Cold in Canada? Lots of tall mountains in Canada, too. Cold in Chili...how dry is it in Chili? Those Andes mountains are pretty tall and cold. Mosquitos tend to like very warm, still, water. Lots of fish in Canadian waterways? Fish are excellent consumers of mosquito larvae.

Just a few thoughts.

I hear it's in Europe. Some people vacationed in South America...they call it ''the Americas'' over there, and brought the disease back with them. Not sure how the mosquitos will handle it though. It's still winter.

Bernie Sanders would love Venezuela. It's got Socialist everything. And it's got nothing.
The Socialist banana republic's brand of universal health care managed to help spread malaria. Then universal health care collapsed, doctors stopped getting paid and started seeking asylum in other countries and the regime stopped publishing information about disease rates... because it would just be unhelpful.
Now the Socialist trainwreck may be covering up information about the Zika virus.

Venezuela's medical community is demanding the government publish statistics about infections by the Zika virus and warning it could already be alarmingly widespread.
Venezuela's Ministry of Health has so far only confirmed the presence of the mosquito-borne illness in the country bordering Brazil, where Zika is suspected of causing birth defects.
The ministry stopped publishing data on all epidemic diseases a year ago.
Non-government organizations have reported a sharp increase in unusual fevers here.

This is already becoming a problem for us.

A Hillsborough County resident is one of three Floridians who contracted the Zika Virus while traveling outside of the United States.
The resident contracted the mosquito-borne illness during a trip to Venezuela in December, according to the Florida Department of Health which tracks the cases.

But the left will go on pretending that Venezuela and Cuba have great health care systems and that we need to imitate them as soon as possible.
