A Year After Chattanooga Attack, Navy Finally Decides To Put Armed Sailors At Recruiting Stations
You need a year to tell you? Let us remember these brave and good men.

The Navy is moving to place armed watch-standers at recruiting stations nationwide, a move that comes a year after shootings at a recruiting station and a reserve center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, claimed the lives of four Marines and a sailor.
The decision is the result of a broad investigation of the security of Navy buildings outside major bases, such as reserve centers and recruiting stations that are often open to the public and, prior to the shooting, did not have armed guards.
The Navy has not released the results of the investigation, citing an ongoing FBI probe into the shooting, but in an interview, Fleet Forces officials laid out the major changes and increased security that are in various stages of implementation.

Tennessee: Friends, family knew Muslim who killed Marines wanted jihad, failed to alert authorities

July 16, 2015 Chattanooga, Tenn. Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez shot and killed four U.S. Marines, one Navy officer and wounded two others and a Chattanooga police officer at the Naval Operational Support Center on Amnicola Highway shortly after firing into the Armed Forces Career Center on Lee Highway.

The 24-year-old Muslim man who carried out the July 16 terrorist attack in Chattanooga was radicalized for at least a year before he opened fire on two military sites and killed five U.S. service members, an FBI agent told the Times Free Press today.
The FBI believes people who knew Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez knew he was becoming radicalized before the attack, but failed to report Abdulazeez to authorities, Special Agent Ed Reinhold said.
Abdulazeez was radicalized online before he took a July 2014 trip to the Middle East to visit family and discussed committing jihad before he carried out the attack in Chattanooga, Reinhold said.
“He had discussed committing jihad; he had not taken any affirmative action toward it,” Reinhold said.
Reinhold declined to say where those discussions took place, or with whom. He said the FBI was not aware of the discussions before the attack, and added that Abdulazeez did not espouse his beliefs or intentions online.
Abdulazeez definitely planned the attack and intended to kill as many people as he could, Reinhold said, but the planning was relatively short-term.
“I know he wanted to commit jihad and commit jihad here in the United States, but I don’t think the specific target was necessarily picked out too far in advance. There was some planning involved, but not years-worth.”
Reinhold declined to say whether the FBI intends to pursue charges against the people who failed to report Abdulazeez’s radicalization.
He also would not say whether anyone is currently under surveillance in Chattanooga in connection to last year’s attack, but emphasized there is no threat of an imminent follow-up attack and that the investigation is active and ongoing.
“We have to be much more cautious with the information we release, in the event that we’re able to show others were involved, we don’t want that information released because it could create problems when it comes to potential prosecutions,” he said. “I’m not saying we’re looking at any prosecutions, I’m just saying we have to be careful with any evidence we collect in the event that it does lead to somebody or something else.”

Three weeks before the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, a Muslim man in traditional attire asked multiple questions about booking a hotel for a month and refused to leave the hotel despite learning that it was booked for the time he wanted. A hotel clerk, disturbed by his actions, asked her family to call 911. The police responded immediately, because the clerk’s sister said the man had mentioned the Islamic State (ISIS).
The clerk was fired in less than a week, and now the police may charge her, thus setting a dangerous precedent that if you point out a potential threat, you yourself will land in jail. This is not to say that the man himself was a threat, but the circumstances were suspicious and the hotel clerk has arguably been mistreated in this case, with a chilling effect on the idea that “if you see something, say something.”
The Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office in Avon, Ohio, will determine whether charges will be filed against the former hotel clerk who told her family members to call 911 to report that a Muslim man was acting suspiciously in the lobby, local news reported. The call was made last Wednesday. As of Tuesday morning, the clerk was no longer employed by Fairfield Inn & Suites at Colorado Avenue.

Here is a brief portion of the call:

Clerk: He wanted somewhere in Avon or Elyria. He wanted a month’s stay. He was leaving July 13 to the 14 around there and I tried to help him as much as possible. Everywhere said they are booked and couldn’t help him, I told him. And then he wanted to sit in our lobby. He didn’t want to leave.Officer: So you said you guys were booked?
Clerk: I said we’re booked. Everywhere he called is booked too. It’s summer. People are traveling. He had two phones. He was searching the Internet on one phone, making calls on a disposible phone. That’s really all I know. It just freaks me out because of everything going on.
Officer: He didn’t say anything else?
Clerk: No, it’s just…
Officer: Because the call we got is that someone said he was pledging his allegiance to ISIS.
Clerk: No, no, no, no, he…
Officer: Who would have said that? Who made the call?
Clerk: I told my sister–it’s my sister–her name is [redacted], she called. I said he’s dressed in a weird outfit, he has a disposable phone. I said I don’t know what to do because of everything going on…going on with ISIS. I said call the police, because we couldn’t because he kept coming up here.

While the police ordered their fellow officers to stand down, the Muslim man had already been placed in handcuffs. Identified as Ahmed Al Menhali of the United Arab Emirates, the man collapsed while in custody and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police apologized to Al Menhali after the incident. “No one from the police department (wanted) to disrespect you,” Police Chief Richard Bosley said. “It is a very regrettable circumstance that occurred for you. You should not have been put in that situation like you were.”
“There were some false accusations made against you,” said the mayor, Bryan Jensen. He then explained that a county prosecutor could take further action, such as asking a grand jury to consider criminal charges against the former clerk.
“This is the process we follow in such situations,” Jansen added. “The police investigate. The prosecutor considers everything the police have collected and decides whether to pursue charges with a grand jury.”
“If you see something, say something is great,” Bosley said. “But it has to be based on facts, not assumptions. What someone reports to the police has a dramatic impact on how police respond. You can put onlookers and our own officers in unnceseccary danger if you report untrue information.”
The clerk was frazzled, and she may have unfairly profiled the man. She should probably have waited for more evidence. But if a hotel clerk can end up in jail for reporting what she thinks is suspicious behavior, how can we stop future attacks?
Multiple people had contacted the FBI to warn them about Omar Mateen before the tragic attack on the Pulse nightclub in Orlando last month. An old friend of his, who attended the same mosque and learned that Mateen was listening to sermons of the terrorist Anwar Al-Awlaki, called the FBI to warn them. Mateen was a known quantity to the FBI, but they never prosecuted him.
Worse, neighbors of the San Bernardino shooter, Syed Rizwan Farook, told ABC that they noticed “suspicious activity” at his home before the shooting, but did not report it — for fear of being labeled racist.
One neighbor recalled police being called to the Farook household, “maybe for a domestic violence dispute.” Another, Aaron Elswick, a neighbor of Farook’s mother, said another neighbor told him “they had I guess been receiving packages — quite a few packages within a short amount of time, and they were actually doing a lot of work out in the garage.”
“She was kind of suspicious and wanted to report it,” Elswick recalled, “but she said she didn’t want to profile.”
If this hotel clerk not only gets fired but ends up in jail for reporting suspicious behavior, how many more people will be dissuaded from saying something when they see something?
The Republican National Convention will take place between July 18 and July 21 in nearby Cleveland, Ohio. If the man was truly engaged in suspicious behavior this close to the Republican convention, it would make sense to have heightened scrutiny surrounding him. In this case, the 911 call seems misplaced, but if this woman faces trial, it may chill those who observe true threats and discourage them from reporting suspicious activity.

This post was written as a response to a full page ad that appeared in my local Burlington, NC paper, The Times-News, on February 25, 2016 titled: “Appeal for Support of Alamance County’s First Mosque” (click here for a PDF of the page). This full page ad was paid for by an anonymous person and signed by several organizations, individuals, and churches. Yes Christian churches.
This “ad”, supporting the first mosque in our county, misrepresented Islam, Mosques, Christians, Christianity, and the 1st Amendment. While I’m not an expert on Islam, I have read a great deal about it. I’ve learned it’s NOT something most Americans would welcome as the dominate force in this country… and being the dominate force is where Islam seeks its equilibrium.

The “ad” in the paper mentioned the “three Abrahamic” faiths: just because you can trace the three Abrahamic faiths back to Abraham does not mean they are equal faiths, or share the same God for that matter. They are not equal. As Christians we are primarily concerned with the words and works of Jesus. Jesus was peaceful and died to save us from our sins, and not just any death, he was tortured and then nailed to a cross. Muslims are primarily concerned with the commands of Muhammad, a violent warrior who conquered by bloodshed and death.

Many Protestant denominations have been taken over by socialists and progressives. The ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) is a good example of this. In 2015, the Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Minnesota created a 61 page booklet titled “My Neighbor is a Muslim” that paints a false representation of Islam, just like the “ad” in my local paper was inaccurate. They did this to try and soften the opposition to the thousands of Somali refugees they’re bringing into that area. Jodi Harpstead, CEO of LSS makes over $300,000 a year to do this. The Muslim Imam assisting with this booklet is a supporter of the terrorist group Hamas, believes Sha’ria law should be the law in U.S. areas where Muslims are the majority, heads one of two mosques where Somali youth have left to fight for a terrorist organization, and was refused government security clearance. This is not isolated, this type of propaganda is rampantly being created and disseminated. Here is a website, Exposing the ELCA that tracks the downfall of the ELCA.
During the recent 2016 primary elections in parts of Minnesota, reporters could not report on some candidates because only Somali was spoken: Candidates Speak Only in Somali at Minnesota DFL Caucus. This is where we’re headed, and is a direct result of the above mentioned efforts by the ELCA, our government, and others to flood the USA with Muslim refugees. It’s unlikely the mosques these Muslims are attending are going to make Americans out of them, rather they will try to change America to their vision: they’re bringing their country with them.

This was denied by dodging, not answering emails or telephones, and finally the female editor / police officer said she would have to check with the association attorney; this was in November 2011. This letter was never published and I have never heard from anyone at the association.)
I am a retired Los Angeles Police Department captain. During my career, and subsequently, I was proud of the Department’s long held positions of neutrality in politics and religion, and tough on crime and criminals, notwithstanding the onslaught of the ACLU and the media to reverse those positions. I have moved on to other areas of interest such as the Bolsheviks in America and the march of Islam right behind it.
I was shocked a couple of months ago to see and hear an LAPD Deputy Chief of Police (who had served as the LAPD Interim Chief of Police in 2009) speaking as an apologist and LAPD representative for The Muslim Brotherhood and Muslim Students Association. To make matters worse, this Deputy Chief – Michael Downing – is the Commanding Officer of LAPD’s Counter-Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau. The Bureau has a 300 officer intelligence division, which includes the Anti-Terrorist Intelligence Section.

Downing’s biographical information I set out here comes from the Los Angeles Police Department website. It shows his deep involvement with Islam, and it makes his pro-Islam positions even more worrisome.
Downing has testified before Congressional subcommittees relative to intelligence, homeland security, and information sharing. In April 2010, Downing served as a member of the Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council working group on developing a national strategy for countering violent extremism.
As of May 2010, Chief Downing was elected the President of the Leadership in Counter-Terrorism (LinCT) Alumni Association. This association is working with alumni from the FBI’s LinCT Program to develop a global enterprise of networked counter-terrorism practitioners from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Downing has also worked with the Department of Justice to transition large national police organizations into democratic civilian policing models. One of those countries was Turkey.
At the time of this writing he held the position of a senior fellow at the George Washington University Homeland Security Institute and is a member of the Executive Board of the Los Angeles Joint Regional Intelligence Center.
He works closely with the Islamic Center of Southern California and testifies before Congress regarding terrorism, while consulting with Homeland Security as a George Washington fellow.
Deputy Chief Downing had a problem in 2005 concerning his involvement with a Church of Scientology related group. The group had printed booklets for school children which included writings of L. Ron Hubbard, the Scientology founder. Hollywood Area Commanding Officer (Captain at the time) Downing reportedly had LAPD officers of his command dispensing the literature in the Hollywood Area command to youth.
When the distribution and alleged letter of commendation from the LA Chief of Police signed by Downing became public (posted on a web site), Downing reportedly stated,

“We cannot endorse the Church of Scientology or any religion as the LAPD…”

Downing is quoted in a newspaper as saying the commendation and posting was fraudulent.
A high level Scientology spokesperson stated,

“Michael Downing has appeared at events for us and spoken very highly of the work we do. As far as I know, the letter was generated and sent by him and I have the original hanging on my wall here. It looks like a real signature to me. I am not aware of any public agency inquiry into the matter (which should certainly have been expected).”

I referred to the issue of Scientology, and Downing’s involvement, as a known forerunner of his activities involving LAPD and Islam. Downing stated in 2005 that LAPD could not endorse ANY religion. Few would doubt that Islam is a religion. Downing does not doubt that because he says in a video that “We” are announcing a grant to train Imams. Is “We” LAPD, or is Downing speaking for a religion, Islam?
Scientology deserves no comparison here, except for the presence of Downing.
Downing is the Muslim face of LAPD. He appears regularly with various terrorist-related Muslims and at Muslim functions such as the Islamic Center of Southern California and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC). Downing can be seen in smiling and friendly handshake photos with MPAC Executive Director Salam Al-Marayati, a supporter of Hezbollah and Hamas, and with Dr. Mustafa Al-Barghouti known as an anti-Israeli zealot.
The MPAC Executive Director has also categorized the Hezbollah terrorist attack which killed 241 US Marines, as ‘a military operation.’ Al-Marayati has made hundreds of statements which defend terrorists and their acts, and regularly utters anti-American positions.
Al-Marayati brought Al-Barghouti for a fundraising event, purportedly intended to aid Palestinian supposed medical needs. Barghouti is a leader of the Palestinian People’s Party (PPP), a Communist movement that collaborated in 2006 with the DFLP (Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine), a Marxist-Leninist terrorist organization that has carried out a number of shooting attacks against Israeli targets, including a 2001 attack on a military base in Gaza that killed three Israeli soldiers and wounded seven others.
I am sorry to say that the Los Angeles Police Department has chosen a path which can only lead to (1) a diminution of its image as a quality law enforcement agency, (2) its support for Muslims who have killed LAPD officers defending this country overseas, and (3) itself becoming a part of a serious threat to the very existence of our great country. In the past, during my time with the Department from the 1960s to the 1980s, we were able to identify the good from the bad. We worked hard to be apolitical and to avoid the agency being entangled in religious battles. We avoided even the appearance of evil. How far we have come, and how blind we have become, to have abandoned those wise positions we worked so hard to accomplish, and maintain.
I have spent a good deal of time academically and empirically over the last several years, studying the two great threats to America. The first threat is Bolshevism, on which I have published a book which sells on Amazon. I won’t name it because I don’t want this to be a commercial message. The second area of even a greater threat, ultimately, is Islamization of America. It is this issue which brings me here, including the Department going so far out-of-bounds in an effort to support the fronts for Islam.
I do not intend this to be a legal brief. It matters little which side you are on, and the evidence to offer in opposition from either side. My point is that for the Department to have a K-9 in the fight at all, makes a serious and far-reaching dangerous mistake. The point is that there is a debate of a serious nature; not so much about Islam, but the fronts for Islam in America.

#BlackLivesMatter Columnist: We Need A Military Coup If Trump Wins POTUS

The failed coup in Turkey that killed more than 200 people and wounded thousands more could be coming to America — if Donald Trump is elected and #BlackLivesMatter activist and Daily News columnist Shaun King has his way.
King tweeted this weekend that the U.S. would suffer the same fate as Turkey if the soon-to-be Republican nominee won the presidency.
“If Donald Trump becomes President, you are fooling yourself if you think we’re far from having a coup our own selves,” King tweeted. “I’m dead serious.”
This isn’t the first time King has said a President Trump could lead to violence. In a May 9 article in the Daily News, the activist stated that anarchists might vote for the billionaire because his presidency would result in a civil war.
It’s strange that a movement that claims they want to fight injustice peacefully has a spokesman who repeatedly fantasizing about civil wars and uprisings which would lead to death and destruction.
