Muslims yes, Jews no: The hypocrisy of the New York Times

June 7, 20168:59 am By Robert Spencer 7 Comments
The New York Times always sides with Muslims and against Christians and Jews. It is not a reliable source of news and analysis. It is just another propaganda arm retailing the point of view that the political elites want you to hold — and that point of view is that special accommodation for Muslims is always and everywhere justified, while accommodations for any other group are an affront to the Constitution.

“Muslims Yes, Jews No: The Hypocrisy of the NY Times,” by Rabbi Benjamin Blech, Aish.com, June 4, 2016:
This time the New York Times really outdid itself.
If there were an award for hypocrisy, the hands-down winner should clearly be the paper which has long regarded itself as “the newspaper of record.” Within the span of just a few months, the Times editorial board took heated and diametrically opposed positions on the identical issue – the only difference being whether an accommodation was being made for the religious sensitivities of Muslims or of Orthodox Jews.
This past February, when the city of Toronto allowed for women-only sessions at a public pool at specific hours at the behest of Muslim residents, the Times was delighted. Although it was a story from across the border, the editorial writers of the newspaper gushed at this beautiful demonstration of “community integration.” This was a “model of inclusion.” Here was Canada showing us how citizens with differing views of modesty and morality could be extended the courtesy of understanding and the consideration of a policy which would be willing to extend community benefits to all at the cost of minimal sacrifice. The pool might not be open to everybody at all times, but everybody could find some times to enjoy a publicly funded recreation.
So religious accommodation, the Times effusively affirmed is a good thing even if, just like any accommodation, it requires a little compromise. But remarkably enough that is not the way they saw it at all when the ideal was now offered as justification for Orthodox Jews having a few hours during the week set aside at a municipal pool in Brooklyn for women whose religious scruples prevent them from swimming together with men.
Suddenly the former defendants of inclusiveness viewed the matter in a totally different light. This desire on the part of, as it turns out, an exceedingly large number of residents in that particular area of Williamsburg to be true to their traditions of modesty is, according to the New York Times, an affront to “the laws of New York City and the Constitution.” The same Constitution in whose name liberals today so vociferously demand equality for same-sex marriages, unrestricted bathroom use for trans-genders and a host of other “rights” which may upset others it seems according to the interpretation of the Times is unequivocally opposed to granting consideration to Orthodox Jews for their beliefs….

Robert Spencer in FrontPage: Ramadan: Month of Jihad

June 7, 20167:17 am By Robert Spencer 38 Comments
As Muslims struggle to increase their devotion to Allah, expect more mass murder. Here’s why, from my latest in FrontPage:

Another Ramadan is upon us, and no less an authority on Islam than Barack Hussein Obama has assured us that “for many, this month is an opportunity to focus on reflection and spiritual growth, forgiveness, patience and resilience, compassion for those less fortunate, and unity across communities.” Meanwhile, a Muslim whom Obama would disparage as a “violent extremist” who has hijacked the religion of peace, Islamic State spokesman Abu Mohammad al-Adnani, called on Muslims to use this Ramadan to “get prepared, be ready … to make it a month of calamity everywhere for nonbelievers…especially for the fighters and supporters of the caliphate in Europe and America.”
Ramadan 2016 began with the news that a group of Muslims in Jordan were so filled with pious fervor that they murdered five Jordanian intelligence officers in an attack on a security office. The perpetrators may have been acting upon the understanding of Ramadan that a jihad group enunciated back in 2012: “The month of Ramadan is a month of holy war and death for Allah. It is a month for fighting the enemies of Allah and God’s messenger, the Jews and their American facilitators. One of our groups aided by Allah managed to bomb a bus full of Jewish tourists, plunderers of holy lands, after careful tracking. The holy war is not confined to a particular arena and we shall fight the Jews and the Americans until they leave the land of Islam.”
So which is it? Is Ramadan a time to “an opportunity to focus on reflection and spiritual growth, forgiveness, patience and resilience, compassion for those less fortunate, and unity across communities,” or is it “a month of calamity everywhere for nonbelievers”?
In fact, it’s both. During Ramadan, Muslims are exhorted to renew and deepen their devotion to Allah. Hence it is a time when they’re supposed to grow more generous and kind toward their fellow Muslims. However, the Qur’an says: “Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves” (48:29). If the Ramadan imperative is to become more devout, the Muslim who applies himself diligently to the Ramadan observance will simultaneously become more both merciful to his fellow Muslims and more severe against the unbelievers.
Murdering infidels thus doesn’t contradict the spirit of Ramadan; it embodies it. The Kavkaz Center, a website operated by Chechen jihadists, explained in a 2010 article that the idea of Ramadan as a time for warfare against infidels went back to Muhammad’s time: “The month of Ramadan in the life of the Prophet (pbuh) and the righteous ancestors was a month of forthcoming. The greatest battles during the lifetime of the Prophet (pbuh) occurred in this blessed month, the month of jihad, zeal and enthusiasm.”
Obama is, true to form, severely misleading the American people when he focuses exclusively upon Ramadan’s exhortation to charity (the part of the Qur’an verse about being “merciful” to one’s fellow Muslims) without mentioning its imperative to terrorize infidels (the other part, about being “severe” toward the unbelievers). But as we have seen already in Jordan, all too many Muslims around the world are fully aware of that part of the Ramadan observance, and are ready to carry it out.
It is folly to pretend that the aspect of Ramadan that makes it a more dangerous time for non-Muslims doesn’t exist: dangerous, suicidal folly. But the fact that no one in the public square even thinks to question Obama’s Ramadan congratulations, which roll around every year in the same form, shows how widespread that folly is. Obama’s Ramadan message for this year concluded: “I can think of no better way to mark my Administration’s last celebration of Ramadan as President than to honor the contributions of Muslims in America and across the world for Eid. Ramadan Kareem.”
What contributions of Muslims in America? He has alluded to them before, but once again he didn’t bother to list any, and of course no one asked. That Muslims have made great contributions to America (beyond spurring tremendous developments in airline security, that is) is simply an unquestionable dogma of our silly and stupid age; no one needs ask the President for examples, because those contributions are taken as axiomatic, with only “Islamophobes” questioning them. That there aren’t any actual such contributions is an inconvenient fact, to be sure, but one so thoroughly obscured by propaganda that everyone feels it can be safely ignored.
The cognitive dissonance here equals that about Ramadan itself. And as our Ramadan follies and willful blindness continue, more Infidels will die.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
“As a general rule, the earlier you recognize someone is trying to kill you, the better off you’ll be.”

Arabic is the fastest-growing language in American homes

Posted on June 7, 2016 by creeping
Thanks to Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton, the world is witnessing the largest hijra in history.
via This is the fastest-growing language in American homes | New York Post h/t Dee
Arabic is the fastest-growing language in American households — and that’s leading the US Census Bureau to explore the tricky task of adjusting its questionnaires to accommodate the language’s right-to-left script.
The bureau is using focus groups to explore possible changes to the 2020 census questionnaires for Arabic speakers who are not English-proficient, the Pew Research Center reported Friday.
Arabic is now the seventh-most commonly spoken non-English language in US households. An estimated 1.1 million people ages 5 and older speak Arabic at home, an increase of 29 percent between 2010 and 2014.
The number who speak Spanish at home has grown only 6 percent during the same period.
Of those who speak Arabic at home, 38 percent are not proficient in English, according to census estimates.
That’s just below the 42 percent English proficiency rate among the 39.3 million US residents who speak Spanish at home.
The growth in Arabic is linked to continued immigration from Middle Eastern and North African countries, according to the Pew Research Center.
One major challenge facing census officials is whether to require a response in English and when to allow an Arabic response.
A focus-group study recommended that the address fields require people to use English, because an American address might not be accurately translated into Arabic, according to the Pew Research Center.
Arabic names present another complication — as they can be transliterated into English in different ways because the letters of the Arabic alphabet don’t necessarily have direct English equivalents.
For example, the Arabic name Hussein can be transliterated into English at least five additional ways: Hussain, Husein, Husain, Houssain and Houssein.

The census will be the least of the challenges non-Arabic speaking Americans face in the coming decades. Islamic supremacism, sharia and the infamous Arabic shriek of jihad slaughter – allah akbar – this will be the challenge Americans are forced to fight.

FBI director: Number of Islamic State cases in US has not dropped off

June 8, 20168:13 am By Robert Spencer 3 Comments
We keep hearing from mainstream analysts that the Islamic State is losing. We’ve been hearing it almost since the inception of the Islamic State. Unfortunately, the facts keep suggesting otherwise in numerous important areas.
Comey “said the group’s slick videos and propaganda can resonate with people of all ages, but seem to draw in people under 30 who are ‘unmoored’ in some way.” But about why “the group’s slick videos and propaganda” continue to “resonate with people of all ages” he remains resolutely incurious, as the answer would lead him into examining the texts and teachings of Islam and how they are inculcated into believers, and the Obama administration is committed to the ridiculous but unquestionable dogma that the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam, even in its recruitment techniques.

“FBI director: Number of IS cases in US has not dropped off,” by Amy Forliti, Associated Press, June 7, 2016 (thanks to Lookmann):
BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (AP) — The director of the FBI said Tuesday that the Islamic State group is currently the main threat facing the United States, both in its efforts to recruit fighters to join its members overseas and to have others carry out violence in America.
Director James Comey said the IS group poses a third potential threat: a “terrorist diaspora” that he said will eventually flow out of Syria and Iraq and end up in Western Europe, where members will have easy access to the U.S.
“There’s three prongs to this ISIL threat,” Comey said. “The recruitment to travel, the recruitment to violence in place, and then what you saw a preview of in Brussels and in Paris – hardened fighters coming out, looking to kill people.”
He said officials are “laser-focused on that.”
Comey took questions from reporters Tuesday in the FBI’s Minneapolis office as part of a two-day visit to the region that included meetings with community leaders and local law enforcement….
Comey said the FBI is continuing to focus on the Islamic State group, and there are close to 1,000 open cases nationwide involving people at various stages of recruitment. He said the group’s slick videos and propaganda can resonate with people of all ages, but seem to draw in people under 30 who are “unmoored” in some way.
He said he hopes the FBI’s work, including the convictions in Minneapolis, will send a message that “there will be severe consequences for people who go down that path.”
Comey added that the number of active IS-related cases hasn’t decreased, but the number of people seeking to travel to Syria has dropped since the end of last summer – going from about six to 10 attempted travelers each month to about one or two.
He said he can’t pinpoint the reasons for the trend, but it’s possible people are traveling to other Islamic State outposts, have been deterred by the outcomes of other criminal cases, or have been stopped by families and community members.
Another – and more disturbing – possibility is that some are staying in the U.S. and looking to carry out violence here, Comey said.
“It’s good news the traveler numbers have come down,” he said. “I don’t know exactly what to make of it yet.”…
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.

US Muslim Leader: “Allahu Akbar…Islam Is Here to Dominate”

Posted on June 8, 2016 by creeping

    h/t Pamela Geller who writes:
Haitham Ibn Thbait, of the American chapter of Hizb Ut-Tahrir, is honest where most American Muslim leaders tell credulous audiences everything they want to hear. Note how neatly Ibn Thbait’s words coincide with the words of Hamas-CAIR’s co-founder, Omar Ahmad, who said: “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant,” and “The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.” This is no accident or coincidence. These are two Muslim leaders who let the mask slip.
Video at the link above or via “An American Hizb Ut-Tahrir Leader Exhorts Muslims to Refrain from Voting in U.S. Elections, Says: Islam Is Here to Dominate,” MEMRI:
Haitham Ibn Thbait, of the American chapter of Hizb Ut-Tahrir, recently exhorted American Muslims to avoid falling into the “electoral trap” and called upon them not to vote in the U.S. elections, saying that getting Muslims to vote was part of an effort to assimilate them and that they had been “tricked” into voting for Clinton, Bush, and Obama in the past. Speaking at the Khilafah 2016 conference, held in Chicago on May 15, Ibn Thbait further called Obama a “terrorist” and said that “Islam is here to dominate.” The address was posted on YouTube by Hizb Ut-Tahrir on May 20.
    Following are excerpts
Haitham Ibn Thbait: The Prophet said: “There is no god but Allah.” Instead the [elites of Mecca] rejected. They offered the Prophet wealth, status, and political representation – a seat on the executive branch within Mecca’s secular order – all to avoid this statement and its implications. Yet he rejected their offers and continued his journey towards radical change, providing us with step-by-step instructions on how to make this religion supreme. Continue reading →

Mahomed Haji was arraigned Tuesday for burglary and disorderly conduct.
According to arrest records, he broke windows and kicked in a back door at a mosque on South Fourth Street Monday morning.
Police said when an officer arrived, the 31-year-old was still busting out windows with a large stick and threatened to destroy the mosque and a nearby liquor store when he was released from jail.
A judge left his bond at $5,000.
“The conduct alleged here is highly unusual and does concern the court for the safety of the community and those who worship at that mosque and other mosques in this community,” Judge David Holton said.
Haji will be back in court next week.

Detroit-area mosque to host unveiling of new Muslim stamp

    Published June 09, 2016

This undated photo provided by The United States Postal Service, shows an image of a stamp commemorating the two most important festivals, or eids, in the Islamic calendar: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Like other stamps in the Postal Service's Holiday Celebrations series, the Eid stamp is being issued as a Forever stamp. Forever stamps are always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail one-ounce price. The First-Day-of-Issue ceremony for the new Eid stamp will take place at the Islamic Center of America Friday, June 10, 2016 in Dearborn, Mi. DEARBORN, Mich. – A Detroit-area mosque plans to host the national unveiling of a stamp commemorating two Muslim holy days.

The U.S. Postal Service ceremony for the "Eid Greetings" stamp will be held Friday at Dearborn's Islamic Center of America.
Dan Lesperance is the postal service marketing manager in Detroit. He says it's the first time the area has hosted a "first-day-of-issue" ceremony since the January 2014 unveiling of a stamp honoring Rosa Parks.
The Detroit area has one of the nation's largest Muslim populations.
This is the fifth "Eid stamp" and observes Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Fitr marks the end of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, which began this week. Eid al-Adha follows about two months later, capping the annual pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca.
