    “ALLAH AKBAR”

May 14, 2018 9:49 pm By Robert Spencer 86 Comments

“Allahu akbar” means Allah is greater, i.e., greater than your god. It’s a declaration of superiority. Jihad mass murderers the world over scream “Allahu akbar” as they murder people.” 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta reminded himself to “shout, ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers.”
And here it is in the Rancho Cucamonga High School yearbook, because they are tolerant, multicultural, diverse, and against “racism.” The Rancho Cucamonga High School yearbook contains no pages on Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. Why does it contain these pages on Islam? Because it is the prevailing view among Leftists today that Muslims are persecuted, harassed and discriminated against on a large scale in America today, and that this happens because of Americans’ ignorance of Islam.
Both claims are nonsense. The FBI’s latest hate crime statistics show that Jews are twice more likely to be the victims of hate crimes than Muslims. Yet there is no presentation on Judaism in Rancho Cucamonga High School’s yearbook. And if anyone does have a negative opinion of Islam, it is because of jihad terror, not ignorance of Islam.
These pages on Islam are in the Rancho Cucamonga High School yearbook as a testament to how successful Islamic advocacy groups and their Leftist allies have been in deflecting attention away from the reality of jihad terror and portraying Muslims in the U.S., however spuriously, as a victim group needing special consideration and accommodation.

Moral Collapse Caused The California STD Crisis, Not Public Health Funding

    Via Daily Wire:
Welcome to the Hotel California, such a lovely place that now has a record high of sexually transmitted diseases. You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.
According to USA Today, “The number of cases of sexually transmitted diseases in California reached a record high last year and officials are particularly concerned by a spike in stillbirths due to congenital syphilis, state health authorities said Monday.”
In 2017, the California Department of Public Health saw a 45% increase from just five years ago in cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis: 300,000 reported cases. For people under the age of 30, chlamydia and gonorrhea were the most common STDs reported. Young women reported the highest rates of chlamydia; young men reported the majority of syphilis and gonorrhea cases.

California Adds 8th State To Travel Ban List Over Gay Adoption: Oklahoma

Afraid of meeting an Okie from Muskogee.
    Via SF Gate:
California-funded travel to Oklahoma has been banned, starting June 22, because of a new Oklahoma law that allows adoption agencies to deny placement services to same-sex parents, state officials announced Friday.
“California taxpayers are taking a stand against bigotry,” Attorney General Xavier Becerra said in announcing the travel ban. “California will not use state resources to support states that pass discriminatory laws.”
A California law passed last year prohibits state-sponsored travel to states with laws that allow discrimination based on sexual or gender orientation. Seven other states are already on the ban list: Alabama, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Dakota and Texas.
“Our taxpayer dollars do not fund bigotry,” Becerra said. “No exceptions.”

‘Am I In The Bad Part Of Town?’ Tourists Shocked By What They See On San Francisco Streets

    Welcome to a liberal utopia.
    Via SF Gate:
It’s something many San Franciscans see on a daily basis, outside their homes or offices and during their commutes. For better or for worse, locals are used to walking by crime scenes, have seen open injection drug use, and have witnessed mental health episodes firsthand.
But when a tourist lands at SFO, guidebook in hand, that reality can be shocking.
“Is this normal or am I in a ‘bad part of town?’ Just walked past numerous homeless off their faces, screaming and running all over the sidewalk near Twitter HQ and then a murder scene. Wife is scared to leave hotel now,” wrote an Australian Reddit user Wednesday.
That person isn’t alone. On Sunday, another tourist from Canada asked the San Francisco Reddit community, “Why is this city so terrifying?”
“I’d been there for probably less than a day, just wandering around the center, and already seen more than enough poverty and suffering to cause me wanting to leave desperately,” wrote another visitor from London in 2017. “I saw many people talking to themselves, or to things that weren’t there. Even in a Macy’s, and there weren’t any police officers to help them or do anything about it.”
Anyone who has hosted friends or family from out of town may have had to field similar questions.
Just those three Reddit posts garnered more than 650 comments, many of which were helpful suggestions (other neighborhoods to explore, safety tips, and more).
But the city’s own visitors’ bureau is struggling to come up with a good explanation for horrified tourists.

LA Mayor’s Obsession With Going Green Turned Into A Nightmare For Taxpayers

    It’s the California way.
    Via Daily Caller:
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s long-time mission to electrify the city’s buses is turning into a massive waste of time that could further disrupt the West Coast Democrat’s hopes of running for president in 2020.
The city began buying a lot of buses in 2008 from a Chinese battery manufacturer called BYD Ltd., which promised to create thousands of new green energy jobs and provide L.A. buses with long-range use that could clean up the environment. The promise became an expensive flop, according to a report published Wednesday in the Los Angeles Times.
BYD’s buses stalled on hills, required frequent service calls and had unpredictable driving ranges below advertised distances, which were impaired by temperature changes and the driver’s braking. In fact, the first five buses BYD sent to LA Metro, which manages the city’s public transportation, were pulled off the road after less than five months of service.
Metro staff called them “unsuitable,” poorly made and unreliable for over 100 miles, internal city emails show. The transit agency awarded BYD tens of millions of dollars more in public contracts despite concerns the buses were becoming a headache and perhaps not worth the expense.
But Garcetti, a Democrat and proponent of electric vehicles who chairs Metro’s board, often tossed lifelines to BYD as the company lobbied its way into the city’s pocketbook.
The mayor invited BYD in 2016 to test new product lines within city agencies and arranged for officials to visit the company’s factory. Records show two city departments gave BYD contracts without competitive bidding. When the projects hit snags, city managers told staff the purchases were “political,” the LA Times reported.
Garcetti led an effort to force Metro to convert its 2,200-bus fleet to electric despite the poor results with BYD. He and his staff wrote policy motions and created a private meeting between Metro executives and environmental lobbyists, the LA Times reported.
BYD rolled out its first five buses for an Earth Day ceremony in 2015 outside LA’s Metro headquarters. They were quietly sent back to the factory shortly thereafter, according to the LA Times.
Internal Metro reports show the buses needed “extensive campaign of retrofits, modifications and upgrades to correct irregularities.” Problems only metastasized, internal metro logs show. (RELATED: Anti-Trump LA Mayor Asks Hollywood Pals For Help Out With Potential White House Bid)
One bus puffed plumes of white smoke from its wheels, while another wouldn’t start its second run of the day and on its next run needed a jump-start. Another bus limped back to the depot and failed to complete a scheduled route when its battery dropped to 15-percent charge after only 68 miles.
Metro records show the buses never traveled further than 133 miles, although BYD promised the units had a range of 175 miles. Reports also show drivers got an average of 59 miles between charges when service stops were factored in. Other cities had problems with the buses, too.
Officials in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for instance, were so alarmed with production problems and severe range shortfalls that they raised concerns about its $23-million contract. “The whole thing is a bit of a lemon, and now we’ve got to learn to make lemonade,” said Mayor Tim Keller.

U.S.Calif. Dad Fatally Shot in Tent in Front of Daughters, 2 and 4, on Camping Trip

Calif. Dad Fatally Shot in Front of Daughters While Camping Leaving his wife at home so she could study for an exam, Tristan Beaudette packed up his two young daughters to go camping overnight in California’s popular Malibu Creek State Park outside Los Angeles.
There, at about 4:45 a.m. last Friday, someone fatally shot the 35-year-old scientist, who was found dead in his tent along with his two unharmed daughters, 2 and 4. Investigators believe the killing took place in front of the girls.
“The theory we are working with is he was shot inside the tent,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Rodney Moore said, according to the Los Angeles Times. “The children were inside the tent too.”
No assailant or motive has been identified.
“We are working this as a homicide at this point,” Moore said. “We are gathering evidence. … It will take some time.”
A GoFundMe post confirming Beaudette’s death says family members “are heartbroken.”

Father Shot and Killed While Camping With His 2- and 4-Year-Old Girls

A father who was shot and killed while camping with his two young daughters has been identified.

“Tristan was out doing something he adored in life, being in the outdoors with his two young girls,” reads the post. “His wife Erica was preparing to take an exam the next morning. This was their final step before taking well-deserved time off together as a family prior to their relocation to new jobs in the Bay Area.”
“They were about to embark on a new chapter in their lives. And then it was all taken away, by a fatal gun shot in the middle of the night, in front of his two young daughters.”
“Not a second goes by that we aren’t grappling with the senselessness of this crime.”
Authorities say Beaudette was dead at the scene after deputies responded to a call about shots fired about 4:45 a.m. The victim was hit at least once in the upper torso, reports news staton KTLA.
There are about 63 campsites in the location of the shooting in the Calabasas park, and they likely all were occupied at the time, Park Superintendent Tony Hoffman told the outlet. The popular destination just 25 miles from downtown Los Angeles covers more than 8,000 acres and has provided a backdrop for the filming of TV series such as “M*A*S*H” and the original Planet of the Apes movie.
A separate statement released Sunday by the Beaudette family said Tristan was “happiest out in nature,” had married his high school sweetheart, and identified him as a “scientist who loved cooking and microbrews,” reports the Times. His LinkedIn page said he held a PhD in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley and worked for a pharmaceutical company.
“His selfless devotion to his children came naturally, and Tristan found true joy in all aspects of being a father,” the family said. “The grief and trauma this loss has caused our close-knit family is indescribable

California Has Mismanaged Its Veterans Home Properties, Audit Finds

Veterans thrown under the Moonbeam bullet train.
    Via Stars and Stripes:
California has “mismanaged” properties where its state-run veterans homes are located, failing to charge market rents to private users and shortchanging programs that should benefit from the leases, a state audit concluded Tuesday.
The head of the California Department of Veterans Affairs agreed with the findings and said changes would be made, while a leading state lawmaker said Tuesday she was pursuing legislation to make sure the properties were handled properly.
The department oversees eight residential facilities in the state that provide rehabilitative and medical care to California military veterans, and the surrounding acres are managed by the state Department of General Services.
Property at the veterans homes has been leased for private uses including a theater, museum and a golf course, according to state Auditor Elaine Howle. The two agencies “entered into agreements with third parties that are inconsistent with the homes’ best interests and that violate state law by allowing the third parties to lease property for decades,” Howle wrote in a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom and the Legislature.
State law requires the funds from leases to go back to the veterans facilities, but the two agencies “failed to ensure that $610,000 was appropriately directed to the homes” over three years, Howle told state elected officials.[…]
The audit also found state officials allowed cycling events and fun runs on the properties without written agreements to protect the state from liability. In another case, a leasee allowed hot-air balloons to launch daily from a state property in violation of lease terms.
In a letter to Howle released Tuesday, CalVet Secretary Vito Imbasciani said he had already started taking action to fix problems.
He said his agency was revisiting existing leases, had taken steps to update rents charged to employees and was reviewing arrangements in which private groups were using property without a lease.
