The Obama administration gave Somali Muslims behind-the-scenes tours at a major U.S. airport after the group complained to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson about feeling harassed and profiled, government records obtained by Judicial Watch reveal. The special security tours not offered to any other group occurred at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport after Department of Homeland Security (DHS) roundtable meetings with local Somali leaders to obtain feedback for “modifications to practices that would allow for operations to be more culturally sensitive.”

On at least two occasions—December 18, 2014 and February 18, 2015—federal authorities granted the unprecedented excursions of the facility’s sterile and secure areas, according to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) records obtained by Judicial Watch. The DHS agency that conducted the expeditions, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), provided the Muslim participants with “an in-depth, on-site tour and discussion of CBP’s airport, including both inbound and outbound passenger processing,” the TSA files state. Besides multiple roundtable meetings between CBP and Somali community leaders including imams, the records show that a luncheon and “cultural exchange and educational brief” also took place between December 2014 and February 2015 so that attendees could ask about the agency’s “specific practices” at the airport.
The roundtable events and airport tours were organized by Abdirizak Farah, who is identified in the records as a policy advisor in the DHS Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL). Farah joined DHS in 2010 with an annual salary of $89,033 and by 2015 his yearly pay increased to $130,453, according to a government database. The TSA’s “Somali liaison officer” in Minneapolis, Andrew Rhoades, told Judicial Watch that the special airport tours were organized for Somali Muslims after they complained to Johnson that they felt “harassed and profiled” by CBP at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport. The DHS secretary had “a sympathetic ear to that,” Rhoades said, adding that no other group has been granted such airport access by DHS. “Now, I will say we’ve never done that, or we don’t do that, to let’s say the Hmong community living here in Minneapolis, uh, the Christian community, the Catholic community, the Irish… whatever you want to call it. This has been the only one,” Rhoades said.
The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is the nation’s 17th busiest in terms of passenger traffic, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It gets more than 35 million passengers annually and nearly 200,000 metric tons of freight. The region has a large Somali Muslim community and Somalia is a terrorist nation that’s largely controlled by the extremist group Al Shabaab. In June three Somali-American pals from Minneapolis were convicted by a federal jury of conspiring to commit murder in Syria on behalf of the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and to provide material support to the designated foreign terrorist organization. Six of their buddies pleaded guilty and one was charged in absentia, presumed dead in Syria. Back in 2013 a mainstream news outlet reported that the Al Qaeda affiliate that terrorized a Kenyan shopping center and murdered scores of innocent people included Somalis from Minnesota. Among them was 22-year-old Ahmed Mohamed Isse of St. Paul and 24-year-old Abdifatah Osman Keenadiid of Minneapolis.
The FBI and Congress have launched probes into the radicalization of the Somali American community in Minnesota. Al Shabaab recruits young men in local mosques and ships them off to train and fight in Somalia. Last fall the area’s largest newspaper published a story confirming that Minnesota leads the nation in the number of people who have left or sought to leave the country to fight with terrorists aligned with ISIL or ISIS. An attorney who attended the June trial of the convicted Somali-Minnesotans explains in a newspaper column that the broader terrorist ring consists of young first-or-second-generation Somali-Americans who freely took advantage of educational and employment opportunities in the Twin Cities. Their social lives centered on local mosques, they supplemented their education with Islamic studies, are observant Muslims and want to live under the caliphate declared by ISIL. “They yearned to wage jihad and to die as Islamic martyrs,” the column states, adding that “they hate the U.S.” Many of them traveled through Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport while pursuing terrorist causes.

D.C. Metro Transit Cop Charged with Trying to Aid ISIS

WASHINGTON -- A 13-year veteran of the police force charged with security of the Beltway's Metro system has been arrested on charges that he tried to assist ISIS.
The complaint details a years-long investigation into the cop as he remained employed with the transit police.
Nicholas Young, 36, of Fairfax, Va., was taken into custody this morning at police headquarters and is scheduled to appear before a magistrate in the the Eastern District of Virginia this afternoon.
According to the FBI, law enforcement first interviewed Young in September 2010 as an acquaintance of his, Zachary Chesser, had been arrested.
Chesser, known for threatening the creators of the South Park series after they depicted a cartoon Muhammad, admitted that year to trying to aid Al-Shabaab. For a short time, the Charlottesville native worked as a caretaker at the Islamic Center of Northern Virginia in Fairfax. He's now incarcerated at the Supermax prison in Colorado.

"Over the next several years, Young allegedly had numerous interactions with undercover law enforcement personnel and an FBI confidential human source (CHS) regarding his knowledge of and interest in terrorism-related activity. Many of these interactions were recorded," stated an FBI press release. "Law enforcement also interviewed Young’s family and co-workers. In 2011, Young met with an undercover law enforcement officer, and several of these meetings included another of Young’s acquaintances, Amine El Khalifi, who later pleaded guilty to charges relating to his plan to conduct a suicide bombing at the U.S. Capitol Building in 2012."
The criminal complaint states that in March 2011 Young told an undercover officer that he "used to torture animals as a child" and "despised the FBI," musing that someone with his skills "could attack an FBI establishment."
"Young said that firearms are not allowed to be brought into the federal courthouse in Alexandria, but described a method that Young could bring multiple guns into the courthouse undetected in order to distribute them to others inside."
The affidavit filed with the criminal complaint alleges that Young traveled to Libya in 2011 with "military-style items" and in 2014 met with the FBI informant, who was posing "as a U.S. military reservist of Middle Eastern descent who wanted to travel overseas to join ISIL," about 20 times.



Young allegedly gave the informant tips on how to travel without raising suspicion from law enforcement and how to be discreet about his plans. The source pretended that he left the country to join ISIS, and further email communications between Young and the source were actually between Young and undercover FBI officials.
The Metro transit cop allegedly sent an email in June 2015 asking how to sent money to ISIS "Unfortunately I have enough flags on my name that I can’t even buy a plane ticket without little alerts ending up in someone’s hands, so I imagine banking transactions are automatically monitored and will flag depending on what is going on," Young wrote.
The FBI interviewed Young in December, pretending like they were trying to figure out the whereabouts of the informant.
On July 28, Young sent $245 worth of mobile-messaging gift card codes to the FBI posing as the informant, allegedly writing: “Respond to verify receipt . . . may not answer depending on when as this device will be destroyed after all are sent to prevent the data being possibly seen on this end in the case of something unfortunate.”

His Fairfax neighborhood was blocked off with crime-scene tape today as police searched his townhome.
Paul J. Wiedefeld, the general manager and CEO of D.C.'s Metro system, said in a statement that "since I received my first briefing on this matter, [Metro Transit Police] Chief [Ronald] Pavlik and I have worked hand-in-glove with the FBI in the interest of public safety and to ensure that this individual would be brought to justice."
"Metro Transit Police alerted the FBI about this individual and then worked with our federal partners throughout the investigation up to and including today’s arrest," Wiedefeld said. "Obviously, the allegations in this case are profoundly disturbing. They’re disturbing to me, and they’re disturbing to everyone who wears the uniform."
Pavlik added that the investigation began "with concerns that were reported by the Metro Transit Police Department, and it reinforces that, as citizens, we all have a duty to report suspicious activity whenever and wherever it occurs."
Wiedefeld also told Metro colleagues that Young has been fired "effective immediately."

A Detroit man who allegedly bought high-grade explosives from an undercover agent after amassing an arsenal of weapons and talking about carrying out an attack was charged Monday following an FBI counterterrorism investigation.
It is unclear from court filings whether Sebastian Gregerson, aka Abdurrahman Bin Mikaayl, was planning an attack and why he allegedly was purchasing explosives from an undercover FBI agent.
Court records chronicle a 16-month undercover investigation that started after a tipster told the FBI that Gregerson, 29, had grenades and bazookas.
The complaint emerged Monday amid heightened concern about terror-related attacks and fatal shootings of law enforcement officers, including five officers killed during an attack last month in Dallas.
“I am unable to comment beyond what’s contained in the complaint,” said Gina Balaya, spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Detroit.
Gregerson, who has a long brown beard and nearly waist-length hair, quietly read a copy of the criminal complaint Monday while wearing handcuffs and ankle chains during a brief arraignment in federal court. He faces up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted of unregistered possession of a destructive device and unlicensed receipt of explosive materials.
Gregerson, who is being held without bond temporarily, is due back in federal court Thursday when a judge could keep him locked up while awaiting trial.
Two Gregerson supporters, including a woman wearing a hijab, declined comment outside federal court. Gregerson’s court-appointed lawyer could not be reached for comment.
A Facebook account belonging to a user with the same name, and a hometown of Dearborn, includes an image of a man riding a horse and carrying an Islamic State flag.
Seamus Hughes, deputy director of George Washington University’s Program on Extremism, said Islamic State supporters have used the same photo in the past.
“That suggests to me that he is a supporter (of the Islamic State),” Hughes said.
The Facebook account also includes a meme that mentions shooting sprees.
“Abdurrahman Gregerson” works in logistics and supply chain at Target and previously worked at Wal-Mart, according to a LinkedIn profile. The profile says he is studying criminal justice and law enforcement administration at Henry Ford Community College and lists firearms instruction, survival training and security as skills.

On Monday, in a federal courtroom in downtown Detroit, Gregerson stood before a magistrate judge accused of two crimes. Neither was for terrorism. Rather, the FBI concluded that it had seen enough and heard enough — an undercover agent recorded conversations with Gregerson — to charge him with possessing a destructive device and receiving explosive materials without a proper license. He was arrested Sunday night, the FBI said, when he tried to buy grenades from undercover agents.
The case started 16 months ago with a tipster alerting the FBI about Gregerson having bazookas and grenades, and ended with Gregerson buying grenades from an undercover FBI agent at a Monroe gas station on Sunday.

The documents state that agents had been shadowing Mr. Young for almost six years, that he went to Libya twice in 2011 to aid a rebel group fighting Muammar el-Qaddafi, and that he had associated with two people convicted in 2012 on terrorism charges:
Amine El Khalifi, who pleaded guilty to plotting a suicide bombing at the United States Capitol; and Zachary A. Chesser, who admitted to trying to join the Shabab, a Somalia-based Islamist terror group, and to threatening violence against the creators of the television show “South Park.”

North Carolina Man Charged With Trying to Create ISIS Terror Cell in U.S.

A North Carolina man was arrested Thursday on charges that he attempted to recruit terrorists to launch attacks in the United States on behalf of the Islamic State, according to the Justice Department.
Erick Jamal Hendricks, 35, planned to create a terror cell where attackers would be housed and trained to target Americans on “kill lists,” including military personnel, issued by ISIS, court records said. Hendricks claimed he had 10 members signed up with his jihadist group.
The Charlotte resident was charged with conspiring to provide material support to the terrorist group after a year-long FBI investigation.
The FBI affidavit said Hendricks tried to recruit an individual in the spring of 2015 who had pledged allegiance to ISIS and attempted to purchase an AK-47 rifle and ammunition from an undercover officer to join his cell.
Hendricks allegedly told the individual that there were several “brothers” in Texas and Mexico and asked about his willingness to commit “jihad” and to die as a “martyr.”
The FBI also charged that Hendricks contacted Elton Simpson, one of the two men who died in a gun fight with police during the “Draw Prophet Mohammad” contest held in Garland, Texas, this past May.
The woman who organized the event was among the Americans who Hendricks intended to target, according to the affidavit.
Hendricks could face a maximum of 15 years in prison if found guilty.

Kansas: Iraqi grad school student falsified visa application, faked letters from Army generals

In the batch of felony charges filed against a former University of Kansas graduate student in the journalism school, one especially stands out: He’s accused of lying.
Goran Sabah Ghafour – visa fraud

Goran Sabah Ghafour, 34, faces two felony counts of aggravated identity theft and one felony count of visa fraud, according to a news release from Tom Beall, acting U.S. attorney in the District of Kansas.
As a part of an immigrant visa application for former Iraqi nationals, Ghafour falsely claimed that he worked as a translator for the U.S. Army in Iraq, the release said. Alongside those claims he submitted two letters — later determined to be fake — from a pair of Army brigadier generals.
The two generals neither wrote nor signed the letters, the release said.
Ghafour’s falsified application was submitted while he was working as a teaching assistant in KU’s journalism school, the release said.
Erinn Barcomb-Peterson, a spokeswoman for KU, said Ghafour graduated this May and is no longer a student at the university.
If found guilty of the three charges, Ghafour could face up to 12 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, the release said.
Ghafour is next scheduled to appear in court for a status conference regarding the charges on Aug. 16.

We wonder if lying about being a U.S. Army interpreter and faking letters and signatures from Army generals is really kind of…professional.
Like the Muslim who started a tv station in Buffalo, New York to dispel notions of Muslims being violent only to behead his wife in the very studio, it seems Ghafour has failed on both accounts listed above: breaking stereotypes and being professional.

He’ll fit in well at CNN, AP, Slate, Mother Jones, Reuters, BBC and a slew of other untrustworthy propaganda outlets who will undoubtedly give him a well-paying job.

In a time of heightened terrorism and political tension people are looking for stories of compassion and acts of kindness that will bring joy to their day. It initially appeared they found one when a Jewish man at a Barnes & Noble went up to a Muslim woman and her kids “and conveyed a heartfelt apology for the general anti-Muslim sentiment in our society today. He had tears in his eyes and told me [Muslim woman] that it must be so hard to turn on the news, that he feels awful about the bigotry my kids might one day experience, and that as a Jewish man whose parents didn’t speak any English growing up, he personally understands what it feels like to be rejected and discriminated against,” stated the woman on Facebook.
The Jerusalem Post also reports that the Jewish man, named Lenny, purchased gifts for the woman’s girls at the store. However, the smiling mother has a darker side.
The Muslim woman, Leena Al-Arian, is the daughter of Sami Al-Arian – a man who has been involved with the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and a man U.S. District Court Judge James Moody labeled as a “master manipulator[.]” Leena is also a radical Palestinian activist with Muslim Brotherhood connections as Arutz Sheva implies:

While studying at the University of South Florida, Leena served as Vice President of the radical Muslim Students Association. She also maintained a blog during this period, ranting against the State of Israel, Zionism, and Holocaust education.
“I am just so tired of reading blatantly biased writings on the Holocaust… [T]he thought of sitting through that nauseating three-hour class makes me want to put a bullet through my head. I am sick of the likes of propagandists such as Elie Wiesel, Rubenstein, and others who continue to exploit the tragedy of the Holocaust to justify the continued, unjustifiable suffering of the Palestinians,” Leena wrote in 2004.

She’s not quite the sweet mother portrayed in the news, right?
The whole Barnes & Noble incident is indicative of how the media and academia pumps the ‘Islamophobia’ narrative so much that it guilt trips people like Lenny into apologizing for something that is largely fictionalized. Worse yet, in this instance Lenny apologized to an Israel bashing, Islamist with terrorist sympathies (unbeknown to him). It’s Islamists who are the ones deceptively pushing this ‘Islamophobia’ narrative to the media as a tactic that not only switches the blame from the perpetrator (radical Islam) to the victim (general public), but also gives Islam a special protected status in order to stifle criticism of Islamism. Hopefully the incident had a positive impact in making Leena feel ashamed of her past anti-Semitic attitudes and comments, but it likely just confirmed that her activism is working.

Why did non-coalition Pakistani officials attend the burial of Khizr Khan’s son?

Pakistan was not a member of the U.S. coalition in Iraq, which begs the question of why the Pakistani embassy’s ISI chief attended Captain Humayun Khan’s funeral at Arlington?

The official notification of Khan’s death stated:

“Captain Humayun S. M. Khan, 27, of Bristow, Virginia, died June 8, 2004, in Baquabah, Iraq, after a vehicle packed with an improvised explosive device drove into the gate of his compound while he was inspecting soldiers on guard duty. Khan was assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 201st Forward Support Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany.”

Khan was actually an Army intelligence officer, fluent in Arabic, who worked with Iraqi civilians in a program called the United States-Iraq Sponsorship Program, which was actually an operation designed to recruit Iraqis to work as police and in other “capacities” for the Coalition Provisional Authority, the U.S. occupation government of Iraq. Khan’s home base of Vilseck is a center for U.S. intelligence operations involving units of the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command. When Khan was killed, oversight of Iraq “transition” programs, such as the U.S.-Iraq Sponsorship Program, had just come under the control of General David Petraeus, the first commander of the Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq.

Members of the Pakistani embassy, including deputy chief of mission (DCM) Mohammad Sadiq, attended Captain Khan’s burial at Arlington National Cemetery. The DCM of large embassies are almost always the embassy intelligence chief of station. In the case of Sadig, this would be the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). In 2008, Sadiq, who paid his respects to Captain Khan at Arlington, was defending ISI as the Pakistan Foreign Ministry’s chief spokesman. India accused the ISI of bombing its embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. The bombing killed four people, including two Indian diplomats.
It was not only India that blamed the ISI for the bombing in Kabul. CIA officials said that intercepts of communications showed ISI involvement. Pakistan was so incensed by the statements from U.S. intelligence that it summoned CIA official Stephen Kappes to Islamabad for a chewing out session.

Pakistan was not a member of the U.S. coalition in Iraq, which begs the question of why the Pakistani embassy’s ISI chief attended Captain Humayun Khan’s funeral at Arlington? Was Khan working, through his Saudi- and Pakistani-connected father with the ISI? If so, was the contact “sanctioned” by the CIA? If not, was Humayun Khan freelancing and feeding information from Iraq to the ISI, which then passed it to their close allies in the Saudi General Intelligence Department?
Khizr Khan claims he is a “legal consultant” in Charlottesville, although he is not a member of the Virginia Bar. Given the nature of Charlotteville’s status as a sanctuary city, Khan’s legal background and his work with the Muslim community in Virginia, it is likely that Khan offers help to Muslims who have overstayed their student visas in the university and sanctuary city to obtain permanent residence. It should be recalled that seven of the 9/11 hijackers obtained Virginia driver’s licenses, three of which were used as official identification to check in for flights on September 11, 2001.

Khizr Khan practices law in New York and is a member of the New York Bar. Khan’s Manhattan law office is next door to the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, which also happens to house the residence of the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power. Power’s husband is Cass Sunstein, President Obama’s former information czar who excels in the art of disinformation, propaganda, and cognitive dissonance. But more interesting is the fact that Khan and his wife are residents of Charlottesville, Virginia, a home to a number of foreign Muslims, many of whom are students at the University of Virginia who wish to change their student visa status to permanent residency, or “green card” status. Charlottesville is a so-called “sanctuary city” that welcomes those who either enter the United States illegally or overstay their limited residency visas.

Now he’s run back to Pakistan where he continued interfering in a U.S. election from abroad.

The Daily Beast recently reported that “days before an ISIS sympathizer attacked a cartoon contest in Garland, Texas, he received a text from an undercover FBI agent. ‘Tear up Texas,’ the agent messaged Elton Simpson days before he opened fire at the Draw Muhammad event, according to an affidavit (pdf) filed in federal court Thursday.”

The Beast’s Katie Zavadski also revealed that the undercover agent was at our free speech event in Garland, where Simpson and Nadir Soofi attempted a jihad massacre.
Zavadski and others in the left-wing media have pounced on the incitement, entrapment angle — which is absurd. These jihadis were plotting jihad at the Super Bowl and planning to travel to Syria to join ISIS, and we’re supposed to believe they were entrapped? What could anyone say to you or me that would make you a mass murderer? Nothing.
While I do believe that undercover FBI agents have to play along with the jihadis they’re dealing with, because in order to be in an informant you have to have credibility, it’s a whole other thing if you’re encouraging and cheering on the proposed murder of Americans who are standing in defense of the freedom of speech, and then not doing anything about it. Why did the FBI only have one agent there? And not a team waiting for them to shoot back?

In the wake of Garland, the media attacks on us were the overwhelming and overarching story. But outside of that, one of the stories that bubbled to the surface was that the FBI knew about the attack before it happened, but did not alert law enforcement or my security apparatus. When I first heard that the FBI had prior notice of the attack, I thought that it was very short-term notice. It was assumed by many people that the FBI had had some sketchy prior knowledge of the attack, but nothing particularly specific.
Now we find they were in on the planning of the jihad attack, and did nothing about it. If you recall, the FBI only got around to alerting Garland police about Simpson’s jihad plans three hours before our event. It was Garland police, not the FBI, that coordinated all the super security efforts with our own security team.
The FBI knew about the impending attack, one of their agents told Simpson to “tear up Texas,” and an accomplice of Simpson was even communicating with the undercover agent at the time of the attack.
The Beast reported that this accomplice “asked the undercover officer about the Draw Muhammad event’s security, size, and police presence, during the event, according to an affidavit filed in court. The affidavit does not specify what the undercover responded to questions about size and security.” Why not? Why weren’t the agent’s answers released?
They knew about the attack, yet they didn’t have a team there in case the jihadis started shooting?
It’s hard to escape the conclusion that the Obama FBI wanted me and the other speakers at the event dead. Dutch freedom fighter Geert Wilders was the keynote speaker; he has been living with armed guards for years for supposedly “insulting Islam.” My colleague Robert Spencer has received numerous death threats from Muslims. Cartoon contest winner Bosch Fawstin drew Muhammad. Did Obama’s pro-Islam FBI want us all dead?
What other conclusion can be reached?
I’ve been trying to get my mind around this thing. What was Obama trying to do? Teach Americans a lesson? Enforce the edict that he enunciated in the wake of the Benghazi jihad slaughter, that “the future must not belong to those to slander the prophet of Islam”?
If people had died at our Garland event, the murders would have had a blood-chilling effect on the freedom of speech in America. That, in my view, appears to have been what the Obama administration wanted — and certainly that’s what the enemedia wanted in the wake of our event, as it gleefully and relentlessly blamed us for violating Sharia blasphemy laws and getting shot at.
If you look at the Obama administration’s track record in regard to jihad in America, it’s abysmal and ghastly. Look at San Bernardino, Fort Hood, Chattanooga, Orlando… Garland is one of the few stories where Americans came out on top.
And now it comes out that in Garland, we have to ask whether the United States government aided and abetted the would-be murderers. It’s astonishing.
Did the Obama FBI want us dead? We need answers: we need an explanation of the FBI’s behavior that accounts for everything we know and demonstrates that this is not the case – if there is one.
This is shocking, and it should frighten every American, all across the political spectrum.
