New York Mayor Bill de Blasio bolstered his bid for re-election after federal and state prosecutors decided not to charge him in corruption investigations.
The politician has faced two separate probes into his fundraising efforts, specifically the financing of his mayoral campaign in 2013 and the Democratic campaign for the New York Senate in 2014.
But Joon Kim, the acting US attorney in Manhattan, said that after "careful deliberation" there were no plans to bring federal criminal charges against the 55-year-old or aides who acted on his behalf in fundraising efforts.
The prosecutor added that this kind of announcement was rare, but "appropriate in this case at this time" so that the mayoral campaign and November election would not be unduly influenced.
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, who had been investigating the 2014 Senate campaign, also announced that there would be no charges.
The news will come as a relief to de Blasio, who has been dogged by questions over the probes as he gears up to run for a second term.
The outspoken critic of US President Donald Trump has a good chance of re-election if no other big name comes forward.
In recent weeks rumors have spread of Hillary Clinton throwing her hat in the ring -- speculation that the former Democratic presidential candidate has neither given credence nor shot down.

    More Fiscal Budgetary Perspective…

Posted on March 17, 2017 by sundance
It must be nice having an EBT benefit over $5,583.42 to spend on food. (source)
Can you imagine, even fathom, your own family having $5,000+ to spend on food?

How the heck can someone be getting a Food Stamp / EBT benefit over $5,000 ?
This is the reason why many people have no sympathy for liberal budget cut pearl-clutching. Seriously. Good grief.

‘Monty Python’ Star Calls Climate Change Skepticism ‘Crime Against Humanity.’ Proves He’s a Moron Flip through the news channels and you’ll likely hear a leftist trying to limit or outright ban your rights. Whether it’s the boom sticks, free speech, or being a white man who wants to eat his donut in peace, the left wants to take it. On the off chance you think I’m fibbing, allow me to present an example. File this one under “life imitating art.” Eric Idle of Monty Python placed himself first in the running for Upper Class Twit Of The Year. Because he’d like to see climate change deniers thrown in the stocks
Sir Robin The Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot’s stance is surprising. Especially when you consider old school Python jokes about trannies and John Cleese’s stance on political correctness. I’d have figured Eric’s views would be more moderate.

Eric Idle appears to have silly-walked himself to the point of retardation. “Monty Python” pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable. Often butting heads with authority figures over their brand of humor. Fast forward a few decades and our boy Eric is preaching the opposite, screaming “BURN THE WITCH!” It appears his comedic brain has ceased to be. It’s expired and gone to meet its maker.
It’s been brought up over and over again that manmade climate change is far from proven science. In fact, some scientists argue the entire concept is a bunch of baloney Spam. So, until some new finding springs upon us to prove we’re grilling the world, there’s plenty of room for debate. Good luck explaining that to leftists. They would rather lock up people who disagree with them.

The big lesson in all of this is even people you would otherwise consider geniuses say silly things. Especially when said people align themselves left. Leftists have devolved into anti-discourse loonies who want to force dissenters into submission instead of dealing in facts. A hard exercise, considering they have no facts on their side. Nevertheless, the folks with the logic shall continue calling progressives on their silliness.

After tanking his stock by vowing to hire 10,000 Muslim refugees, Starbucks CEO is stepping down

The worldwide blowback from Howard Schultz’s far left social engineering policies has not only had a negative effect on its stock value, it has resulted in boycotts against the coffee giant all around the world.

Seattle Times On April 2, 63-year-old CEO Howard Schultz is stepping down from his second stint at the helm of the company he built into a global empire. The first time he left, an overexpanding Starbucks crashed into a sharp recession, and he returned to put the company back on the rails. Now he is leaving as the stock is declining again.

This time, he leaves the CEO position as questions again loom about Starbucks’ growth prospects — and about his own future as an advocate for social causes and, perhaps, a political candidate.

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz decided to ‘take a stand’ in defiance of Trump’s anti-Muslim immigration executive order and penned a message to the world vowing, among other things, to hire 10,000 refugees over the next 5 years and “build bridges, not walls.”

Adding insult to injury, the coffee giant is also offering free legal advice to employees and their families who are illegal aliens, according to CNNMoney.

ZeroHedge Within a few weeks, Schultz quickly found out the hard way that while most adult-aged Americans can agree that they like coffee, roughly 50% disagree with his leftist political opinions. Which, according to Yahoo Finance, has sent the company’s “brand perception” into a downward spiral since January 29th.

Starbucks consumer perception levels have fallen by two-thirds since late January, according to YouGov BrandIndex.

The perception tracker measures if respondents have “heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative.” In Starbucks’ case, perception is still overall positive, but significantly lower than it was prior to CEO Howard Schultz published a public letter outlining the company’s plans to give refugees jobs.

    Among his customer-alienating statements were:

    • A pledge to hire 10,000 (Muslim) refugees worldwide over the next five years, even if they are illegal aliens, instead of hiring citizens who need jobs, drew calls for a boycott

    • Telling customers if they support Donald Trump or don’t support gay marriage, he doesn’t want their money

    • His decision to pull Starbucks out of Israel because of pressure from pro-Palestinian/Hamas supporters

    • Taking on the gun debate, with Schultz running ads asking people not to openly carry firearms into its stores in response to open-carry supporters holding “Starbucks Appreciation Days” in which they would show up in stores with their guns

    • Encouraging baristas to hold conversations on racism with customers, have fizzled into awkwardness or sparked anger. As noted back in March 2015, the Company was forced to abandon its “Race Together” campaign that was intended “to be a catalyst for a larger conversation on race” relations in the U.S. but really just served to piss off a bunch of anxious people eager to grab their cup of coffee and be on their way.
New Observer In Spain, citizens protesting Starbucks decision to hire 10,000 refugees plastered the windows of every Starbucks branch in Madrid with stickers that said “Starburka Refugees.”

The protest action, carried out by Spanish nationalist activists Hogar Social Madrid (HSM), saw activists print up ultra-sticky full size stickers to replace existing store signage, made up in imitation of the Starbucks logo, and plaster the company’s branches throughout the city overnight.

A statement released by HSM on their Facebook page said that the action had been carried out to “protest the recruitment by the Starbucks chain of 10,000 refugees, while in Spain, unemployment is over 20 percent.”

NYC Bar Refuses To Serve Man Wearing “Make America Great Again” Hat…

Lucky, he made it out of NYC with all his body parts.
    Via NY Post:
Bartenders at a West Village hot spot served up discrimination — with a liberal twist — refusing to serve a customer because he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, according to a lawsuit.
Greg Piatek, 30, an accountant from Philadelphia, claims he was snubbed and eventually 86’d by workers at The Happiest Hour on West 10th Street over his conservative fashion statement, popularized by Donald Trump on the campaign trail, he told The Post.
“Anyone who supports Trump — or believes what you believe — is not welcome here! And you need to leave right now because we won’t serve you!” Piatek claims he was told as he was shown the door by a manager.
The shake-up started when Piatek and two pals, after a visit to the 9/11 Memorial, ordered drinks at the posh tavern around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 28.
A female bartender served Piatek a $15 jalapeño margarita and his pals beers. But when he tried to order a second round, a male bartender noticed his hat — and skipped them, he said.
One of Piatek’s pals pointed out it was their turn to be served, but the bartender scoffed. “Is that hat a joke?” the Manhattan Supreme Court suit claims.[…]
A manager said he spoke to the bar owner, and was told, “Anyone who supports Trump or believes what you believe is not welcome here. And you need to leave right now because we won’t serve you!” according to the suit.

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell: Irish-Americans Working For Trump ‘Disgrace Their Heritage’

And this is what passes for “objective journalism” at fake News MSNBC. Scroll through O’Donnell’s Twitter feed and you’ll see that it’s just a continuous anti-Trump screed.
    Via Free Beacon:
MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell informed Irish-Americans on St. Patrick’s Day that they were betraying their heritage if they worked for President Donald Trump.
O’Donnell, who is an Irish-American, tweeted out on Friday that, “The Irish-Americans working for Trump disgrace their heritage.”
O’Donnell’s tweet links to an op-ed from the New York Times shaming the Trump administration’s Irish-Americans employees for being insufficiently empathic towards to the plight of immigrants.
“We Irish are not Know Nothings. We know something important: what it’s like to be feared, to be discriminated against, to be stereotyped,” wrote columnist Fintan O’Toole.
Among the notable Irish-Americans working for Trump are Vice President Mike Pence, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, and chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Chicago Music Store Forced To Shut Down Over Owners’ Trump Support

Can you feel the love, tolerance and inclusiveness of the left?
    Via Breitbart:
Suzzanne Monk and Alexander Duvel, owners of Worlds of Music Chicago, said on “Fox & Friends Weekend” that their Trump support is causing them to shut down their music store in April.
Monk said she was “outed” as a Trump supporter after she and her husband posted about the University of Illinois-Chicago rally that was shut down by protesters.
“We actually drew some attention from the left, and they ‘outed’ us at that point as Trump supporters,” Monk said.
Since being “outed,” Monk said she and Duvel have been subjected to online threats and a decline in business, adding that friends have been wary of recommending anyone to the store because they back President Donald Trump.
“[It was] like I was just becoming more of a liability to [friends] because they couldn’t associate or recommend my shop to do business simply because of their peer group being so seriously anti-Trump,” Duvel explained.
Monk added that many people the couple had known for a long time decided the two were white supremacists and xenophobes without any evidence other than they voted for Trump.

Moonbat Cal State Prof: Yesterday’s “Slave Catchers” Are Today’s Police Officers…

Because racist police putting heroic criminals in jail is not “intersectional,” or something.
    Via College Fix:
At a Cal State Fullerton conference yesterday on “intersectionality” and discrimination, a professor and Black Lives Matter organizer said that today’s police officers are the “slave catchers” of prior generations.
According to the Daily Titan, Cal State Los Angeles’s Melina Abdullah told those in attendance “You literally have a target on your back. That is what policing was founded on and that is what it evolved out of. So the former slave catchers or paddy rollers, they were called slave patrols.”
Those old slave patrols, she said, evolved into today’s “patrolmen,” and thus important “because the roots of the police go deep.”
It’s also why she believes in the abolition of police departments.
Abdullah was joined by local activist Cristina Flores of the group “Copwatch,” and host Donna Nicol, Cal State Fullerton women and gender studies professor.
    From the article:
“In a nutshell, intersectionality is those multiple identities that you embody and how those things, not only give you meaning or define who you are, but also intersect in what is called the multiplier effect of oppression,” Nicol said. …
