Texas Muslim gets 82 months for attempt to join the Islamic State

June 6, 2015 4:19 am By Robert Spencer 8 Comments
Yet another convert to Islam somehow gets the idea that Islam required him to wage war against unbelievers — an idea that the media and political elites would have us believe originates solely with greasy Islamophobes. How greasy Islamophobes came to be in charge of the instruction of converts to Islam, no one has bothered to explain.
“Michael Todd Wolfe man gets 82 months for attempt to aid terrorists,” Statesman, June 5, 2015:
Almost a year after his arrest at a Houston airport, a 24-year-old man was sentenced Friday in Austin to nearly seven years in prison on charges that he attempted to aid overseas terrorists.
Michael Todd Wolfe, a Houston native who authorities say lived in the Austin area, pleaded guilty last year to planning to travel to the Middle East to join the al-Qaida offshoot Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS. He will be placed on five years of supervisory release following his incarceration.
In a plea last year, he admitted that he obtained a passport, went through physical training and practiced military maneuvers to prepare to engage in violent jihad, investigators said.
Federal court records show Wolfe had been communicating with an undercover investigator who told Wolfe he had helped people wanting to travel for jihad in Somalia and Syria. From August 2013 until this month, Wolfe had worked on preparing for the trip.
He obtained birth certificates for himself, his wife and two children. He asked an undercover agent for a pair of durable glasses with a head strap that would hold up on the battlefield, and he was running, doing Cross-Fit exercises and practicing martial arts, investigators said.
In early August, his wife told an undercover agent that her husband had said his heart yearned to join his Muslim brothers, that he was ready to die for his religion, that “he was ready to die for someone; for something,” according to a criminal complaint.
His plan was for him and his family to travel under the false pretext of going to a concert in Europe, and he bought airline tickets so that he could meet an FBI employee, whom he thought would facilitate his trip to Syria through Turkey, the complaint states….
Rahatul Ashikim Khan, 23, of Round Rock is accused of recruiting jihadi fighters through an online chat room. A separate indictment out of a Miami federal court obtained by the American-Statesman seems to share ties to the complaint against Khan and alleges possible co-conspirators had been funding three groups, designated by the United States as terrorist organizations, that have operated in Iraq, Syria and Somalia.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
“As a general rule, the earlier you recognize someone is trying to kill you, the better off you’ll be.”

Which came out that ISIS/ISIL was also created.

Can't take all our freedom and create perpetual war without a few false flags here and there.

Life was easier for Jay Carney, before he joined Amazon, when he worked for Obama.
    Via BBC
Four different volumes were available for sale on the site, but in a statement to the BBC, Amazon said the product had now been removed.
The author of the publications was listed as al-Hayat Media Centre, which is IS’s Western-focused media arm.
Islamic State is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK.
The magazines were being sold in paperback form on Amazon sites in the UK, US, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. It can be downloaded for free elsewhere.
Amazon’s statement to the BBC read: “This product is no longer available for sale.” The company did not give any further details.
Dabiq is described on Amazon as “a periodical magazine focusing on issues of tawhid (unity), manhaj (truth-seeking), hijrah (migration), jihad (holy war), and jama’ah (community)”.
The publication, named after the small Syrian town of Dabiq for symbolic reasons, was launched in 2014.
Amazon’s websites list the publisher of the magazines as “CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform”, which is an Amazon-owned self-publishing company.

Muslim to plead guilty to plotting jihad suicide bombing at Kansas airport

June 6, 2015 5:06 pm By Robert Spencer 10 Comments
Loewen is, of course, yet another convert to Islam who somehow got the notion that Islam required him to seek to spill Infidel blood. Authorities remain, as always, remarkably uncurious about where he might have picked up these ideas.
“Man accused of plotting suicide bomb attack at Kansas airport plans to change his plea,” Associated Press, June 5, 2015:
WICHITA, Kan. – A man accused of plotting a suicide bomb attack at a Wichita airport told a federal court Friday that he intends to change his not-guilty plea.
A docket notation shows the change-of-plea hearing for Terry L. Loewen is set for Monday afternoon before U.S. District Judge Monti Belot in Wichita.
Loewen, a former avionics technician, was arrested in December 2013 after authorities said he tried to bring a van filled with inert explosives onto the tarmac at Wichita’s Mid-Continent Airport, now called the Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport. He is charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempting to use an explosive device to damage property and attempting to give material support to al-Qaida.
Defense attorney John Henderson did not immediately respond to an email seeking about the development. The U.S. attorney’s office declined comment.
Prosecutors have alleged in court filings in the case that Loewen planned a suicide bomb attack aimed at inflicting “maximum carnage” that would have killed and injured hundreds of people during the busy holiday travel season. The final plan — hatched in an undercover scheme with two FBI agents posing as co-conspirators — was to detonate the device between terminals and Loewen would die as a martyr, prosecutors said.
Early on, Loewen’s defense team raised the issue of possible government entrapment, but their myriad of court filings to get charges dismissed or evidence thrown out have failed. Prosecutors have argued that Loewen was “well on his way” to becoming a violent terrorist before authorities began investigating him
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
“As a general rule, the earlier you recognize someone is trying to kill you, the better off you’ll be.”

Supreme Court Says Drunk Driving Muslim Can’t Be Deported

Islam may reject the laws of the infidels, which are not based on those of a holy 7th century warlord who occasionally claimed to be possessed by the devil, but recently it’s been a good time at the Supreme Court for Muslims.
First there was the entitlement to Muslims working at Abercrombie and Fitch. And then the Supreme Court in a 7-2 decision ruled for Moones Mellouli, a Tunisian drunk driver who had been busted in Kansas. In addition to his drunk driving, he had hidden some Adderall in his sock, which is not the place that normal people keep prescription meds.

But Justice Ginsburg ruled that he couldn’t be deported because drugs are no big deal.
Writing on behalf of the court, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said concealment of drugs in a sock was a “low-level infraction” not even criminalized in some states.
To be deported for a drug offense, an immigrant has to be convicted of a crime that has a direct link to a drug covered by federal drug laws. In Mellouli’s case, no such connection was made, Ginsburg said.
After all it’s a drug that they abuse too.
“He had four pills of Adderall, which if you go to half the colleges in America people, you know, and just randomly pick somebody, there would be a decent chance,” Justice Elena Kagan said to laughter in the courtroom.
So can we deport Kagan too?
In dissent, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote he sees “nothing absurd about removing individuals who are unwilling to respect the drug laws” where they live.
Yes, but to liberals it makes no sense to deport criminals.
As for Mellouli, his lawyer said he’s “thrilled” at the ruling and he hopes to return to the U.S.
And next time he’s driving under the influence, he might just crash into your car

FBI, cops watching Rhode Island Muslim linked to Geller beheading plot

June 7, 2015 4:06 am By Robert Spencer 9 Comments
What is the real matter of concern is what this apparent convert to Islam will do once the police cars leave his street.
Jihad Watch reader Paul informs me that Rovinski was arrested three years ago and charged with throwing a rock through the glass door of a liquor store. Paul asks: “Do you suppose vandalizing a haram liquor store stilled the fury in his believer’s heart (Qur’an 9:15)?” Probably — apparently at least for awhile.
“NBC 10 I-Team: Warwick man connected to Boston terror suspects,” by Parker Gavigan, NBC 10, June 4, 2015:
WARWICK, R.I. – The NBC 10 I-Team has learned through authorities that the Warwick man questioned by police and the FBI is the third man who met with two Boston terror suspects on a Rhode Island beach.
Court documents released Wednesday said Usaama Rahim and David Wright met a then-unidentified third person on a Rhode Island beach Sunday during a heavy rain storm to discuss a plan which involved beheading an unknown victim and also attacking police officers.
    The victim is known.
Two days later, Rahim was shot dead by Boston police and the FBI after they said he lunged at them with a military-style knife. The FBI said Rahim was under 24-hour surveillance by the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
Wright was arrested a short time later in Everett, Massachusetts, and told the FBI, according to an affidavit, about the terror plot that was discussed Sunday on the beach.
“They’re connecting the dots there, and evidently one of the dots is connected to down here,” said Bill Donnelly, a resident of the Governor Francis Farms neighborhood in Warwick, now saturated with police and reporters.
NBC News confirmed police and the FBI have been questioning a Rhode Island man since Tuesday. Authorities said he is the person referred to in court documents as having attended a discussion with Rahim and Wright last Sunday “on a beach in Rhode Island, in inclement weather” to talk about Rahim’s plans.
Separately, the NBC 10 I-Team has identified the Warwick man investigated by police as 24-year-old Nicholas Rovinski, who lives a short distance from Gaspee Point with his mother and younger brother on Aspinet Drive. The information was confirmed by a senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation.
“Growing up with him, he was never a threat to anybody, always a good kid, always really nice too,” said neighbor Brandon Waterman.
Other neighbors are now wondering why the police are on the street for the third day in a row.
“If he’s in there, why not arrest him? My conclusion is they don’t have enough evidence,” Donnelly said.
The NBC 10 I-Team has learned through authorities that the investigation is not yet complete. A representative for the Boston office of the FBI would not confirm nor deny the connection of Rovinski to the third man on the beach.

Update to this story. This video is from a PBS series called “What’s Your Calling”, and was supposed to be a clip with how people deal with frustration. There are multiple clips focusing on Tahera Ahmad that seem to be from 2010.

TSA Failed To Identify 73 Workers Linked To Terrorism
And we have these guys why?
    Via Fox News:
On the heels of Transportation Security Administration workers flunking a security test at airport checkpoints, the results of a new audit show that — while the agency keeps a robust system for screening commercial airport workers — it still failed to flag 73 airport workers “linked to terrorism.”
Apparently, TSA does not have access to all the terror watchlist information it needs to make those judgments.
“The TSA did not identify these individuals through its vetting operations because it is not authorized to receive all terrorism-related categories under current interagency watch-listing policy,” the June 4 Inspector General report stated.
