    Jihad at Ohio State University

Posted on November 28, 2016 by Baron Bodissey

There was a car-and-machete jihad incident this morning at Ohio State University in Columbus. A young Somali-American ran his car into a crowd of students. He then jumped out, slashing at them with his knife or machete, before being shot dead by an alert police officer. Ten people were wounded (some versions say nine), but we can thank the Lord that only the perpetrator was killed.
The late culture-enricher has been identified as Abdul Razak Ali Artan, variously described as 18, 19, or 20 years old, depending on which article you read.
I’ve been following this story since the news first broke, but it kept morphing, so I hesitated to post on it. It seems to have settled down now, however. Here’s a representative sample from the latest information, as reported by the Associated Press:
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Latest on an attack at the Ohio State University campus (all times local):
    4:30 p.m.
Authorities say the officer who killed an attacker at Ohio State University was a university police officer who’d been on the job for less than two years.
Department of Public Safety Director Monica Moll identified the officer as 28-year-old Alan Horujko. She says he started on the Ohio State police force in January 2015.
Ohio State Police Chief Craig Stone says it was fortunate there was a nearby gas leak that the officer had gone to investigate. Stone says it helped position Horujko to respond to the attack so quickly.
Those injured in the attack included an Ohio State faculty member, four graduate students and three undergrads.
Authorities say they were able to get photos of the suspect’s vehicle driving onto campus and confirmed only one person was in the car.
    ___

    4:10 p.m.
A director of public safety says a man who drove a car into pedestrians and began stabbing people at Ohio State was a student at the school.
Ohio State Department of Public Safety Director Monica Moll also identified the now-deceased suspect as Abdul Razak Ali Artan.
A U.S. official earlier told The Associated Press that he was born in Somalia and living in the United States as a legal permanent resident. The official wasn’t authorized to publicly discuss details of the ongoing case and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
Authorities say Artan was shot to death by a police officer Monday morning shortly after he drove up onto a curb into pedestrians, got out of the car and began stabbing people with a butcher knife.
Nine people were injured, including one critically.
    ___

    3:20 p.m.
A U.S. official has identified the suspect in the Ohio State attack that injured nine people as a man of Somali descent.
The official identified Abdul Razak Ali Artan as the now-deceased suspect. He was born in Somalia and living in the United States as a legal permanent resident. It was unclear when Artan came to the U.S.
The official wasn’t authorized to publicly discuss details of the ongoing case and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
A second law enforcement official confirmed that authorities believe the suspect’s name is Abdul Artan. That official also wasn’t authorized to publicly discuss details of the ongoing case and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Authorities say the suspect was shot to death Monday by a police officer after driving up onto a curb and into pedestrians and attacking people with a knife.
There are several loose ends and strange unresolved details to the incident. The perp was initially identified as Ali Muhammad, based on the license plate on his car, as reported over a police scanner. An hour or so later the ID changed to Abdul Artan. Yet the car he was driving seems to have been registered to Ali Muhammad. Where is Mr. Muhammad now? And what was his relationship to the late suspect? I haven’t seen anything further on him.
Early reports said that there were “at least two people” in the vehicle that rammed the building. However, later accounts revised the story to say that Mr. Artan was the only one. As you saw in the AP story, there is allegedly (CCTV?) footage confirming that only one person was in the Honda that drove into the crowd.
Just for the record, the screen caps below show two stories, one from The Columbus Dispatch and the other from Fox News (the story at the link is different now), that included the eyewitness reports about there being two people in the car:

The early reports said the crowd of students had been in the courtyard because someone had activated an alarm indicating that there was a gas leak. This was walked back later in the morning, however — the alarm was said to have been a “drill”.
Yet Alan Horujko, the policeman who killed Abdul Artan, was only on the scene because he was responding to a reported gas leak.
So what’s the deal? Was there an alarm or not? If so, did Mr. Artan have an accomplice who pulled it?
Along those lines, there’s a final, tantalizing loose end: Two men were arrested in the parking garage after Mr. Artan was shot, as reported by The Daily Mail. The Mail story included these photos of the arrests:

These guys may simply have had the misfortune to be carrying backpacks or briefcases in the vicinity of an “active shooter” event. If so, they were probably released not long afterwards without being charged.
In the “fog of war” during attacks like this one, there are often reports of multiple suspects. Later they turn out to have been mistaken, and the crowd is winnowed down to a single perp, who usually winds up dead. But this time there is actual footage of these guys being arrested. Who are they? What happened to them? I haven’t heard anything more.
    Other sources:

There’s more coming up. As this post goes to press, there is a report about a Facebook post alleged to be by Mr. Artan. But I’ll cut the story off here; I’m sure this won’t be the last time I write about him.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.

Should America Be Celebrating the Donning of a Hijab and Burkini in a Beauty Contest?

    By D. C. McAllister November 28, 2016
    chat 20 comments

A Somali-American teenager is being celebrated as the first woman in history to make it to the semifinals of a beauty contest while wearing a hijab throughout the competition and a burkini during the swimsuit portion.
Halima Aden, 19, says she decided to compete in the Miss Minnesota USA competition to show people “who she really is” and to tell other Muslim women that they “are empowered” and can “do anything” if they try. Social media has responded with fervent praise.
But should America be celebrating the donning of a hijab and burkini in a beauty contest? It’s certainly hard to reconcile the teaching of Islam with a spectacle like the Miss USA pageant in which physical beauty is put on public display and judged. This seems to fly in the face of the Quran, which clearly teaches in 24:31 that women are to veil their beauty, not flaunt it for the world to see.

    Sponsored

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss. (Yusuf Ali)
In a beauty pageant that celebrates female beauty, it’s difficult to judge a woman’s looks if most of it is hidden, which, as stated in the excerpt above, is one of the reasons for coverings in the first place.
Female beauty in Islam is considered a sexual temptation to men, which is why they’re not to “display their beauty except to their husbands.”
In other words, instead of men taking personal responsibility for their thoughts and actions, women have to cover up their sexuality so men won’t be tempted. Think about that. Women, who are simply being themselves, are blamed for a man’s lust!
Such “purity” is really a prison in which women must put themselves. Their freedom is sacrificed on the altar of “honor.” In the name of not sexualizing women, Islamists sexualize them to such a degree that they must be covered to hide their physical beauty. This goes way beyond mere modesty.

This treatment of women has been soundly rejected by the West, yet here we are, celebrating and normalizing the wearing of the hijab as if it’s just a fashion statement or simply a commitment to chastity. What used to be seen as backwards, not only in the West, but in many Muslim countries as well, is on the rise.
Athletes are competing in hijabs, and Western female competitors are being told they have to wear them if they compete in Muslim countries. Schools are encouraged to participate in activities such as “Walk a Mile in Her Hijab Day.” Here’s a video of students at a high school in Illinois helping each other don hijabs.
There’s also a World Hijab Day celebration in which woman are encouraged to wear hijabs as a sign of “empowerment” and are called “queens, princesses, and sultanas.” We even have a new line of emoji depicting women in hijabs due to the increase in demand for emoji with headscarfs and beards.
While people are free to wear what they want, celebrating a religious and cultural practice that denigrates women is something people who value liberty and equality must not do.

Asra Nomani, co-founder of the Muslim Reform movement and author of “Standing Alone: An American Woman’s Struggle for the Soul of Islam,” wrote an article in the Washington Post with fellow Muslim Hala Arafa, asking women “not to wear the hijab in the name of interfaith solidarity.” These Muslim women say passages like the one above are speaking to cultural issues at the time they were written and have no literal application today; any teachings to be gleaned are spiritual in nature.
They also reject the “interpretation that the hijab is merely a symbol of modesty and dignity adopted by faithful female followers of Islam.”

To us, the “hijab” is a symbol of an interpretation of Islam we reject that believes that women are a sexual distraction to men, who are weak, and thus must not be tempted by the sight of our hair. We don’t buy it. This ideology promotes a social attitude that absolves men of sexually harassing women and puts the onus on the victim to protect herself by covering up. . . .As women who grew up in modern Muslim families with theologians, we are trying to reclaim our religion from the prongs of a strict interpretation. Like in our youth, we are witnessing attempts to make this strict ideology the one and only accepted face of Islam. We have seen what the resurgence of political Islam has done to our regions of origin and to our adoptive country.
As Americans, we believe in freedom of religion. But we need to clarify to those in universities, the media and discussion forums that in exploring the “hijab,” they are not exploring Islam, but rather the ideology of political Islam as practiced by the mullahs, or clerics, of Iran and Saudi Arabia, the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Islamic State.
In the name of “interfaith,” these well-intentioned Americans are getting duped by the agenda of Muslims who argue that a woman’s honor lies in her “chastity” and unwittingly pushing a platform to put a hijab on every woman.
Please do this instead: Do not wear a headscarf in “solidarity” with the ideology that most silences us, equating our bodies with “honor.” Stand with us instead with moral courage against the ideology of Islamism that demands we cover our hair.
Yasmin Alibhai-Brown agrees, writing at The Guardian, “As a Muslim woman, I see the veil as a rejection of progressive values.” Like Nomani and Arafa, Alibhai-Brown gives the history of the hijab and tells how movement in the sixties to free women of this oppressive practice has been sidetracked by a severely fundamentalist movement—one the West should not celebrate or adopt.

All religions cast women as sinners and temptresses. Conservative Islam has revived the slander for our times. Women have to be sequestered or contained lest they raise male lust and cause public disorder. Some young Muslim women argue that veils liberate them from a modern culture that objectifies and sexualises females. That argument is appealing; but if credible, why would so many hijabis dress in tight jeans and clinging tops, and why would so many Muslim women flock to have liposuction or breast enhancements?
    Or compete in beauty contests?
Alibhai-Brown admits the issue is complicated, but when all the justifications are cleared away, for her, veils “represent both religious arrogance and subjugation.”

[T]hey both desexualise and fervidly sexualise. Women are primarily seen as sexual creatures whose hair and bodies incite desire and disorder in the public space. The claim that veils protect women from lasciviousness and disrespect carries an element of self-deception. I have been at graduation ceremonies where shrouded female students have refused to shake the hand of the chancellor. Veiled women have provoked confrontations over their right to wear veils, in courts, at schools and in colleges and workplaces. But I regard their victories as a rejection of social compromise.Like a half-naked woman, a veiled female to me represents an affront to female dignity, autonomy and potential. Both are marionettes, and have internalised messages about femaleness.
Alibhai-Brown asks those who are tempted to celebrate this oppressive practice to “think of women in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and even the west, who are prosecuted, flogged, tortured or killed for not complying.”

This is not a freestanding choice – it can’t be. Although we hear from vocal British hijabis and niqabis, those who are forced cannot speak out. A fully burqaed woman once turned up at my house, a graduate, covered in cuts, burns, bruises and bites. Do we know how many wounded, veiled women walk around hidden among us?
Symbols of female sexual shame should not be tolerated in a free society. This doesn’t mean there should be a ban by the state, but as a culture and in our private spheres, we are free to speak out against oppression in every form—this includes covering female beauty and promoting a shame-based ideology that brings no honor to women, only subjugation.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.

CNN Touts ‘Fearful’ Muslim Woman; Omits Her Activism at Terror-linked MPAC

Posted on November 29, 2016 by creeping
CNN and other big media still haven’t learned and are still pushing contrived, one-sided, biased and untruthful propaganda. From the aptly named and quite busy, Newsbusters.com: CNN Touts Muslim Woman ‘Fearful’ After Trump Win; Omits Her Activism
Monday’s New Day on CNN played up how a young Muslim woman, Marwa Abdelghani, stopped wearing the traditional Islamic head scarf after an alleged spitting incident before Election Day: “It was getting closer and closer to November 8. That’s when I decided that I just was going to take it off for a while.” Kyung Lah gave Abdelghani a platform to denounce President-Elect Donald Trump for his “racist, Islamophobic, sexist statements,” but failed to mention that she acts as a “community outreach fellow” for an activist organization for American Muslims.
Alisyn Camerota reacted to Lah’s “interesting story” by expressing her hope that “there will be a movement where people wear the head scarf in solidarity…even if you’re not Muslim, maybe. It’s the way people shave their heads…sometimes, in solidarity with somebody who’s going through something. Maybe, you’ll see a wave of the opposite happening.”
There is a movement, it’s called ISIS. CAIR. HAMAS. ISNA. MSA. MAS. MPAC.

Camerota led into the correspondent’s report by hyping how “some Muslim women in America say that since the election, they dread what the future may hold. Some of them are fearful for their safety, and they’re taking matters into their own hands.” Lah first played a clip of Abdelghani revealing her “relief” after she stopped wearing the veil, as she “didn’t feel like a target anymore.” The journalist added that the student was “visible target — a Muslim woman in a head scarf.”
Lah continued with her clip of Abdelghani recounting her drive-by spitting incident, and touted how “since the election, the Southern Poverty Law Center has tracked more than 700 hate incidents.” However, the CNN correspondent also disclosed that many Muslim women’s “sense of safety began to change after this picture of San Bernardino killer Tashfeen Malik went public.” Lah followed this detail with her soundbite of the young Muslim woman blasting Trump’s “racist, Islamophobic, sexist statements.”
The journalist never pointed out that Abdelghani works for the Muslim Public Affairs Council as their community outreach fellow. Prior to this, according to her bio page for the organization, she worked “as a facilitator of the Muslim Gamechangers Network of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, where she trained high school Muslims on social justice issues.” Of course, CAIR is a controversial organization that labeled several mainstream conservatives and conservative organizations “Islamophobic.”
Muslim Public Affairs Council isn’t as well known as CAIR. However, its president, Salam al-Marayati, has been involved in several controversies in recent years. Shortly after 9/11, the activist pointed a finger at Israel for the terrorist attack. Despite this, Marayati has maintained a relationship with Bill and Hillary Clinton since at least 1996, when he served as a delegate for the former president. He also served as a homeland security adviser for the Obama administration.

    Read it all.

More on Marwa Abdelghani’s MPAC, via:
The History of MPAC (Muslim Public Affairs Council)

Established in 1988 by followers of the Muslim Brotherhood and admirers of Hezbollah
In October 2000, MPAC hosted a rally in Washington’s Lafayette Park at which Abdurahman Alamoudi — then regarded in Washington as another “moderate” Muslim leader — was featured as a speaker. To often raucous applause, Alamoudi asserted, “I have been labeled by the media in New York to be a supporter of Hamas. Anybody supports Hamas here? [Crowd cheers responsively] . . . Hear that, Bill Clinton? We are ALL supporters of Hamas. Allahu Akhbar! I wish they added that I am also a supporter of Hezbollah!”
Its founders include Hassan Hathout, the former MPAC president who has described himself as “a close disciple” of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna. Hathout’s brother Maher, a senior MPAC adviser, is lavish in his praise of both Hezbollah’s “freedom fighting” and the social-justice pioneering of Hassan al-Turabi, the leader of Sudan’s National Islamic Front — the genocidal junta that gave safe haven to al-Qaeda in the early 1990s while imposing sharia on that war-torn east African nation.

Alamoudi would later be found guilty of funding al-Qaeda and sent to prison. More background on MPAC here.

A few weeks ago CNN was caught pushing fake Muslim propaganda as well:

CNN’s Alisyn Camerota: Americans should wear headscarves in solidarity with Muslims

November 29, 20169:22 am By Robert Spencer 76 Comments
Where is Alisyn Camerota’s concern for Aqsa Parvez, whose Muslim father choked her to death with her hijab after she refused to wear it? Or Aqsa and Amina Muse Ali, a Christian woman in Somalia whom Muslims murdered because she wasn’t wearing a hijab? Or the 40 women who were murdered in Iraq in 2007 for not wearing the hijab; or Alya Al-Safar, whose Muslim cousin threatened to kill her and harm her family because she stopped wearing the hijab in Britain; or Amira Osman Hamid, who faced whipping in Sudan for refusing to wear the hijab; or the Egyptian girl, also named Amira, who committed suicide after being brutalized for her family for refusing to wear the hijab; or the Muslim and non-Muslim teachers at the Islamic College of South Australia who were told that they had to wear the hijab or be fired; or the women in Chechnya whom police shot with paintballs because they weren’t wearing hijab; or the women also in Chechnya who were threatened by men with automatic rifles for not wearing hijab; or the elementary school teachers in Tunisia who were threatened with death for not wearing hijab; or the Syrian schoolgirls who were forbidden to go to school unless they wore hijab; or the women in Gaza whom Hamas has forced to wear hijab; or the women in Iran who protested against the regime by daring to take off their legally-required hijab; or the women in London whom Muslim thugs threatened to murder if they didn’t wear hijab; or the anonymous young Muslim woman who doffed her hijab outside her home and started living a double life in fear of her parents, or all the other women and girls who have been killed or threatened, or who live in fear for daring not to wear the hijab?
Who is standing in solidarity with them? Those who taunt or brutalize hijab-wearing women are louts and creeps, and should be prosecuted if they commit any acts of violence. At the same time, the women who don’t wear hijab in Muslim countries are far more likely to be victims of violence than hijabis in the West. Who speaks for them?

    The Left Loves Islamic Terrorists:
OSU Diversity Officer Urges Compassion for Somali Terrorist Who Attacked Students

OSU Diversity Officer Urges Compassion For Somali Terrorist Who Attacked Students

The Ohio State University assistant director of residence life allegedly expressed sympathy for Somali stabber Abdul Razak Ali Artan in a bizarre Facebook post Monday that has since gone viral.
Stephanie Clemons Thompson urged her followers to have compassion for Artan after he expressed a desire "to kill a billion infidels" and then tried to kill as many as he could at OSU. She also urged people to “think of the pain he must have been in,” and used the hashtags #BlackLivesMatter and #SayHisName (which BLM uses to denote victims of police brutality).

If Ohio State officer Alan Horujko had not been able to quickly take Artan down, the terrorist could have ended up killing many people, rather than only sending ten of them to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries (one of them critical). No one in their right mind could possibly consider his actions an example of police brutality against a minority. But Thompson seemed to do so in her Facebook post.

The fact that she urged her friends not to share the Facebook post seems to indicate she understood how negatively her message would be viewed by a wider public.

$1 billion U.S. taxpayer dollars spent on hospitals and infrastructure…in Palestine

Posted on November 30, 2016 by creeping

Taxation for Islamization. Source: Okla Sen. Lankford releases new ‘Federal Fumbles’ report on gov’t waste
“This ‘Federal Fumbles’ report provides specific examples of wasteful spending and unnecessary regulations that are not in the taxpayer’s best interest, and shows specific solutions for how the federal government can become more efficient,” he said.
The report, called “Federal Fumbles: 100 ways the government dropped the ball,” lists $247 billion in what it calls wasteful and inefficient federal spending, as well as offering solutions for the examples.
The report also found $1 billion was spent on hospitals and infrastructure in Palestine.

Read the report and scroll through some previous Creeping Sharia posts documenting many billions of American taxpayer dollars wasted on Hamas-run Palestine, here. Some of that money goes directly to terrorists or is used to commemorate Muslim terrorists, here and here.

FAR LEFT LOONS blame Donald Trump for leaving the Somali Muslim community in America vulnerable to hate

Of course, it had nothing to do with the latest terrorist attack in America at Ohio State University where a Somali Muslim terrorist wounded and nearly killed 10 people as he ran them over with his car and stabbed them with a butcher knife.

“We are black. We are Muslim. We are Somali. We are all the negative stigmas.”

Think ProgressAn attack by a Somali-American Ohio State University student on Monday has raised tension in an American community already facing demonization from figures as powerful as the president-elect.

Somali Muslms in America demand free halal food funded by American taxpayers

Before Monday’s bloodshed, theSomali community was already on edge. Members of the community are double minorities — Black and Muslim — and their status as the “most visible Muslim community in America” has left them in a vulnerable state, despite denunciations of the OSU attacker from Somali-American community leaders.

Figures vary, but in 2010 there were 85,700 people of Somali ancestry in the United States. That number is likely significantly higher now.

Somali Muslim Rape Gangs have been arrested in several states in America

Donald Trump, the candidate, had harsh words about the Somali Muslim refugee problem in Minnesota: “You’ve suffered enough in Minnesota …”Trump devoted a great portion of his speech to talking about Somali refugees in Minnesota, referring to their presence as a disaster.”

TWITCHY After their disappointment that the latest Muslim terrorist attack would not allow them to demand more gun control, they turned their attention to Somali Muslims in America who might be subjected to name-calling by “Islamophobes.”

Never mind that Abdul Razak Ali Artan railed against America and espoused Islamist rhetoric. Or that IS has claimed responsibility for the attack. What matters is that we point our fingers at Donald Trump and other people who had nothing to do with what happened.

NC Muslim planned jihad massacres for the Islamic State in NC and Virginia

November 30, 20163:43 pm By Robert Spencer 14 Comments
“I liked IS from the beginning then I started thinking about death and stuff so I became Muslim…I’ll kill people this month,” he said, and he did. But authorities remain resolutely uninterested in exploring the question of why so many converts to Islam turn to treason, violence, and terrorism.

“20-year-old says he planned ISIS terror attacks in Virginia, North Carolina,” by Rachel Weiner, Washington Post, November 29, 2016:
Justin Sullivan plotted to kill hundreds of people in North Carolina and Virginia on behalf of the Islamic State and wanted a silencer for a gun. So he had one built from a flashlight and delivered to the Morganton, N.C., house he shared with his parents. When his parents asked what he planned to do with it, he tried to have them killed.
The person he offered to pay to kill his parents and who sent him the silencer was an undercover FBI employee. Sullivan, 20, admitted his plot on Tuesday, pleading guilty in federal court in North Carolina to attempting to commit acts of terrorism.
According to court documents, Sullivan began watching videos of Islamic State beheadings and other atrocities on his laptop in September 2014.
He converted to Islam, announced his support for the Islamic State to his parents and destroyed some of their religious objects.
“I liked IS from the beginning then I started thinking about death and stuff so I became Muslim,” he later told the FBI employee, the indictment in the case said.
By June 2015, Sullivan had made contact with Junaid Hussain, an Islamic State recruiter who was reported killed in a drone strike in Syria two months later. A British hacker-turned-militant, Hussain encouraged several attempted terrorist attacks in the United States. A Kosovo-based hacker passed along personal information about U.S. military personnel to Hussain.
According to authorities, Hussain asked Sullivan to film a video of his deadly attack for use by the Islamic State.
Sullivan agreed. “I’ll kill people this month,” he told the FBI agent on June 7, 2015. Sullivan said he would carry out his attack in a bar, club or concert, where he hoped to kill as many as 1,000 people. Court documents do not say if he identified a specific target.
Sullivan is also suspected of killing a 74-year-old neighbor, John Bailey Clark, to get enough money to finance his terrorist attack, authorities said. They said Sullivan admitted that he stole a .22-caliber rifle from his stepfather’s gun cabinet.
Forensic testing linked the rifle to Clark’s death

Keith Ellison met in Saudi Arabia with jihadi cleric and bank that funds jihad bombings

November 30, 20163:12 pm By Robert Spencer 20 Comments
Ellison has spoken at a convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Yet ISNA has actually admitted its ties to Hamas, which styles itself the Palestinian arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Justice Department actually classified ISNA among entities “who are and/or were members of the US Muslim Brotherhood.”
It gets worse. In 2008, Ellison accepted $13,350 from the Muslim American Society (MAS) to go on a pilgrimage to Mecca. The Muslim American Society is a Muslim Brotherhood organization: “In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation’s major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members.” That’s from the Chicago Tribune in 2004, in an article that is now carried on the Muslim Brotherhood’s English-language website, Ikhwanweb.
Also, the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) raised large amounts of for Ellison’s first campaign, and he has spoken at numerous CAIR events. Yet CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.
    This is today’s Democratic Party.

“Keith Ellison’s Saudi Arabia Trip Included Meetings With Radical Cleric, Bank That Funds Suicide Bombings,” by Brent Scher, Washington Free Beacon, November 29, 2016:
Rep. Keith Ellison (D., Minn.) during a 2008 trip to Saudi Arabia met with a radical Muslim cleric who endorsed killing U.S. soldiers and with the president of a bank used to pay the families of Palestinian suicide bombers.
Ellison, now a leading candidate to head the Democratic National Committee, was brought to Saudi Arabia for a two-week trip by the Muslim American Society (MAS), a group founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood to act as its “overt arm” in the United States.
Details of Ellison’s religious pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia are scarce, but photographs discovered by the Washington Free Beacon show that Ellison met with controversial figures during the trip.
A photo album of Ellison’s hajj trip posted by MAS’s Minnesota chapter includes a picture of the congressman meeting with Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, who was vice president of a Muslim Brotherhood-created group that in 2004 issued a fatwa urging “jihad” against U.S. troops in Iraq and supported the Palestinians’ Second Intifada against Israel.

“The Jihad-waging Iraqi people’s resistance to the foreign occupation … is a Shari’a duty incumbent upon anyone belonging to the Muslim nation,” the fatwa said, according to a translation by the Middle East Media Research Institute.
Bin Bayyah’s group, the International Association of Muslim Scholars, issued the fatwa after a conference in Beirut, Lebanon.
The group was founded by Yusuf Qaradawi, a Muslim Brotherhood leader who was banned from visiting the United States because of his calls to kill Jews and Americans.
Bin Biyyah issued an additional fatwa in 2009, shortly after his meeting with Ellison, “barring all forms of normalization with Israel.”
Ellison also took time on his trip to meet with Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, the president of a Saudi Arabia-based bank that funnels millions of dollars to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers in Israel.
Ali’s bank, the Islamic Development Bank, maintains the Al-Quds Intifada Fund and the Al-Aqsa Fund, which were established in 2000 to fund Palestinian terrorism and provide money to the families of Palestinian “martyrs.” The funds were established with an initial investment of $200 million.
Ali said his bank—which is referred to as the “Bank of the Intifada” by Anne Bayefsky, director of the Touro College Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust—is responsible “for the smooth functioning of the two funds” and that there is “no delay” in paying families of “martyrs.”
“There was no delay in paying financial assistance to the families of Palestinian martyrs,” Ali said in 2001. “We have started paying them soon after receiving the money.”
Ellison’s congressional office has not responded to numerous requests for comment on his trip.
Ellison told congressional investigators on the House Ethics Committee that he did not have any “meetings of an official nature” on his trip and “instead undertook only the more personal itinerary scheduled by the Muslim American Society.”…
Kyle Shideler, director of the Center for Security Policy’s threat information office, expressed alarm when told of Ellison’s meetings.
“The notion that a sitting congressman would meet with a man whose organization only four years earlier had issued a fatwa calling for fighting Americans in Iraq once again illustrates the truly outrageous depth of Rep. Ellison’s affiliation with Islamist groups,” Shideler said….
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
