Aircraft Wreckage Found Near Madagascar Could Be Missing Malaysia Airlines MH-370 …

Posted on July 29, 2015 by sundance

(Via CNN)—Apparent airplane debris found off the coast of Reunion island, a French department in the western Indian Ocean, is being examined to see if it is connected to the 2014 disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, a member of the French Air Force in Reunion said Wednesday.
The debris was found off the coast of St. Andre, a community on the island, according to Adjutant Christian Retournat. “It is way too soon to say whether or not it is MH370. We just found the debris this morning,” Retournat said.
He said the debris — what appears to be a wing flap — has been taken to the island, located about 380 nautical miles off the coast of Madagascar.
MH370 disappeared after taking off from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on March 8, 2014, bound for Beijing with 239 people aboard. (link)

{{ Adjusts Tin-Foil Hat }}… Given all the talks in/around Iran and their nuclear ambitions, the timing is, well, interesting.

FLASHBACK MARCH 2014 – A little more than a week after the mysterious Malaysian Flight MH370 disappearance, and the day after a report that Boeing had signal confirmation of their engines being located in Pakistan, a CIA analyst walked into the offices of the New York Times to present satellite pictures of a fake Iranian aircraft carrier.
It seemed rather odd considering there was really no value in the story beyond exposing our spy intelligence in the region.
However, against the backdrop of the missing MH-370, and considering the images came from the CIA via DigitalGlobe -the same satellite company doing the MH-370 search- some speculated it may have been a message to regional players that we have the ability to see more than they may think we have the ability to see. *nudge, nudge – wink, wink*

These small sea creatures could be key to the hunt for MH370 wreckage

Barnacles on a wing part that washed up on a remote Indian Ocean island could yield new clues to the fate of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 if it is from the plane, experts said Tuesday.

Malaysia Prime Minister: Debris Found on Reunion Island Is From Malaysia Airlines Flight 370

The plane debris that washed ashore on an island in the Indian Ocean last week was confirmed to be part of the Malaysia Airlines jet that went missing over a year ago, Malaysia's Prime Minister said, making it the first concrete evidence of the crash.

"It is with a very heavy heart that I must tell you that an international team of experts have conclusively confirmed that the aircraft debris found on Reunion Island is indeed from MH370," Mr. Najib told reporters at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur.

In a separate emailed statement, Malaysia Airlines said that the families and relatives of the 239 passengers and crew onboard Flight 370 have been informed about the findings of the experts.

Flight 370 went missing on March 8, 2014.

Hmmn .... no mention of how the "confirmation" was determined. A non buoyant airfoil finds it's way to shore but not a single seat cushion which also serve, in case of emergency according to preflight briefings by flight attendants as floatation devices, is found ... perplexing.

I read an article about the person who patrols that section of beach to keep it clean, and well, he's been burning things for months. Like, suitcases, cushions, etc, because that's his job. He had no idea that it could be from the wreck, because the story said he's just a simple man doing a simple job, and stuff like that comes ashore all the time. So he picks it up and keeps the beach clean.

This is not the story that I read, but it has a lot of great info on the discovery:

All the attention given to this mishap? Every scrap of anything washing ashore anywhere within the "ring of fire" would be closely scrutinized ... one would think, mehbe not.

The dictator of Malaysia has announced that it is confirmed as from the missing flight

I would expect debris to be found on or near Mauritius.

No reason to think the airfoil was not buoyant. As I mentioned elsewhere, it appears to be partly composite, and composits typically have void spaces making up much of their volume.

The cushions would have very different floating profiles, probably sit higher in the water, and the winds and currents would have separated them. After this length of time, there's no reason to think they'd be keeping company.

Participated in a few recoveries, baring a small number of personal affects ... all from the bottom.

Of course with so many variables there are no absolutes ... other than someone was "looking" at that airplane when it left the radar screen.
