After reading "One Second After" and reading (too much) about the effects of EMP and the like, I was interested to see what the establishment had to say about this. In the beginning, the author does state that we would be pushed back to the mid 19th century technological base and a subsistence life style and that 90% wouldn't survive a year. Then, he started going into the "fact" that if only big power would listen to government and go along with same, the risks would be lessened. I made it four chapters in and returned the book to the library.

There may be interesting notes further into the book, but I feel I've probably read the worthwhile parts in many other places. With the author's belief that things would be so much better if only everybody would surrender their interests to .gov, I couldn't go further. Read it if you like. As I said, there may be some nuggets further in.
