Any thoughts on my mistakes in court from members who understand law
I obtained a speeding ticket a month ago. I refused to sign the citation from the cop. I sent the fine in and checked the not guilty block on the back of the return portion, and requested a trial. Trial date came. I entered the courtroom and announced that I was there on by a special appearance and was challenging jurisdiction. The judge ordered me to sit at the table with a sign saying "defendant". I told him that I was not a defendant. He got pissed and said I'm leaving and when I get back you better be seated in the defendant seat. He left. I announced outloud "the judge has abandoned the courtroom" at which point I though I should walk out but froze. He returned about a minute later. Did I lose by not walking out at that point, or would he have slapped me with with not showing up or another form of penalty?
