It's not clear at present which, if any, Palestinian militant organization was behind Tuesday's attack at an Orthodox synagogue in Jerusalem. The incident led to at least four deaths, including those of three Israeli-American citizens.

But the two men who carried it out are now believed to have ties to the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a Marxist-Leninist guerrilla group.

As Israelis mourned, Arabs in Gaza and even Jerusalem handed out candy and posed with axes to celebrate Har Nof massacre.

As Israelis mourned the horrific attack on a synagogue in Jerusalem Tuesday morning, many Palestinian Arabs reacted with delight. In macabre scenes played out in numerous Arab areas - including Gaza, Bethlehem and parts of Jerusalem - Palestinians took to the street to celebrate the cold-blooded murder of unarmed Jewish worshipers as they prayed in Har Nof.

Candies and other treats were handed out to children, and posters bearing the faces of the two terrorists responsible for the attack - cousins Ghassan and Uday Abu Jammal, from the Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukhaber - were waves along with PLO flags.

In one sinister ritual which played out in Gaza, dozens of young Palestinians posed with axes, knives and pistols in a tribute to the killers - who murdered four people and injured eight using knives, a meat-cleaver and a pistol, before being shot dead by police.

UPDATE: Israeli Druze Poilceman Zidan Sayif, the first policeman on the scene at this morning's terror attack, has died of his wounds. May his memory be a blessing.



Original post: Sayif was shot in the head during the gun battle with the terrorists carrying out the Jerusalem synagogue massacre. He was critically wounded and is fighting for his life.
He succeeded in drawing the terrorists away from the intense carnage they had been inflicting on the unarmed Jewish worshippers, using axes, guns and butcher knives.
Sayif's parents and wife remain at his bedside at Hadassah hospital praying for his recovery. Sayif is pictured here with his 7 month old daughter.
We are hoping and praying with all our hearts that he experience a complete recovery and wish to thank him for his heroic service.

DEADLY MASSACRE AT JERUSALEM SYNAGOGUE, 4 Dead, 8 Wounded

BREAKING: Jerusalem is reeling from a grisly attack by two Arab terrorists who entered a synagogue on Agassi Street in Har Nof, Jerusalem. They used guns, axes and knives in an attempt to cause maximum carnage.

Five are dead and six injured, according to the latest reports.

A police officer managed to kill both terrorists, Ghasan and Adi Abu Jamal, who Channel 10 News reports worked at a nearby grocery store and lived in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber.

The synagogue is frequented by residents associated with the Sephardi-Haredi Shas party.

A Hamas spokesman this morning called the attack “heroic,” saying it was an act of revenge for the “execution” of Palestinian Egged bus driver Yusuf Hasan al-Ramouni, 32. According to the autopsy results, al-Ramouni’s hanging, inside his bus, on Monday, was ruled a suicide.

President Obama has responded to today's terrorist attack on a synagogue in Jerusalem in which four Israeli Jews attending morning prayers condemning the attack, and stating that "the majority of Palestinians" want peace.

In a statement delivered to the White House press pool, President Obama responded to the attack by declaring that "too many Palestinians have died," as well as Israelis, in the struggle between the state of Israel and the terrorist group Hamas and its affiliates, including the internationally active Muslim Brotherhood. "At this difficult time," the President told reports, "I think it's important for both Palestinians and Israelis to try to work together to lower tensions and reject violence."
"We have to remind ourselves that the majority of Palestinians and Israelis overwhelmingly want peace," the statement concludes, before the President begins remarks on the Ebola crisis in West Africa. The President did not take questions.
The President's remarks follow Secretary of State John Kerry's response to the terrorist attack, in which he called "on Palestinian leadership at every single level to condemn this in the most powerful terms.” Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas, on his end, nominally condemned the attack while "stressing the need to end the causes of such attacks like tensions over what Jews call the Temple Mount and Palestinians call al-Aqsa Mosque." Such a dismissal of the increasingly out-of-control terrorist activity by Palestinian extremists received the typical benefit of the doubt from mainstream media.
As previously mentioned, four were killed during the attack-- three, the New York Post reports, were American citizens. Photos released by the IDF office show significant bloodshed, indicating that the axes were used in killing those praying in the synagogue. Those congregated there had assembled for morning prayers; the assailants were armed with both guns and axes. Both assailants were Arab Palestinians, and both were killed on sight.
This attack is the latest in a string in Jerusalem in recent months. Two such attacks perpetrated on Israeli Jewish residents of Jerusalem were done so using a car. In one incident, a Palestinian assailant drove his car into a group of Jewish Israelis, killing a three-month-old Chaya Zissel, a US citizen. In the aftermath of that attack, a senior Palestinian Authority aide called the killer a "heroic martyr," and both Hamas and Fatah applauded the attack.
