There are some problems with this though, from a freedom standpoint.

Catholic orphanages have been closed down because they wouldn't allow homosexual couples to adopt their children.

It's one of those "freedom for me but not for you" things that liberals fail at so often. The homosexuals want freedom to marry? Sure. Awesome. You can all be recognized by the state and any insurance companies or employers who wish to do so.

But you can't force someone else to recognize your marriage. That's where your freedom ends.

Does your logic extend to inter-racial marriages?

uh, actually no. at least 16 of the states listed above had all passed laws that banned it, but federal judges usurped their authority, and legislated from the bench. this is not what the people wanted. it was forced upon them. not quite the same thing

.. on the ground that the Constitution preempted certain state laws. This obviously will be a continuing discussion in the courts and among the population. My sense, however, is that both sets of discussions have turned in the direction of allowing marriage among any two adults.

It has to. Freedom for all or freedom for nobody.

Pennsylvania did not legalize "gay marriage." On person who is called a judge did that.

Does that mean you support residents of Vermont and Arizona (no permit to carry conceal required) being able to do so in Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C., not to mention anywhere else in America? I'm guessing you prefer to cherrypick on reciprocity.

What does interracial marriage have to do with this?

People are naturally born into their race, mixed or not.

Seems you believe the lie that homos occur "naturally."
