“Quebec is a land of Allah. Convert or else.”

September 6, 2015 7:02 am By Robert Spencer 8 Comments
Could be an attempt to “strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah” (Qur’an 8:60).

“Quebec – Police Investigate Pro-Islamic State Propaganda,” a translation of “Des autocollants montrant l’État islamique à Repentigny : la police enquête,” by Hadi Hassin, Le Huffington Post Québec, September 5, 2015, via Blazing Cat Fur:
The Repentigny police are investigating a case of public mischief after hate stickers were placed on cars of Valmont street and in the parking lot of a shopping center.
According to Bruno Marier, spokesman for the Repentigny police, nearly a hundred of stickers have been introduced on cars in the last twenty-four hours including the Valmont Street near a Tim Hortons and a Jean Coutu store. Cars parked near the Galeries Rive Nord were also targeted by vandals.
The stickers show what appears to be a picture of a gunman waving the flag of the Islamic State terrorist group.
“Quebec is a land of Allah. Convert or else … ” it reads
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
“As a general rule, the earlier you recognize someone is trying to kill you, the better off you’ll be.”

Canada teen jihadi: “I understand Islam better than you”

September 9, 2015 9:41 pm By Robert Spencer 22 Comments
“‘I understand Islam better than you,’ he told Soussi, citing as his source the father of Wahhabism, an austere form of Islam that interprets the Koran literally.” Soussi told him: “It’s not reading two articles and watching some videos on the Internet that makes you such a Muslim. You’re 15 years old. People spend 30 years studying religion before they will sit down and be able to say, this is good, this is bad.” So Muslims can’t make value judgments until they have studied Islam for thirty years?
This article assumes that the teen’s understanding of Islam was wrongly literalistic, faulty, ill-informed and eccentric. But the ideas that a non-Muslim country is part of the House of War and that the goods of non-Muslims belong to Muslims as the spoils of war are deeply embedded within Islamic tradition. Soussi might have argued that Canada should not be warred against because it isn’t hindering Muslims’ ability to practice Islam, but he couldn’t very well argue that the claims the teen made about Islam were inaccurate and un-Islamic. This National Post piece is misleading on that score, but that may be simply because its author thought it inconceivable that the teen could be right or even partially right.
    Brahim Soussi

“‘I understand Islam better than you’: Teen facing terror charges saw Canada as ‘land of war,’” by Graeme Hamilton, National Post, September 9, 2015:
MONTREAL — RCMP investigator Brahim Soussi did his best to persuade the 15-year-old suspect sitting across from him that they were not all that different. They were both Muslim immigrants from North Africa, eldest sons and Arabic speakers, he noted.
The boy, who had just been arrested for a convenience store armed robbery and was suspected of planning to leave Canada to join the jihad in Syria, was having none of it.
“You are a traitor,” the teen, who cannot be identified because he is a minor, told Soussi. He said that by working for the Canadian state, the police officer was complicit in “crimes against Muslims. … You betray your brothers. You are no longer their brother. You are an apostate.”
Over the course of the two-hour interview, a video of which was introduced as evidence at the teen’s trial in a Montreal court on Wednesday, he remained silent on most questions touching the robbery. But he could not resist spouting off when Soussi questioned his religious knowledge.
“I understand Islam better than you,” he told Soussi, citing as his source the father of Wahhabism, an austere form of Islam that interprets the Koran literally.
The boy, who turned 16 this year, elaborated on his beliefs, which he said he had gleaned from the Internet. The police officer was not a true Muslim because he worked to enforce laws other than Allah’s, he said.
He accused Canada of “massacring his brothers and sisters” by taking part in the armed mission against ISIL in Iraq. The government sent its troops, and in a democracy the government is elected by the people, he said. “So the people are at fault. Oh, yes.” Democratic governments must be removed, “by force if necessary,” he said.
The convenience store that had been robbed at knifepoint was a legitimate target because Canada was “a land of war” fighting against Islam, he said. The goods of unbelievers, he added, can be seized as the “spoils of war.” He said he felt no remorse for his actions.
The teen pleaded guilty to the holdup last year. He is on trial in Quebec Court’s youth division on one charge of committing a crime “for the benefit of, at the direction of or in association with a terrorist group” and a second charge of attempting to leave Canada for the purpose of aiding a terrorist group.
The trial heard that it was his father who alerted police after he discovered his son’s backpack hidden in their yard, containing a knife, a bag of cash and a scarf. RCMP agent Salvador Calderon testified that he met with the father soon afterwards. “He was very nervous because he had confronted his son, and his son wanted to leave the country to fight with a terrorist group,” Calderon said. He said he assured the father the RCMP would do everything possible to stop his son from getting on a plane.
Days later, the boy was arrested at the prestigious Montreal private school he attended.
During his interrogation, he said his parents had told him to disobey God and that his father was an apostate. He said his religious beliefs led him to give up karate and drop a Mandarin class at school because the teachers required that he bow. “You must not bow down before anyone other than Allah,” he said.
Soussi repeatedly tried to persuade the boy that things were not so black and white. For example, bowing in karate is an act of respect, not submission, he told him.
“It’s not reading two articles and watching some videos on the Internet that makes you such a Muslim,” he said. “You’re 15 years old. People spend 30 years studying religion before they will sit down and be able to say, this is good, this is bad.”…
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
“As a general rule, the earlier you recognize someone is trying to kill you, the better off you’ll be.”

Syrian refugee crisis will function as yet another weapon in the hands of Canada’s politically correct, pro-immigration contingent

Manufacturing Responsibility: Canada And The Syrian Refugee Crisis

While responsibility for the Syrian refugee crisis is a complex international issue, the subject of Canada’s responsibility for the crisis is straight-forward — our nation is not responsible.
There is, however, little doubt that many within our society are at odds with this statement. Canada is by and large a compassionate country, and it is therefore reasonable to expect Canadians to support a substantial intake of those affected by the war in Syria.

What is less reasonable, however, is the current perception that Canada is somehow responsible for the crisis— or if not directly responsible, at least culpable by way of a modest refugee intake quota. In particular, it should be expected that our politically correct, pro-multicultural contingents would adhere to this belief system. A prime example among these minions is No One Is Illegal, an organization which espouses the idea that Canada should be an “open border” nation, whereby anyone can enter our country— thus rendering the concept of citizenship meaningless. Minister of Multiculturalism Jason Kenney, commenting on the organization and its leader Harsh Walia, recently referred to the group as “Trotsky-ite.” Clearly, he is not a fan.
As it happens, the aunt of the young refugee child who tragically perished as a result of the conflict resides in Canada. Quoted in dozens of Canadian publications was her statement that “the world is responsible.” While her grief is understandable, and may have resulted in a statement based on pure emotion, international responsibility for the crisis is a controversial and provocative topic. No, the world is not responsible, and neither is Canada. Blaming our government, our Prime Minister, or our citizens is misguided. When assigning blame, it should be directed toward the perpetrators of the crisis— the nation of Syria, its President and most of all, Islamic State, or ISIS, as it is commonly known.
Special: New Probiotic Fat Burner Takes GNC by Storm
Simply put, the refugee debacle is a Middle Eastern problem— therefore it should be dealt with first and foremost by Middle Eastern nations. On this topic, it is most interesting to note the various responses from these nations. How many refugees have the Gulf States taken in? In fact, so-called “brethren nations” of Syria—Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Quatar and others have not accepted a single refugee. What gives? Why aren’t these oil rich, co-religionist nations helping their suffering brothers-in-arms?

The main reason is— they do not have to. It turns out that none of the Gulf Nations signed a document called the “1951 U.N. Refugee Convention”— therefore they are exempt from accepting refugees into their nations. How fortunate for them.
How have Canadians responded to the fact that neighbouring Islamic nations are refusing to accept these poor souls? The answer is— they haven’t responded at all— because they have no knowledge of this essential component of the equation. Reason being, our mainstream media sources have yet to reveal these facts. What has been revealed, however, is a plethora of commentary criticizing and condemning our country, Prime Minister Harper, and Minister of Immigration Chris Alexander, implying these entities are somehow responsible for the death of the young refugee child.
What about the reaction from other neighbouring Islamic nations— for example, Iran? President Hassan Rouhani of Iran is very concerned— so concerned that he says European countries have a “humanitarian and historic duty” to take in the refugees!
Special: 68 Year Old Looks 31: You Will Not Believe Her Simple Trick
In light of the questionable reaction from Middle Eastern nations, several thought provoking questions are in order. Are western nations being hoodwinked by militant Islam? Is this situation, in fact, a strategy to disseminate followers of Islam throughout the democratic, and mainly Christian, nations of the world? Considering the extremity of militant Islamic ideology, this idea is not of out the question.
In the meantime, all skepticism within our nation has been washed away by a political tide of altruism for those lost in the whirl of the crisis. While admirable in many respects, it is arguable an element of manipulation exists on the part of those indulging in the “blame game”- organizations such as No One Is Illegal, and others such as Ontario-based Lifeline Syria.
With a federal election on the horizon, it is fair to suggest that political party opposition leaders and immigration critics are pushing the compassion button in order to secure votes—in particular, the votes within Canada’s twenty six ridings which are today majority “ethnic” communities. Such is the increasing relevance and power of the ethic vote within our country.
Can it be argued that Canadians are taking a superficial, or overly simplistic view of the refugee crisis? If so, it is not their fault. As with all issues related to immigration policy, there is more to the story than meets the eye. At present, what the eyes of Canadians are witnessing is far from a complete picture. The fact is, political correctness, candidate posturing and vote-pandering are playing a pivotal role in the general perception of the refugee crisis.
Special: Two Steps to Tightening Skin and Removing Eye Bags Overnight
The refugee situation may well impact the entire world, however this does not mean the entire world is responsible. Until this is properly understood by the Canadian public, the Syrian refugee crisis will function as yet another weapon in the hands of Canada’s politically correct, pro-immigration contingent.

Canada announces money for Syrian refugees, but not taking more in

    Published September 12, 2015

Sept.11, 2015: Conservative Leader Stephen Harper speaks to supporters during a campaign stop in Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada. On Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, Harper's government announced that Canada will provide $100 million in additional humanitarian assistance for Syrian refugee camps. (Adrian Wyld/The Canadian Press via AP)

TORONTO – Canada's Conservative government has so far declined to resettle more Syrian refugees despite the haunting image of a drowned 3-year-old washed up on a Turkish beach that focused the world's attention on the largest migrant crisis since World War II.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper's government announced Saturday that Canada will provide $100 million in additional humanitarian assistance for Syrian refugee camps but made no announcement to resettle more refugees in Canada. A number of countries have announced they'll take in thousands of more Syrian refugees since the picture of the dead toddler pierced people's consciousness two weeks ago.
Canada's government has endured sharp criticism for taking in just 2,500 refugees since Jan. 2014. More than 4 million Syrians have fled their country since the conflict began in 2011. The Harper government announced in January it would accept 10,000 over three years and promised in early August to accept an additional 10,000 over four years.
Former Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chretien called it a "cold-hearted reaction" to the Syrian crisis that has "shamed Canada in the eyes of Canadians and of the international community."
"German Chancellor Angela Merkel has stepped up to the plate, and the world looks upon the generosity of her country with admiration. The same goes for Norway, Sweden and Finland, which have welcomed refugees and do not erect roadblocks to taking them in. Instead they get rid of roadblocks. But not Mr. Harper," Chretien said in an open letter to several newspapers.
"In my travels around the globe, I am regularly asked: What has happened to Canada? What has happened to the advanced, peace-seeking, progressive country Canada once was?"

Canada has long prided itself for opening its doors wider than any nation to asylum seekers, but the number it welcomes has waned since Harper took power almost 10 years ago.
In times of crisis in decades past, Canada resettled refugees quickly and in large numbers. It airlifted more than 5,000 people from Kosovo in the late 1990s, more than 5,000 from Uganda in 1972 and resettled 60,000 Vietnamese in 1979-80. More than 1.2 million refugees have arrived in Canada since World War II.
But the number of refugees has declined since Harper became prime minister in 2006. In 2005, Canada received 35,775 refugees. Canada welcomed 23,286 last year. According to the United Nations, Canada has dropped from the fifth-highest refugee-receiving country in 2000 to 15th last year.
Asked if no additional Syrian refugees would be resettled in Canada a senior Harper aide said "other options are still being considered, but I am not sure on timing." The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.
Harper, who faces re-election Oct. 19, has emphasized Canada's military mission against Islamic State group and the importance of screening refugee claimants in recent weeks.
Opposition Liberal leader Justin Trudeau has said Canada should take in 25,000 Syrian refugees immediately while New Democrat opposition leader Tom Mulcair said they'll take in 10,000 more before the end of the year.
Polls and analysts call the election a three-way toss-up. According to the CTV/Globe and Mail/Nanos Nightly Tracking Poll the Liberals are at 32 percent while the Conservatives are at 31 percent and the New Democrats at 30 percent. The margin of error for the survey of 1,200 respondents is 2.8 percent.
The Conservatives' one-year high was 33 percent on May 22. They fell to 26 percent earlier this week.
Nelson Wiseman, a political science professor at the University of Toronto, believes media in Canada are underestimating the opposition to more Muslim immigrants.
"Support for the Conservatives has not shrunk in the past few days. Indeed, it is inching up," Wiseman said.

US needs to take 100,000 Syrian refugees – House Democrats to Obama

House Democrats are calling on the Obama administration to dramatically increase the number of Syrian refugees allowed into the US. The White House has already pledged to let in 10,000 refugees over the next year, but that is being called insufficient.
It is our moral duty, as a nation founded on the principles of equality and freedom, to do what we can to assist our brethren who are in desperate turmoil, and are searching for the slightest gesture of goodwill,” wrote 72 Democrats from the US House of Representatives in a letter to the administration on Friday, according to the Hill.
Lawmakers said the country could easily support the resettlement of as many as 130,000 Syrian refugees, a figure 10 times that proposed by the White House earlier this week.
The letter was spearheaded by Representative David Cicilline (D-Rhode Island).
The United States is home to 320 million people,” lawmakers wrote. “Allowing an additional 130,000 refugees into our country would make up less than a quarter of one percent of our population.”

    Texas leads the way

The White House announced Thursday it would take in as many as 10,000 Syrian refugees next year in the wake of growing concern in Europe over the flood of migrants fleeing the Middle East.
Since the Syrian Civil War began in March 2011, 1,584 refugees have been relocated in the U.S., the majority of whom have moved to Texas (180), California (171), Michigan (159), Illinois (132), Arizona (107) and Florida (97). Thirty other states have absorbed the rest, according to numbers compiled by the State Department.

“There’s Just No Cash” Oil Price Increase Will Not Come Fast Enough to Save Alberta
“There’s just no cash.” That’s the Coles Notes from a senior banker describing the book of oil service loans he manages for one of Alberta’s leading lenders. There’s simply not enough cash flow to support current levels of debt.
Bankers and borrowers have kicked the can down the road about as far as they can as more oilfield service (OFS) and exploration and production (E&P) companies default on their loans and seek more relief on lending covenants. While a significant oil price increase to lift all the sinking boats will surely come, it won’t happen soon enough. More of the same won’t work.
Oil industry debt is everyday news. But the discussion is about the symptoms, not the ailment.
Companies cannot borrow their way out of debt. Equity capital is only available at distressed valuations. Specialized OFS assets will fetch only a fraction of replacement cost—if somebody actually wants them. Although oil and gas reserve valuations are down by half, borrowers are being forced to sell them anyway to repair balance sheets. The last four months of 2015 will be very difficult for any company with meaningful amounts of debt. Same for their lenders, the other signatories to the loan agreement.
As the banker said, “There’s just no cash.” Here’s what it means.

If this had been a thread about the effect of falling oil prices, or even the headline chocked news about our ongoing national election, then, it would have been in line with reality. But it wasn't. It was just another sensationalist hyperbolic moooslim thread. One of way too many. Check your "read count" on these Lenno - no one cares. Time to switch up your game and get innovative. The same 'ole same 'ole just ain't resonating anymore (except perhaps in your own very scary, narrow world).

I read Lenno' s Muslim articles. I find them quit interesting.

Montreal: Muslim teens charged with possessing explosives, facilitating terror act “for the profit of a terrorist organization”

September 15, 2015 2:59 pm By Robert Spencer 14 Comments
Here again we see the mystery on full display: it is very, very easy for Western non-Muslim political leaders, church officials, law enforcement authorities and the like to see that Islam is a religion of peace that rejects violence. It is much, much harder for an increasing number of young Muslims to see this. Maybe John Kerry, Joe Biden and the U.S. Catholic bishops could start going into mosques to lead seminars explaining to Muslims how to understand their religion properly.

In the animal husbandry industry the gent on the right would be refereed to as a cull.

“Sabrine Djaermane and El Mahdi Jamali make court appearance,” by Steve Rukavina, CBC News, September 15, 2015:
Two Montreal teenagers facing terrorism-related charges appeared in court Wednesday to finalize plans for their preliminary hearing.
Sabrine Djaermane, 19, and El Mahdi Jamali, 18, are facing several charges including attempting to leave Canada to commit a terrorist act abroad, possession of an explosive substance, facilitating a terrorist act and committing an act under the direction of or for the profit of a terrorist organization.
Prosecutor Lyne Décarie told Quebec Court Judge Hélène Morin that she expects 17 witnesses to testify at the preliminary hearing.
Djaermane and Jamali sat side by side at the prisoners box at the hearing. Jamali was in handcuffs and leg restraints. At one point, Jamali smiled and waved at a female relative in the courtroom.
The two College Maisonneuve students, who are romantically linked, were arrested in April. They will remain in custody pending trial…
