Kerry Concedes: Terrorism Is A Bigger Threat Than Climate Change…

    Via Washington Examiner:
Secretary of State John Kerry this week acknowledged twice that the Islamic State and the threat of terrorism around the world is a bigger threat than climate change, even though he has insisted in past years that climate is the bigger threat.
Kerry revealed his subtle change of thinking during his trip to Europe, where he twice indicated that when it comes to global threats, terrorism is first, and climate change is a very close second.
“[L]et me just say that one of the greatest challenges of our times besides the fight against extremism is to deal with the enormous battle of climate change,” he said in Denmark Thursday. The phrase “besides the fight against extremism” indicates he sees terrorism as the top threat.
He made a similar comment in Norway on Wednesday, when at first seemed prepared to say climate is the bigger issue, but then conceded that terrorism ranks at the top.

John Kerry: Air Conditioners As Big A Threat As ISIS

Yep, they might freeze you to death…
    Via Free Beacon:
Secretary of State John Kerry said in Vienna on Friday that air conditioners and refrigerators are as big of a threat to life as the threat of terrorism posed by groups like the Islamic State.
The Washington Examiner reported that Kerry was in Vienna to amend the 1987 Montreal Protocol that would phase out hydrofluorocarbons, or HFCs, from basic household and commercial appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, and inhalers.
“As we were working together on the challenge of [ISIS] and terrorism,” Kerry said. “It’s hard for some people to grasp it, but what we–you–are doing here right now is of equal importance because it has the ability to literally save life on the planet itself.”

Without a doubt, the office of Sec. of State, under the last few Democrat administrations, has done more to weaken our country and western civilization than just about anything, except Obama. From Madalin Albright to Kerry, they have really messed up the world.

Kerry: 'Only Natural' to Consider Removing FARC from Terror List

Kerry: 'Only Natural' to Consider Removing FARC from Terror List

WASHINGTON -- Secretary of State John Kerry said today that the U.S. would consider removing Colombia's FARC for the foreign terrorist organizations list if the Marxist guerrilla group "makes peace."
The Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia was added to the State Department's terror list in 1997 and has held hundreds of hostages over the past few years. U.S. victims include three missionaries murdered in 1999 and three Defense Department contractors held for more than five years before their 2008 rescue.
"While peace negotiations were ongoing, the FARC remained active in carrying out acts of terrorism in 2015," the State Department noted in its most recent country reports on terrorism. Throughout this time, FARC, "Latin America’s oldest, largest, most violent, and best-equipped terrorist organization," killed Colombian soldiers, knocked out electricity to millions, forced tankers to dump nearly a quarter million gallons of crude oil, and bombed pipelines.
The FARC and the National Liberation Army (ELN) pose "the primary terrorist threats in the Western Hemisphere," the report said.

Hosting the U.S.-Colombia High-Level Partnership Dialogue at the State Department today, Kerry was asked by a member of the Colombian press if the U.S. already began a process to remove FARC from the terror list.
The reporter also noted that "FARC guerrilla members say that while you were in Cuba you gave them hope about releasing Simon Trinidad from jail."
"Is it absolutely off the table, or is there a possibility that the U.S. is considering releasing Simon Trinidad before time?" the reporter asked.
Trinidad, a high-ranking FARC leader, is currently housed in Colorado's Supermax prison. Kerry met with FARC representatives during a March visit to Cuba.
Kerry replied that he and the terror group "had a very good meeting when I was in Havana, and I appreciated the opportunity to meet with the leaders of FARC."

"It was a serious conversation and I think a very constructive conversation, but I don't know where the interpretation was regarding Simon Trinidad," he said. "We've been very, very clear that he is not part of the peace process, so it is not part of this discussion and part of the process. He is in jail serving time for crimes committed against American contractors and he is in jail under American law."
Kerry said that "with respect to the terrorist group designation, we consistently review terrorist group designations with respect to any country that has been designated."
"And I would say this: that if FARC makes peace and FARC lives up to the agreement and keeps the elements of the agreement which are now within the four corners of the document that ultimately, we hope, will be signed -- and if they engage in that disarmament and they engage in peaceful activities and they give up the violence and they move to uphold the full measure of this agreement -- it would be only natural that within the context of our review process that the United States would take account of the steps that they have taken, which may change or may not change the situation," Kerry said.
"But that would obviously be very much part of a new Colombia and a new situation with respect to them particularly. So clearly, I would say to you that as part of the natural review process we would be reviewing the new facts."

Former President Alvaro Uribe is leading the campaign to shoot down the accord, which was approved in June and is likely to be decided by referendum.
FARC operations have killed some quarter million people since the guerrilla group launched in the 1960s.

Kerry: Media should cover terrorism less so that “people wouldn’t know what’s going on”

August 29, 20165:41 pm By Robert Spencer 23 Comments
You see, he wants people not to know what’s going on, so that they don’t start in any significant numbers demanding real action and an honest approach to the motivating ideology behind jihad terror. He wants to keep people ignorant and complacent so that they don’t question the administration’s suicidal approach to the jihad threat and the Muslim migrant influx.

“Kerry in Bangladesh: Media Should Cover Terrorism Less,” by Jeryl Bier, Weekly Standard, August 29, 2016:
During Secretary of State John Kerry’s first official visit to Bangladesh, he met with top Bangladeshi government officials and held a press conference at the Edward M. Kennedy Center in Dhaka. In light of recent terror attacks in that country, Kerry addressed the problem of terrorism, including root causes and how the terrorists spread their message. The secretary said that the media could “do us all a service” by reducing coverage of terror attacks:
Remember this: No country is immune from terrorism. It’s easy to terrorize. Government and law enforcement have to be correct 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. But if you decide one day you’re going to be a terrorist and you’re willing to kill yourself, you can go out and kill some people. You can make some noise. Perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover it quite as much. People wouldn’t know what’s going on. (Applause.)…

John Kerry’s State Department Funneled MILLIONS To His Daughter’s Nonprofit

Absolute and utter corruption. This is the hallmark of the Obama presidency. They left don’t produce. They mooch, loot and steal. The right connections really do matter, it seems – just ask John Kerry’s daughter, Vanessa Kerry, whose nonprofit foundation saw a big boost of revenues from Department of State coffers, the same bureaucratic entity […]READ MORE - See more at: http://pamelageller.com/home/#sthash.E69BBT7b.dpuf

Kerry Praises Obama: “He Has Been Able to Circumvent Congress” On Climate Change…

Kerry spent 28 years in the Senate. That statement illustrates what a feckless boob he truly is.
    feck·less
    ˈfekləs/
    adjective
lacking initiative or strength of character; irresponsible.
    “a feckless mama’s boy”
    synonyms: useless, worthless, incompetent, inept, good-for-nothing, ne’er-do-well;

    Via MRC TV:
In between waxing poetic about the coming climate apocalypse and exchanging no less than two dozen self-congratulatory praises for being such an awesome guardian of Planet Earth, Secretary of State John Kerry rejoiced during a panel discussion on climate change that a great American industry responsible for supporting hundreds of thousands of blue-collar jobs is “now bankrupt.”
At a screening of Leonardo diCaprio’s new global warming film, “Before the Flood,” Kerry lamented that it took this long for coal companies to go out of business – a fate brought on largely by President Obama’s aggressive environmental regulations – saying that it would have happened earlier if “big coal” hadn’t been so busy buying political support during Kerry’s time in the Senate.
“Big coal – which now, by the way, is bankrupt – spent enormous sums of money against other colleagues, scaring them and making it clear to them that they were going to have a very difficult re-election because of the funding mechanisms we have in America for our elections, and that’s why people backed off. We never got to that critical mass,” Kerry said of his past efforts on climate change.
“We were deprived of the opportunity to ever get a vote because not enough people felt compelled to move by this,” he whined. “They were compelled to move by fear.”
Or maybe it was because anyone with a shred of common sense knew an all-out assault on coal would devastate local economies, cause unemployment rates in many coal towns to skyrocket past repair and cost tens of thousands of miners their jobs, all without reducing CO2 emissions or significantly impact alleged climate change – a fact Obama’s own EPA was eventually forced to admit.
Keeping one foot perpetually lodged in his mouth, Kerry also praised Obama for getting around that pesky “checks and balances” problem, hailing the president for his ability to “circumvent Congress” (and its publicly-elected representatives) and make sweeping unilateral changes that have devastated large swaths of America’s energy sector.
“President Obama put in place a national climate action program – a plan for America – and I think history is going to be very respectful of the way in which he has been able to circumvent Congress, who didn’t want to do anything, and so he’s really found what are the constitutional powers that he can exercise administratively, and he’s done administratively what he hasn’t been able to get out of Congress.”
