Children Receive Military Training At Hamas Summer Camps

Approximately 30,000 Palestinian children and teenagers have signed up to attend Hamas' 25 summer camps in the Gaza Strip.
The camps run by the Izzadin al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, include military training with live fire, combat tactics, and religious indoctrination.
In an announcement marking the opening of summer camp the al-Qassam brigades declared: "The responsibility to liberate Palestine and return all the stolen rights of the people is common to all sects and groups in society, and is to be fulfilled by inculcating the culture of the struggle into every house in Palestine, as we do in the 'pioneers of liberation' summer camps."

REPORT: ISIS Has Attacked Internationally 1 Out of Every 4 Days Since June 8…

In a new report by InterCenter, Michael Weiss reports that after today’s attack in Normandy, France, the Islamic State has attacked outside of Iraq and Syria nearly every four days since June 8.
Yesterday, the Islamic State news agency Amaq News released a report about the attacks, after claiming a recent suicide bombing committed by Mohammad Daleel at a music festival in Ansbach, Germany.
Today, Amaq News released a statement regarding the murder of 84-year-old Reverend Jacques Hamel at Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray during Mass by two Islamic State sympathizers.
The BBC reports that armed men entered the church and took the reverend and four other people hostage. The hostage takers were later killed in a standoff with police.
It was later confirmed to be a beheading.

NBC News has obtained a “heat map” of ISIS expansion around the world dated August 2016. The map, which was prepared by the National Counterterrorism Center, shows the group is now operating in three times as many countries as it was two years ago:
U.S. State Department documents indicated that in 2014, when the U.S. military began its campaign to destroy the extremists, there were only seven nations in which the fledgling state was operating…
The current briefing map shows 18 countries where ISIS is fully operational. The map also displays a new category — “aspiring branches” — and lists six countries where they’re taking root: Egypt, Indonesia, Mali, the Philippines, Somalia and Bangladesh.

Muslims from UK and Canada arrested over Bangladesh cafe jihad massacre

Dhaka (AFP) – A British national and a student at a Canadian university who were dining at a Bangladeshi cafe when it was besieged by jihadists last month have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the attack.
Police said Hasnat Karim, a British citizen of Bangladesh origin, and Tahmid Khan, a University of Toronto student, were arrested late Wednesday in connection with last month’s siege in Dhaka when 20 hostages were murdered.
“We can confirm they were arrested under Section 54 of CrPC (criminal procedure),” police spokesman A.K.M Shahidur Rahman told AFP on Thursday, referring to a law under which police can detain someone on suspicion of any crime.
A court later remanded both men in custody for eight days, deputy commissioner of Dhaka police Aminur Rahman told AFP.
Karim and Khan were both inside the Holey Artisan Bakery when gunmen raided the cafe on the night of July 1, taking a group of mainly Western diners hostage and then killing 20 of them, along with two policemen.
But neither have been seen in public since the end of the siege when commandos stormed the cafe in the capital’s upmarket Gulshan neighbourhood on the morning of July 2.
The men’s families have said they were being held by security forces even though there was no evidence to link them to the attackers.
Police had denied the men were in their custody before announcing the arrest on Thursday.
– ‘My son is innocent’ –
Speaking to AFP after news of the arrest, Karim’s father said his son had been used as a human shield during the siege and that he had helped save lives during the siege.
“I have full confidence in the police investigation,” said Rezaul Karim.
“My son was a hero. He saved the life of at least eight people during the siege. I know him. He is innocent.”
Karim’s London-based lawyer, Rodney Dixon, said his client had “no links to any terrorist group” and demanded his immediate release.
“The authorities have finally admitted that Mr. Karim is in their custody. They have had more than sufficient time to make any inquiries,” Dixon said in a statement.
“There is clearly no evidence to charge him and he should be let go without any further delay.”
Relatives say Karim, his wife and two children were at the cafe to celebrate the 13th birthday of their daughter.
Reports in local media said both men were being investigated for suspicious activity during the siege. They said Khan was seen holding a firearm and Hasnat Karim strolling with the attackers on the roof.
On Tuesday, national police chief. A.K.M. Shahidul Hoque, told reporters that the two had fallen under suspicion as a result of their “behaviour and actions” during the siege….

The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, however, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did). Verse 190 thus means to fight those who offer resistance to Allah’s rule (ie. Muslim conquest). The use of the word “persecution” by some Muslim translators is disingenuous (the actual Arabic words for persecution – “idtihad” – and oppression – a variation of “z-l-m” – do not appear in the verse). The word used instead, “fitna”, can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. This is certainly what is meant in this context since the violence is explicitly commissioned “until religion is for Allah” – ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief. Quran (2:244) – “Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things.” Quran (2:216) – “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.” Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time. From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding merchant caravans for loot. More here.
