplomacy" and denounced Beijing's methods, saying Taiwan and its partners in the international community would not cower to China's pressure.

Rick Wiles, TruNews, plays a clip of Dumitru Duduman today and discusses, starts around 55 minutes. Whole show is also good. Rick said his ministry was very influenced by him.
