Default Republican Controlled House fails to pass law to protect US against Ebola threat!

Make no mistake that Congress, and only Congress, has the power to “regulate commerce “with foreign Nations” [Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3].

From available information I have gathered it is only too clear that an infected person traveling to the United States in an airplane or ship can transmit and infect other passengers by sneezing or coughing or physically coming in contact with them.

SEE:Droplets from coughs and sneezes travel farther than you think

"It is common knowledge that when we cough or sneeze, we should cover our mouth and nose with a tissue to prevent germs from becoming airborne. Now, new research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology suggests this instruction is more important than ever; they found that droplets from coughs or sneezes can travel up to 200 times farther than previously thought."

Also see: Can Ebola spread by coughing? By sneezing?

”Unlike respiratory illnesses like measles or chickenpox, which can be transmitted by virus particles that remain suspended in the air after an infected person coughs or sneezes, Ebola is transmitted by direct contact with body fluids of a person who has symptoms of Ebola disease. Although coughing and sneezing are not common symptoms of Ebola, if a symptomatic patient with Ebola coughs or sneezes on someone, and saliva or mucus come into contact with that person’s eyes, nose or mouth, these fluids may transmit the disease.”

So, the Ebola virus can be transmitted by an infected person coughing or sneezing while in transit to the United States in an airplane or ship. And it also seems quite clear that contaminated particulate matter from a cough or sneeze can travel a considerable distance through the air, much farther than originally thought, and if it lands on a non-infected person’s eyes, mouth, or is breathed in, that person may become infected.

It is also important to note that Some Ebola experts worry virus may spread more easily than assumed

Dr. C.J. Peters, who battled a 1989 outbreak of the virus among research monkeys housed in Virginia and who later led the CDC's most far-reaching study of Ebola's transmissibility in humans, said he would not rule out the possibility that it spreads through the air in tight quarters.

"We just don't have the data to exclude it," said Peters, who continues to research viral diseases at the University of Texas in Galveston.

Now, with all this information available which establishes people traveling to the United States who are carriers of the Ebola virus present a clear and present danger to America's population, why has the Republican controlled House failed to pass legislation which is designed to protect America’s population from foreign commerce? And, this same question applies to the Democrat controlled Senate!

When will the America People realize we have a Muslim terrorist enabler in the Whitehouse? Will the American People come to this conclusion when terrorist activities begin in our southern Border States or cities like New York City?

Already too late to close the borders. The virus and some folks who carry it are already here.

Any vaccine is probably three to six months distant - and that is an optimistic assessment.

Tough legislation is a good idea but won't accomplish much under the circumstances.

Have people realized Politicians don't give a darn about "We The People"? I knew for a while. Maybe the best thing to do is stay home as much as possible and when you do go out go late at night (hence avoid the crowds)

Default Ebola raises its ugly head in New York City

    .

SEE: NYC doctor being tested for Ebola went bowling, used Uber taxis

    October 23, 2014

”A 33-year-old Doctors Without Borders physician who recently treated Ebola patients in Guinea was rushed in an ambulance with police escorts from his Harlem home to Bellevue Hospital on Thursday, sources said.

Craig Spencer, who was was suffering from Ebola-like symptoms — a 103-degree fever and nausea — spent Wednesday night bowling in Williamsburg, the sources said. He used Uber taxis to get there and back.”

Why was this person allowed to enter one of our ports of entry and then roam around New York City when he was treating Ebola patients in Guinea?

Why is the Obama Administration and Congress allowing this crap to happen?

I believe the 33-year-old Doctor intentionally is spreading Ebola.

Y'all should look up the Dostors without Borders (MSF) protocols he was actually rigorously following.

Too bad he ignored his low grade fever/sluggishness before reporting his 103.
Does not appear he was 100% compliant on reporting fever issues until it was way obvious he had a problem going on.

He chose 'wait and see' if it gets worse, then report.

they are walking the number down for damage control to prevent panic since new 'czar' took control of everything that goes out to press. You are seeing that in action. first reports and ones thereafter for a while were a temp "spike to 103".

The first reports said 103°. Dunno who to believe.

As far as the MSF "protocol"- it needs to be changed. It doesn't take into account morons who don't seem to understand that fever may NOT be the first symptom. Any doctor who comes home from an Ebola area, is "self-isolating", and then "feels sluggish and tired" (apparently noticably so) but goes out bowling, rides the subway and a taxi and eats out at a sit down restaurant is clearly NOT thinking straight- or is too dumb to live. Given this guy's resume, I have to think that Cascadians' theory (posted several places on TB2k) of "early onset Ebola Dementia" may, in fact, be an issue.

It's a shame that, as usual, now we have a mandatory law that will cause serious problems for some people just because a few morons couldn't use their common sense. (I also want to know who is going to be paying for the costs of the quarantine- the state, or the quarantined person?)
