Feminist Writer Says Being a Stay-at-Home Mom Should Be Illegal

Many feminists claim that all they want is equality -- for the sexes to be treated the same. Meanwhile, critics such as myself argue that what feminists say and what they do don't line up particularly well.
For example, they claim to want equal representation and pay in the workplace, but then focus only on white-collar careers. They ignore that women choosing to avoid careers like shipping or construction causes most of the gender discrepancy -- and they never protest that those fields are male-dominated.
The reality is that feminism isn't really about equal opportunity for women -- which few in the West oppose anymore -- but is just another strain of authoritarianism.
As an example, take this Australian columnist who wants to outlaw being a stay-at-home mom following a report lamenting the lack of women participating in the Australian workforce:
    Sponsored

Rather than wail about the supposed liberation in a woman’s right to choose to shun paid employment, we should make it a legal requirement that all parents of children of school-age or older are gainfully employed. The OECD was right to criticize the double standards applied to Australia’s work-search rules regarding welfare benefits. While young people face strict criteria when seeking to access the dole, those aged over 50 can still receive it despite not looking for a job by citing 15 hours volunteer work a week.
The double standards are even greater for stay-at-home mums, with governments of all persuasions traditionally wary to tackle the unfair tax concessions enjoyed by one-income households for fear of inciting voting fury. (No doubt they refer to Abbott’s aforementioned paid parental leave scheme as a cautionary tale).
But it’s time for a serious rethink of this kid-glove approach to women of child-bearing and child-rearing age. Holding us less accountable when it comes to our employment responsibilities is not doing anyone any favours. Not children, not fathers, not bosses -- and certainly not women.

Only when the female half of the population is expected to hold down a job and earn money to pay the bills in the same way that men are routinely expected to do will we see things change for the better for either gender.
Now, don't get me wrong. Columnist Sarrah Le Marquand's argument that all parents should work would do wonders to end Australia's welfare system. If everyone who could work did, then only those who are unable to work would be part of that system.
Few begrudge a welfare system that only takes care of those who are unable to work.
But that's not what Le Marquand wants.
The premise of her piece is that women aren't working -- and nothing else. An apparently large number of women have opted out of the workforce in order to hold down the fort at home, and that bothers her. People made a decision she disagrees with, so they must be forced to make the right decision.
    Sponsored

Once upon a time, feminism was about women having the option to seek out employment. Both the law and society changed to accept this as a perfectly normal thing. Le Marquand wants the opposite of that -- to send women back to when they couldn't decide for themselves.
What happened to "my body, my decision"?

Feminists Sending Trump Giant Vagina Stuffed With Letters From ‘Concerned Women’

    #ReadMyLips = ridiculous

Feminism continues setting the bar lower and lower in the class department. First it was wearing “pussy hats” and vagina costumes on Inauguration weekend. Now, it’s a giant vagina stuffed with letters telling President Trump what women want from him over the next four years. Tell us again why we’re supposed to take feminism seriously?Mogul, “a platform for women worldwide,” has launched the hashtag campaign #ReadMyLips (get it?) with the plan of delivering thousands of messages to the White House on April 21, 2017, inside a giant, sculpted vagina created by veteran prop makers from Saturday Night Live. The campaign has been featured in Allure, Glamour, and at The Huffington Post. Twenty-four colleges have even signed on in support.
“We wanted this to be a gift that he would be excited about receiving,” said Mogul’s vice president Bethany Heinrich. “But in a very classy, classy, classy — I can’t express classy enough — way.”
“I just hope this will drive the point home for him in a good, fun way,” Heinrich added. “And I hope that he has a sense of humor. I really hope he enjoys it.”
But let’s take a step back for a second: The go-to feminist battle cry against Trump goes something like, “Keep your paws off my pu**y,” which begs a serious question: How is he supposed to open his gift?

Consertive Bus Vandalized By Tolerant LGBT Activists By Sarah Stites | March 24, 2017 | 11:50 AM EDT

If you’re not convinced the media is on board with the LGBT agenda, think again.

On the evening of March 23, NYC vandals damaged a bus displaying a conservative message about gender, and even tackled the vehicle’s driver. Although liberal media outlets condemned the bus’s message prior to the incident, few reported on the vandalism and its ironic assault on free speech. And if they did, biased headlines labelled the vehicle “transphobic” or “anti-transgender.”
However, the #FreeSpeechBus doesn’t promote hate; it promotes science. A joint effort between the National Organization for Marriage, the International Organization for the Family and conservative activist group Citizen Go, the bus and its activists are holding rallies and press conferences in key East Coast cities. Their message — and the words emblazoned on the bright orange vehicle — are simple: “It’s biology: Boys are boys … and always will be. Girls are girls … and always will be. You can’t change sex. Respect all.”
Nevertheless, USA Today writer Melanie Eversley headlined her piece: “Bus with anti-transgender message is vandalized in NYC.” Fusion reporter Rafi Schwartz took the same track, writing: “A transphobic ‘free speech’ bus hit the streets of New York — and was immediately vandalized.”
Huffington Post Trends Reporter Elyse Wanshel reported on the bus before it was defaced, condemning its “transphobic message of hate.” So far, Huff Post has not published any stories about the vandalism.
“This bus is on a road trip to convince you that transgender people aren’t real,” wrote BuzzFeed LGBT news reporter Dominic Holden. BuzzFeed also did not report the on the damage.
This is not the first bit of pushback the bus has experienced.
Prior to the American tour, other versions of the vehicle traveled through Europe. In early March, a Spanish bus was barred from entering Madrid. At the time, Chelsea Clinton tweeted: "Please don't bring these buses to the U.S. (or anywhere)."
The Citizen Go website even had to close for a day because of a hack from an LGBT group.
Liberals have been quick to condemn the “intolerant” and “hateful” message of the conservative activists. However, the NYC vandals and the biased media response reveal two important points. First, free speech is under siege. Second, “tolerant folks” can be some of the most hateful people out there.

Eco-Friendly Seattle Sewage Plant Dumps Millions Of Gallons Of Sewage Into Puget Sound…

Give the homeless sponges to help with the cleanup.
    Via Seattle PI:
Millions of gallons of raw sewage and untreated runoff have poured into the United States’ second-largest estuary since a massive sewage treatment plant experienced equipment failures that forced it to stop fully treating Seattle’s waste.
The county-run facility has been hobbling along at about half-capacity since the Feb. 9 electrical failure resulted in catastrophic flooding that damaged an underground network of pumps, motors, electric panels and other gear.
The sewage treatment plant — Washington state’s largest — is only partially treating dirty water that goes down Seattle toilets and washes off roofs and roads before discharging it into Puget Sound. It’s likely to face fines for violating federal clean-water laws.
“It has been a disaster, and we’re not out of it yet. We still don’t know really what went wrong,” said Jeanne Kohl-Welles, a King County councilwoman whose district includes the 32-acre West Point Treatment Plant, on the shores of Puget Sound next to Seattle’s largest public park.
“We’ve got to get a handle on it. I’m very concerned about the environment, the effects on marine life in the sound, public health,” she added.
County officials say crews have been working around the clock to repair about $25 million in flood-related damages and bring the plant to full operations by the end of April. They note that raw sewage has not flowed from the plant since Feb. 16.
In the meantime, Kohl-Welles and other council members have launched an independent probe. They say they want to know what led to the breakdown and make sure this type of disaster doesn’t happen again.
The sewage spill is a potential black eye for a region that prides itself on its environmental consciousness. Years of work have gone into trying to clean up the nation’s second-largest estuary, a vast inlet where water from the Pacific Ocean mixes with water draining from thousands of streams and rivers. One recent effort banned boats from dumping raw or partially treated sewage.
In all, about 30 million gallons of raw sewage have poured into Puget Sound — during the initial breakdown and on two other occasions.[…]
Events unfolded quickly in the early hours of Feb. 9. Power went out to two sets of pumps that discharge treated wastewater into Puget Sound. Float switches designed to detect high water levels inside the tanks also failed, allowing water to top over and flood surrounding areas. Crews worked fast to divert the flows to bypass the plant and go directly into the sound, but the flooding damage was done.
While rain did not cause the electrical failure that set problems in motion, it certainly exacerbated it, said Robert Waddle, plant operations manager. The facility typically handles about 90 million gallons a day, but it was near peak with 440 million gallons because of heavy rain.

Poland Charges 11 Over Bizarre Lamb-Slaughtering By Peacenik Nudists At Auschwitz…

    Worldwide liberal art majors.
    Via The Times Of Israel:
Polish prosecutors on Saturday said they had pressed charges against 11 people who slaughtered a lamb and then stripped naked at the former German Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The unprecedented stunt, carried out on Friday in front of the camp’s “Arbeit macht frei” (“Work makes you free”) gate, was apparently intended as a call for world peace.
After killing the lamb, the seven men and four women, all aged between 20 and 27, draped a white banner with “love” written in red over the infamous gate, removed their clothes and chained themselves together.
They used a drone to film the incident, local media reported.
The perpetrators, among them six Poles, four Belarussians and one German, were charged with “desecrating a monument,” Oswiecim regional prosecutor Mariusz Slomka said, quoted by the Polish PAP news agency.
The man who killed the lamb will face additional charges under animal protection laws that carry a penalty of up to two years behind bars, he said.
They told police the act was intended to be “a performance, a demonstration, for world peace,” he added.

Jessica Chastain Would Be 'Very Happy' if Chelsea Clinton Decides to Run for Office

Jessica Chastain Would Be 'Very Happy' If Chelsea Clinton Decides to Run for Office

WASHINGTON – Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain said she would be “very happy” if Chelsea Clinton ran for public office and that she does not know Ivanka Trump’s “qualifications” for her role in the White House.
Chastain visited Washington on Wednesday for the premiere of her new film, The Zookeeper’s Wife, which opens in theaters on March 31.
Variety and the Lifetime network are honoring Chastain and Chelsea Clinton for their contributions to media and entertainment at a “Power of Women” luncheon next month in New York City.
Some have speculated that Clinton might run for a House or Senate seat in the future, given her public criticism of Republicans on social media.
Chastain was asked if she would like to see Clinton run for office.
“I think she should do whatever she wants to do. I think she’s a very intelligent and capable young woman and if we she wants to run for office I’m very happy. I think the more women that run for office, the better society will be. I encourage all women watching this, listening, to please run for office because we need you,” Chastain said before the screening.

It was recently reported that first daughter Ivanka Trump would be getting an office in the West Wing of the White House and a security clearance that would give her access to some classified information. Chastain was asked if she agrees with that decision.
“You know, I don’t know her qualifications so I’m not a good one to ask about that,” she replied.
Chastain told Extra that President Trump’s budget proposal is making her “so sad” because it cuts domestic programs that she supports. Chastain commented specifically on the proposed elimination of funding for the National Endowment of the Arts.
“What is a society without art? What is a society without music and poetry? I mean, I can’t quote exactly what Winston Churchill said but he said, like, without it what are we living for? So, of course, to me the arts are very important,” she said.

Chastain told PJM that The Zookeeper’s Wife, in which she portrays Polish World War II heroine Antonina Żabińska, relates to the immigration debate happening in the United States as well as public funding of the arts.
“The film actually kind of relates to two of the questions you asked me because it also relates to arts. Antonina, not only did she save the lives of hundreds of people in World War II, she created a sanctuary and she bolstered spirits and fostered hope and she created a space of music and art and love. And those that were in deep suffering found healing through that so that addresses the first question about how important arts are. And then the second one, Antonina herself was a refugee,” Chastain said.

“She fled violence in Russia, she was born in Saint Petersburg, found herself in Warsaw as a young woman and that’s where she found her place of love and her own sanctuary. And perhaps because she has an understanding of what it was like to run, to be afraid and to be alone, it was important for her to protect others who were scared and fleeing violence,” she added.
Chastain compared the debate around immigration issues such as the entry of refugees into the U.S. to the story of Anne Frank.
“So, you know, we’ve learned now that Anne Frank’s family were denied visas twice to come into the United States. We all learn. We all read the book, Diary of Anne Frank – it’s required reading. I read it when I was 12 years old,” she said. “It was so important to my education, but I feel a little bit of betrayal that my teacher didn’t tell us in that lesson that the United States didn’t let her in. And I think by ignoring that part of history we are washing our hands of it, and we can’t claim a book as education without saying how we’re partly responsible for her death.”
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
“As a general rule, the earlier you recognize someone is trying to kill you, the better off you’ll be.”

“No Firearms Allowed” Sign Fired After Failing To Stop Mass Shooting

Posted at 2:08 pm on March 27, 2017 by Bob Owens

“Notice,” the “no firearms allowed” sign at the front door of the Cameo night club in Cincinnati (OH), has been terminated after once again failing to stop armed criminals from simply walking right in and opening fire.
Sixteen people were shot — one fatally — inside of a Cincinnati nightclub Sunday morning.
O’Bryan Spikes, 27, died in the shooting. At least 16 others were shot.
The shooting was reported just after 1 a.m. at Cameo nightclub on Kellogg Avenue in Linwood. Police believe that multiple people fired shots. No arrests have been made.
Spikes’ family told WLWT News 5 that they were in shock over the man’s death. Spikes was a father and junior college student who came to the club often, they said.
“The bar was very crowded, approximately a couple hundred people,” Isaac said. “Several local men got into some type of a dispute inside the bar, and it escalated into shots being fired from several individuals.”
“This is a tragedy that has struck other communities, and now it has struck Cincinnati,” Mayor John Cranley said. “I’m confident that while our hearts are broken, that our spirit is not.”
The now unemployed sign protested that anti-gun laws only stop the law-abiding, who aren’t the problem in the first place, and that violent criminals have always ignored him, and always will.
Notice is now seeking a job with billionaire Michael Bloomberg, despite knowing full well that Bloomberg’s own personal security detail will ignore him as well.

'Large Burly Man' Lurking in Disney Ladies' Room Should Make Everyone Stop and Think

It's all fun and games until there's a burly guy in your bathroom peering through that one-inch gap in the stalls when you've got your panties around your ankles. What we all said would happen has happened, and at Disneyland no less. When the transgendered came out swinging for the right to use whatever bathroom they want to, some of us said this is not a good idea. And our reasons weren't that we don't want men who live as women to feel comfortable or safe but because we knew (those of us who were born women and live with the very real threat of male violence every day) that predators would take advantage of this new "anything goes" policy and waltz into our safe spaces to violate us and no one would be able to do anything about it.
And now it's happened. Kristen Quintrall Lavin at The Get Real Mom recounted her terrible experience.
    Sponsored

I was off to the side waiting with the two boys, when I noticed a man walk into the restroom. My first thought was “Oh ****, he’s walked in the wrong restroom by mistake. lol” He took a few more steps, at which point he would’ve definitely noticed all the women lined up and still kept walking. My next thought was, “Maybe he’s looking for his wife…or child and they’ve been in here a while.” But he didn’t call out any names or look around. He just stood off to the side and leaned up against the wall. At this point I’m like, “WTF? Ok there is definitely a very large, burly man in a Lakers jersey who just walked in here. Am I the only one seeing this?" I surveyed the room and saw roughly 12 women, children in tow, staring at him with the exact same look on their faces. Everyone was visibly uncomfortable. We were all trading looks and motioning our eyes over to him…like "What is he doing in here?” Yet every single one of us was silent. And this is the reason I wrote this blog. If this had been 5 years ago, you bet your ass every woman in there would’ve been like, “Ummm what are you doing in here?”, but in 2017? The mood has shifted. We had been culturally bullied into silenced. Women were mid-changing their baby’s diapers on the changing tables and I could see them shifting to block his view. But they remained silent. I stayed silent. We all did. Every woman who exited a stall and immediately zeroed right in on him...said nothing. And why? B/c I and I’m sure all the others were scared of that “what if”. What if I say something and he says he "identifies as a woman" and then I come off as the intolerant ******* at the happiest place on earth? So we all stood there, shifting in our uncomfortableness…trading looks. I saw two women leave the line with their children. Still nothing was said. An older lady said to me out loud, “What is he doing in here?” I’m ashamed to admit I silently shrugged and mouthed, “I don’t know." She immediately walked out, from a bathroom she had every right to use without fear.
And this is why pushing for laws to allow anyone to use whatever bathroom they identify with (this week) is absurd and dangerous. Before 2017 we shared the ladies' room with transgendered people and we either didn't know or never said anything because we knew we weren't in danger. It's something you don't talk about. You just pee and leave. But by making a capital case out of it and literally inviting anyone into female safe spaces, the government has put women and children at risk from peeping toms, rapists, pedophiles, drunks, and vagrants. Predators already capitalize and count on women's reluctance to fight back or speak out. Now it's even worse because if you do speak up, you will be labeled transphobic and predators know it. There is no doubt in my mind that the man in Disneyland was pushing boundaries and getting a thrill from the power he had to be somewhere he knew he shouldn't be, but counted on no one saying anything. This is the climate political correctness has brought to women: fear and the inability to act.

Teenage Boy Sues School Over Transgender Bathrooms After Privacy Violation

Transgendered activists are always saying, "are you going to do a genital check at the door?" Of course not! We never did this before and didn't have any problems. If I don't know, then I don't care. But if you wander into my restroom and you are clearly a man, I'm going to assume you are there to do me harm and I will take whatever action is necessary to stop you until the cops drag you out or you run. I would encourage all women to do the same. Men do not belong in our bathrooms. Violence against women is a very real and scary thing and the people doing most of that violence are men. I'm not willing to admit any man into a place where I am vulnerable and unprotected in a partial state of undress and usually with my children. Hell to the no.
Call me whatever name you want, but if you're a man ... stay out of my bathroom or face the consequences. I won't be cowed into silence or inaction by the threat of name-calling. Any man going into a ladies' room (especially in a carry state) is taking a very big chance that he will not come out alive. If the government isn't going to do their job and protect us from predators, it's time to protect ourselves. Stop tolerating this, ladies. It's a shame that those women in Disneyland just stood there and allowed that predator to scare them into submission.
    Sponsored

Disneyland should think very carefully about how to handle this in the future because the liability is a nightmare for them. The last thing they want is a "How I Was Raped on My Disney Vacation (and I Don't Mean Financially)" story to pop up. It is outrageous that a man was able to walk into a ladies' room in a place that should be crawling with security and cameras, since you can't bring in any self-defense weapons or tools. How were there not three Disney security officers popping out of an underground lair to nab this guy before he got through the door? Has Disney just turned their backs on the safety of women and children in their parks? These are questions that need to be answered before anyone books their next trip to see the mouse.

The moral of this story is this: SPEAK UP, LADIES! If a man walks in the bathroom, you don't stop to think about it, you start yelling "GET OUT!" while dialing 911. Take whatever criticism any loon wants to throw at you. Your life and the lives of your children are worth more than public opinion.
