Canada: Military thrown out of barracks to make room for Syrian refugees

Posted by Ann Corcoran on November 24, 2015
The new hard Left Canadian government is hell-bent on bringing in 25,000 Syrians in a little over a month. Apparently unable to find housing for them, they will be housed in military barracks across Canada.
    From CTV News:
Canadian military moving out of barracks so Syrians can move in!

Soldiers and military personnel at a Kingston, Ont. base are being asked to clear their barracks to make room for an early wave of Syrian refugees arriving in just over a week, CTV News has learned.
Multiple residences at CFB Kingston are being cleared for Nov. 30 to house the refugees, according to an internal memo obtained by CTV News.
The orders will also affect some officer cadets attending the Royal Military College, many of whom are nearing exams.
Where will the military be resettled? CTV News continues….
A true Red Diaper Doper Baby, even has a commie logo
    When boys run countries….

And while the memo warns of the fast-approaching deadline, it does not indicate where military personnel will be resettled.
However, it does say a place will be found for the personnel.
The notice comes just two days after Minister of Immigration and Refugees John McCallum reaffirmed the government’s plan to resettle 25,000 Syrian refugees by the end of 2015.
There is more, read it all! The story mentions “health” concerns, so it appears they are a little worried about containing some potentially contagious diseases. Lucky Canadian citizens!
Note in the story that the UN is picking their refugees, so the vast majority will be Sunni Muslims.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.

Comment: Canada is embracing gay Muslims

Ramadan involves fasting for 30 days, as instructed in the Quran (Photo: Troy Jackson) Journalist Barry Dennison explores how a group of gay Muslims practice their faith during Ramadan in Canada.

After seeing numerous internet pictures of gay men being hung by the neck in Iran, it raised questions: How is Islam practiced in western society? Does the Canadian Government truly give everyone equal opportunity to believe as they choose?

Yet it appears the first breach of human rights law doesn’t come from government, instead Mosques refuse to accept homosexuals, as well as deny women the right to pray beside men.
This is an “accepted” discrimination (transferred from other countries) that won’t change for the majority of believers of Islam in Canada, Britain, Australia and the US.
So, I was heartened to learn of a Canadian gay Muslim who organised a group called, “Salaam” that hosts a “Jum’ah” (noon prayers) and an Itfar (a community gathering in the evening) during Ramadan, and who welcomed others in to observe their services.
As a journalist, I wanted to go see for myself why this religion was so important to those who have faced such discrimination.

My first question upon meeting immigration lawyer, El Farouk Khaki, was to ask: “Why does this religion mean so much to you after being viciously shunned by Mosques?”

Mr Khaki’s viewpoint saw passed this ill-treatment from others and explained the single most important thing is to have “… a relationship with Allah, one that will be defined by me and Allah. Not by other men.”
Ramadan involves fasting for 30 days, as instructed in the Quran, the Muslim holy book. The purpose of fasting is reportedly “to learn what poor people experience” and believers are encouraged to help disadvantaged people in their own communities.
As I discover, an Iftar can be a small intimate gathering of around 2-4 in a home, a park or larger community gatherings as this one in a Toronto community centre, “The 519” (gay Toronto’s ‘command central’ to various gay/lesbian social groups).
The estimated 250 attendees was comprised of other non-Muslim people as politicians and journalists, Arab and South Asian youth groups, NGO staff who help refugees settle, to lobbyists who travel to refugee camps helping gays immigrate to safety. Others were Canadian and American women groups, even a gay Iman from Washington DC.
The gathering was timed for just before the sun sets, prayers started for a short time, then attendees are served with “dates” as this fruit is the first item a Muslim eats when ending a fast.
Calling their prayer meeting to order with a large voiced guttural sound that one might expect from an Aboriginal tribal ritual or as in this Arab custom, an “Adhan” … I knew this was going to be something different from my Christian background.
This Muslim service is uniquely Arabic and old world in its own right, as the ceremony involved the group bowing in unison from a stand up, then from a kneeling position, whilst a member of a group says prayers aloud, reportedly quotes from the Quran in Arabic.
Watching this group of people, I felt honoured to witness gay men and women kneeling to pray together. I sensed their dignity as well as a tremendous respect for the rituals they learned in earlier years from family and home countries.
As the evening’s Itfar progressed, a representative from Canada’s first peoples, Aboriginal/Native Indian and a member from the Sikh religion were invited to speak. Also among this group of Muslims was a man wearing a “yarmulke”, the small cloth skull-caps Jewish men wear.
“We are reaching out to others.” explained El-Farouk Khaki, who added: “We all believe in the same one God.”
Wow, Jews and Muslims praying together! Surprise!
Soon each of the 30 tables were invited one by one to line up for a meal catered by a women of East African decent.
Waiting for my table’s turn to go get some food, I chatted with a refugee from Iran – a country where families offer up their own children (seen to be gay/effeminate) to the government for death by hanging. Alternatively, gay men in Iran are forced to have gender confirmation treatment, as young as 16-years-old.
“Iran is a great place for strong men, not for small frail people like me. I have been in Canada for 6 weeks, arriving only with a citizenship from a refugee camp in Turkey.”, said the refugee, proudly showing me his new Canadian passport.
Speaking of his experience in a Turkish refugee camp, he said: “Many other refugees went to Finland and Norway. But I was happy the United Nations Refugee Agency chose Canada for me because there is so much tension in Europe between Muslims and westerners.”

This man’s commentary over the course of the evening was priceless to my limited experience at Iftars.

As tables of anxious hungry people were called to line up for this delicious food we could smell wafting in the air, hearing this new fellow Canadian’s experience made me happy to learn the Canadian Government is willing to help “accused homosexuals” in countries as Uganda, Iraq, Iran where killing homosexuals is a cruel sport.
Learning that Canada will reportedly help gay Muslims reach freedom from oppressive regimes is awesome, especially complete with citizenship, short-term accommodation, $2,500 for living expenses, with time to learn English and get a job.
This makes me proud of Canada. Yes dammit’, this liberal is gratefully conceding that Prime Minister Steven Harper and his Immigration Minister, John Baird, has shown compassion for fellow human beings, including homosexuals.
Not something anyone expected from a Conservative Government, but certainly welcomed.
With more prayers after dinner, the service was led by a female, Dr Amina Wadud of California, concluded: “My work has always been on gender issues. It was only a couple of years ago did I pray to find it in myself to love and accept those with a different sexual orientation and gender identity.”
“Now I do so with an open heart.”
Soon lemon marangue desserts and coffee arrived which was as tasty as your Grandma used to make at our own church’s turkey suppers! Local entertainers, dancers and singers presented their talent and supported with cheers from the crowd.
All in all, I came away from this Muslim event thinking well of my fellow (wo)man and my country, calm in the knowledge that there are Muslims here who do exercise their “right to assembly” to carry on with the religious ceremonies they value, and to share the lessons of their religion with like-minded people.
Clearly, these Muslim folks just want to live peacefully, with the simple message for us all to have an open mind and heart – to stop treating each other as “the other”.
Now, that is one one bottom line we all can agree on as humans no matter where we call ‘home’!

Today a group of leftists under various totems gathered to insist on carbon taxes and to protest global warming. The entire presentation was an appeal to emotion and there was not a scientist among them, nor was there an argument made about facts or predictions. There were however, some very funny things said. One speaker invented "the right to be cold". Seriously. She said that. Thank you Victor Laszlo for getting this footage and blog.xanthippa for talking to the participants.

Syrian refugee coordinator in Montreal to make $1,800 a day to welcome the newcomers to Canada

Texas threatens to sue aid groups that help Syrian refugees

© John Kenney/Postmedia News Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre speaks to media outside an ongoing Montreal city council meeting on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015. Michel Dorais was one of Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre’s top employees when he served as immigration minister. Now, he’ll head up the efforts to welcome thousands of Syrian refugees, at a rate of $1,800 per day.
Dorais, deputy minister of immigration and citizenship from 1998 to 2004, was appointed to be the city’s official co-ordinator for the effort to welcome Syrian refugees Wednesday. The appointment was made during the closed-door portion of the executive committee meeting, but the details of the hiring were made public to councillors shortly afterwards.
Coderre served as immigration minister as part of the Liberal government from 2002 to 2003.
The city will pay Dorais up to $110,000 over a three-month period. His appointment and his salary was approved by the executive committee on Wednesday, even though the appointment is retroactive to Nov. 19. The salary was justified partly because it includes vacation pay and a compensation for not being part of the city’s pension plan.
Guillaume Lavoie, the finance critic for opposition Projet Montréal, said the hiring shows a lack of transparency, and he questioned why Dorais has to be paid such a high salary.
“We need to do things in the right order,” Lavoie said. “First, (Coderre) should have described the challenges that the city was facing, and then explain why he needs outside council.
Lavoie said the appointment shows that Coderre does not have confidence in the thousands of employees currently working for the city.
We have thousands of very qualified employees at city hall. The idea that not one of them could do the job is ridiculous
“We have thousands of very qualified employees at city hall. The idea that not one of them could do the job is ridiculous,” Lavoie said.
“While no one can question the expertise of Mr. Dorais, it’s very hard to tell the public that there was no one who could have done the job.”
Dorais has been hired for three months of work, heading up the efforts to bring in Syrian refugees to the city. Thousands are expected to begin coming to the city starting in the next few weeks.
They’ll need access to clothing, health care and lodging, as well as schooling for children. Catherine Maurice, a spokesperson for Coderre, said in the next three months the work to welcome the refugees will be intense.
She said Dorais has extensive expertise working with refugees and is the best person for the job.
“He acted to welcome hundreds of Kosovar refugees when he was deputy minister; we could not have found someone with better expertise,” Maurice said.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.

Canada Awaits a Pair of Impending Catastrophes

Canada Awaits a Pair of Impending Catastrophes

There are two countries that I once regarded as home: Canada, where I have spent most of my life, and Greece, where I lived for five years. Both are now lost to me. Governed by a leftist administration and effectively submitting to the adhan—the call of the muezzin—each is now under siege.
Greece has become a way-station for a vast press of Muslim refugees sowing disorder and mayhem in their wake. Fishermen on the island of Lesbos, which I know well, have seen their livelihoods disrupted, and are unable to navigate through the filth and garbage littering their shores. Elsewhere the migrants reward their hosts by going on rampages. A graphic video shows what lies in wait for this once anti-Islamic country, which endured over 400 years of Ottoman oppression. As one Greek respondent says, “We are under occupation.”
As for Canada, the future augurs poorly. Under the partisan and incompetent administration of Justin Trudeau—like Barack Obama the most unqualified and dangerous person ever to occupy his nation’s highest office—we are witnessing the importation of a veritable Muslim army that will ultimately change the face of the country beyond recognition. Trudeau, who has ended Canada’s military contribution to the war against ISIS and vowed to weaken anti-terrorist Bill C-51, is opening the gates with intemperate haste to 25,000 Muslim refugees, aka “Syrians,” a number proportionately equivalent, as author Howard Rotberg points out, to 225,000 Muslims flooding in short order into the U.S. CTV News reports that up to 900 Syrians a day are set to land in Montreal and Toronto, starting December 1.
A part of the first wave of these intruders will be housed in Kingston, Ontario, only 20 miles from the small town where my wife and I recently settled. Military personnel at the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) and Royal Military College in Kingston are being displaced to make room within days for 600 of these new arrivals. Such evictions are becoming common practice around the country. I have just heard from a correspondent who lives in the Gulf Islands region that military personnel plus their families are having to move out of their lodgings at CFB Comox on Vancouver Island to make way for the refugees. “No matter,” as Daniel Greenfield has commented, “soldiers aren't important. Muslim victims are.”
America, as we know, has been under siege for some time, in ways that dwarf our own problems in Canada: a porous southern border swarming with illegals who now number in the millions, and a growing and restive Muslim community that has brought Mogadishu into parts of the country. Barack Obama has only exacerbated the coming disaster, bringing it closer to its malign fruition, with his open-border advocacy for multitudes of Muslim interlopers, whom he now compares to “pilgrims” on the Mayflower. Justin Trudeau is cut from the same cloth. With his penchant for mosque-hopping and his love-in with the Islamic community, he may well concur with Obama that the muezzin’s call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on earth at sunset.”
It should be clear by this time that we are letting ourselves in for two impending catastrophic eventualities.
First, an upsurge in jihadist violence, as in France, Greece, the Scandinavian countries, Macedonia, Hungary, Germany (German federal police chief Hans-Georg Maasen estimates that among the migrants there are approximately 8000 Islamic radicals planning combat missions), and other nations that have succumbed to the siren call of compassion or a false solution to offset declining birth rates. This is to be expected of Western Europeans who, as Michael Walsh writes, “have been softened up by years of cultural relativism, soft-core socialism and the American willingness to shield them from the consequences of their moral, social, and military weakness.” That game is just about over for them—the same game that we in Canada are now playing in earnest.
Second, apart from the imminent threat of violence, there is also the delayed effect of cultural expropriation, the attenuated jihadism of values-encroachment in which an alien and retrograde view of the world impacts a modern host society. It is characterized by a mindset hostile to the history, moral codes, legal instruments, technological innovation and intellectual vitality of Western civilization, gradually infiltrating and changing all we have taken for granted into an accommodationist parody of itself. In this latter case, the damage is even greater than most terrorist atrocities, and likely irreversible.
There is yet another factor that further complicates the issue. According to the World Health Organization, Europe is experiencing an alarming rise in infectious diseases, including HIV, associated with the migrant efflux on the continent. The WHO director absurdly blames the high rate of HIV infection—an increase of 33 percent—on the “social exclusion” migrants ostensibly suffer and recommends providing them with free medical treatment, obviously at great expense to the taxpayer. But Carol Brown at American Thinker provides the real solution: “do not let these people in.”
Too late, it seems. Anyone who doubts that the enemy is now firmly embedded within our gates has not been paying attention. I refer not only to the denizens of a civilization incompatible with and antithetical to the patrimony of the West, but to our own complicit governments, educators and opinion leaders intent on committing national and civilizational suicide. I sometimes wonder if the time has not come for the military to step up, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk fashion, and refuse to obey the destructive commands of our civilian governments.
I do not say this lightly. I vividly recall my experience as a young man living in Greece during the reign of the military junta: being fired from my ESL job in Crete for making seditious statements, shadowed by the Asfalia (Security force), and awakening every morning to a police officer stationed by the chestnut tree in the courtyard to keep an eye on my movements, finding myself threatened with prison and the dreaded bastinado, facing down a tank in the streets of Piraeus, and finally having to take asylum in the Canadian embassy in Athens. It wasn’t a picnic, to say the least.
Times change, and the threat we are now confronting is posed not by a military putsch but by the soft fascism of our current socialist administrations and a military marching in lockstep with its ideological overlords whose deceptive rhetoric and destabilizing policies will cost us all dearly. Our generals, very much like our university administrators and media apparatchiks, have become political sutlers fearful for their reputations and protective not of the country but of their cushy billets. Some are cowards. Some are ignorant. Some are corrupt. But they all have one thing in common: they are what the French call vendus, they have sold out the country, and they have done so, regrettably, with a majority electoral accomplice.
The issue for me has become immediate, close-range and intimately personal. My wife and I have already had several unpleasant encounters with Muslim supremacists in the area, some of which I recounted in an article for this site titled "The New Colonizers." There have been more. And as we are practically next door to Kingston, I am now speculating whether the abandoned school building and curtilage just up the street will be converted into an affordable housing complex for sixty to eighty “Syrians.” This will transform ordinary life in our quiet neighborhood in ways we can scarcely imagine—unless we have been following the reports of the devastation being wrought in European towns and cities by the incoming hordes. Even the mainstream media have not been able to suppress the horror stories coming out of Europe.
Perhaps we should not complain. After all, our situation is appreciably better than in Germany where, as the Gatestone Institute reports and the leader of the Free Democratic Party [FDP] Sebastian Czaja has warned, a proposal was tabled in the Berlin Senate to enact “emergency legislation that would allow local authorities to seize private residences to accommodate asylum seekers. The proposal—which would effectively suspend Germany's constitutional guarantee of private property—would authorize police forcibly to enter private homes and apartments without a warrant to determine their suitability as housing for refugees and migrants.” That such a proposal has not yet been considered here offers rather cold comfort. Eventually, we too will have our no-go zones and some of us will learn first-hand the meaning of Koranic sura 4:89.
I don’t know if I will ever revisit Greece, whose language, culture and people have long appealed to me, but I do know that I no longer feel at home in my own country. Indeed, it is hard to feel at one with a people that has voted a bare-chesting juvenile into power and “opened its heart” to a migratory invasion from backward and violence-prone cultures whose basic values, endemic anti-Semitism, deep-seated misogyny, religious convictions and social assumptions are in millennial conflict with the traditions and beliefs that the West, despite its lapses and deviations, has represented—until now. The Canadian electorate is one I can no longer respect or enjoy any bond of sympathy with. It is probably unfair to rebuke Trudeau too harshly, for this puerile and self-inflated individual is merely the comprehensive image of the country he governs.
Canada has joined the cultural declension of the West and I fear there will be no turning back. Were it possible, we would now be packing our bags. The problem, of course, is where to go.

Ottawa Public Library book tells Muslims in West to be at war with host country

December 4, 2015 7:10 am By Robert Spencer 2 Comments
It is likely, however, that the Ottawa Public Library wouldn’t dream of carrying any books by alleged “Islamophobes.” “Ottawa Public Library Books have Islamacist Hate Messages,” TSEC Network, November 28, 2015 (thanks to Robert): Are Muslims who live in Canada living in a state of war with their host country? Should they see other Canadians […]

Canada now says it will “welcome” 50,000 Syrians by the end of 2016

Posted by Ann Corcoran on December 6, 2015
They have been all over the place with their numbers especially since they realized they couldn’t get 25,000 relocated to Canadian towns by the end of December (less than 4 weeks from now).
The boy wonder’s immigration chief is a former banker, John McCallum: 35,000-50,000 Syrians by the end of 2016. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/john-...arvey-pakistan

So to make it look like Trudeau’s campaign promise isn’t a bust already they are now throwing around the number 50,000 over the next twelve months. (To get to that number they need to be bringing in around 1,000 a week! Good luck with that security screening!)
And, we better be beefing-up our northern border! (Maybe Donald should start adding that border to his campaign speeches!)
See our previous posts on Trudeau’s dumb (and dangerous) idea by clicking here.
Among our top posts for the last couple of weeks is this one about Canadian military men being thrown out of barracks to make room for Syrians.
Now here is the mention of 50,000! (the first 300 arrived a few days ago). From The Desert Sun:
As Canada prepares to welcome the first of 25,000 Syrian refugees, the government suggests that number could double over the next year.
“The number of refugees is likely to be in the order of 35,000 to 50,000” by the end of next year, Immigration Minister John McCallum said.
The first “mass flight” of up to 300 refugees from Turkey and Jordan is expected to arrive by chartered aircraft*** on Thursday.
The new Liberal government made a commitment to resettle 25,000 refugees, along with those privately sponsored by churches and families, by the end of February.
Those coming to Canada are undergoing security, immigration and health checks.
The article goes on to tell us that most of the Syrians will come from UN camps, thus they will be nearly 100% Sunni Muslims just as are those entering the US now.
***There have been rumors of chartered flights bringing large numbers of refugees to the US. Surely someone has a photo if this has occurred!

    COP21— Canadians Fleeced, Again
With just a soupcon more of its traditional insensitivity, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), ended its ruefully named “Conference of the Parties 21” (COP21) in Paris on Saturday. I’m sure COP21 was indeed a conference of parties, wild parties, featuring only the best of everything for everyone there. Oysters, pate d’foie gras, Dom Perignon, Courvoisier, hmmm.
After spending nearly two weeks (and gazillions of dollars) at Le Bourget, just, a few miles northeast of Paris, one can only imagine the debaucheries that must have led to the gout & hangovers, which in turn led to the aching heads and blurred vision at the morning conclaves, which furthermore led to the “Agreement” the IPCC has so jubilantly touted.
Yes, friends, some 50,000 “delegates” from 196 countries spent two weeks wining and dining themselves, all on the hapless taxpayers’ dollars. Take a wild guess which country had the largest delegation at a whopping 383 delegates? Was it China? Was it India? Was it the US? No, friends it was… wait for it—CANADA! But we’ll talk about that in a minute.
No nation that signed on to this “Agreement” is actually planning to adhere to its terms, as it would surely be harmful to any national economy, given the exceptionally weak recovery from the Global Recession over the past seven year and the idiotic binding and non-binding commitments.
If all the nations that signed on actually abided by the “Agreement,” then a worldwide recession would ensue creating immediate and very disruptive consequences. So wisely, everyone is going to go home put the “Agreement” in his or her underwear drawer, where it belongs and forget about it.
Well, not exactly everyone. One country is taking this whole global warming, sorry climate change thing very seriously: Canada, speaking of which! So it looks as if all levels of government in Canada are solemnly planning to single-handed reduce the content of earth’s atmospheric carbon levels. They hope to achieve this by lowering Canada’s share of global atmospheric carbon (now at 1.6% of the world’s total vs. US’s 15.9% and China’s 28.3%).
